- BlackSheepx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+33...Wanna make anymore features for the Wii, Nintendo? Jesus.
The Wii is gonna own every other console for every reason possible.
and@rishubhav... that'd be awesome. Something like sonic shuffle for the DC where you looked at your cards on the vmu.. - Xephyr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+32Nintendo did it before with the Gamecube and the GBA. So actually Sony DID copy them.
- flickerbrain, on 10/12/2007, -4/+28Nintendo already did it with the GBA and Gamecube. Before the PSP.
- SnOwie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22They did it before and they do it again.
Love the way they make everything as 1 part of the nintendo experience - foshaug, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23I was expecting this. Nintendo is usually very good in finding new uses for their handheld consoles.
GC's Zelda 4 swords using gameboys as controllers. Same in the GC final fantasy game. - rishubhav, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14This would be awesome for multiplayer, because you get your own screen and you're opponent can't see it
- puffarthur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14they should make texas hold'em game for Wii for people who don't want to buy cards and poker chips. i mean even some poker sets cost more than the Wii will.
- Murdats, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13"Oh...naw I don't want a Wii
I could really care less about video games anymore"
2 things there
why make a comment in the first place besides just to troll
and WTF is with people saying could care less, it makes no sense, it seems to be the new thing to do
eg
by saying you could care less means you care, because there is still less that you could care, its redundant, just say "I care"
if your care level is 5 you could care less, anywhere between 0-4 is less then 5
if your care level is 0 you COULDNT care less because there is no positive integer less then 0 - n3rrd, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15As the other two mentioned, Nintendo already played with this idea. They had a cable you could buy that connected the GBA to the GC like a controller. They announced it even before the GameCube came out, if I remember correctly.
Be a fanboy all you want, but atleast have the facts straight... - KineticFlow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12another reason to buy a DS Lite before Wii comes out....
- otatop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Obviously you do, seeing as you not only clicked the link to come to this article, but you then spent the time typing a reply.
- davidro, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14I'm sure that if you write to Nintendo about this, they'll send you a DS for free. They might even throw in a complimentary copy of Super Mario Galaxy and a $25 gift certificate at the virtual console store, for your trouble.
- Hellion, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Alternate Title: Touch Your Wii!
- HAKdragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9like the VMUs on the Dreamcast? Granted, that with the DS the resolution would be much higher and it would be in color.
- Cerberus047, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8some sort of quiz game would be insane with that....... everybody type in your answers now!!!
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8yay for nintendo. Intergation is key. Hopefully you can somehow play the classic games that you download onto the Wii on the DS, that would be sweet.
- otatop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7JeopardWii.
- jonnyeh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Why not just buy the DS poker game?
Or better yet, buy a deck of cards, it's 'poker, the home game'!! - macattacks10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7And coincidentally the GBA works with the GCN...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6good ol' vmu's, i remember trying to look down and play virtua tennis on the vmu, depth perception was a bitch
- terminalpariah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@theBrink: There are stacks of games that use the GBA -> GC connectivity besides Crystal Chronicles. For example, Animal Crossing allows you to upload any NES ROMs you've unlocked to the GBA so you can play them on the go. Wind Waker implements a limited co-op functionality, which is required to find certain secrets. And many titles use the cable to trade data between Cube games and their GBA counterparts (e.g., Metroid Prime, Harvest Moon).
But the best use by far is Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, which uses the extra screen *extremely* well. It's definitely one of the most fun mulitplayer games ever made, and if you know three friends with GBAs it's worth it to buy the game and cables. Heck, it's Player's Choice ($20). - LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5See the thread above...
"Nintendo did it before with the Gamecube and the GBA. So actually Sony DID copy them." - titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Touching is good.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Quit spamming your website.
- dementedcrabs, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Tilt sensor, thank you very much.
- bjs0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5"Satoru" Iwata. Not "Saturo" Iwata. Very good news, otherwise.
- puffarthur, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Texas Hold'em!!!
- Tricky, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I agree. Just out: Play card games with Real Live CardsŪ! Includes real human contact. Now available at ANYWHERE.
- LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Simply amazing. You not only got a free console, but they transported you to November of this year to get you that console!
- jwoelich, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Difference is, this has probably been in the works for a looooong time before it was announced, unlike the motion sensing controller Sony threw in at the last second, that half their developers didn't even know about more than a week beforehand. Good try though.
- joehobbes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Pac-Man Vs. was the absolute best example of connectivity on the Cube
http://www.racketboy.com/retro/2006/03/review-pac-man-vs-gamecube.html
Terribly underrated - sketchstudios, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9@mikevickrocks
lets stop with this who copied who stuff. its been happening since day 1. it will continue too. its really not so much about who copied who, which is the problem with the Wii fanboys, but how SOON AFTER something comes out is it "copied". As in Sonys case, their controller that somehow magically was upgraded to have motion sensing just one week before E3 is a bit suspicious to anyone, wii fanboy or not. - Bullsnot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This will enable the touch screen to function as a pen mouse for a more PC like gaming experience.
Bring on the port of warcraft2 :) - nonokiaboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2heh WiiDB. Apparently you suck. Majority rules ;)
- nstern2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think it's gonna be more along the lines of big brain academy for the ds. Each person uses their own ds to answer questions from the Wii. Hell I will take another Zelda game like the 4 swords. Maybe they will take a page from Sony and use the DS as a rear view mirror for a new Mario kart game.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7The Wii is going to own because they're going crazy! lol Nintendo is getting peoples attention with their new controller and then adding "yeah, look- remember all the reasons you loved us before?" on top of that. I quit games a few years back... Nintendo owns my ass now lol. I don't support any other console.
- millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Actually Nintendo's very good about replacements. If you have merely one dead/stuck pixel on any of their handhelds, under warranty they'll replace it immediately with one without dead/stuck pixels.
- tainedhero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2nonono, not homebrew im talking usins Nintendos new download service. make everything run nicceee and smooth.
- MatttK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2No, you get your own screenS.
Crystal Chronicles is pretty neat but it was annoying switching between screens all the time.. it'd be cool having two screens..
I do hope FF:CC for Wii uses the DS! - TheBrandman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think that by "could care less" people mean that they are already showing more interest than they actually have, basically saying that they could be apathetic about being apathetic to the subject.
- jedi0utkast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1DUUUH!
- millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nintendo did it with GBC and N64 (some Pokemon titles) and even the original Gameboy and SNES (which both predate PocketStation, VMS and NeoGeo Pocket-Dreamcast, which many anti-Nintendo trolls like to reference as pre-Nintendo Handheld-Console connectivity).
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Next-gen? New-gen!
http://1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3150307 - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2why hasn't anyone said anyting about the implementation of fps games with this! and RTS games!!! its freakin perfect i always thought the ds functions like a mouse maybe even better.. personally i wish they just made the ds lite the official controller of the WII rather then that non responsive nun chuck crap.. FPS on the ds in the wii would be freakin perfect..
- wai_xing_ren, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You know what would be awesome? If you could use the DS as a touch screen controller for the PC. Hackers need to start working on that. (If someone has already done it, please post a link.)
Also, this is unrelated, but someone commented on multiplayer. I REALLY hope the wireless connectivity functions as a suitable replacement for system link play and that they USE it. That's one feature the Xbox had over Gamecube and PS2. - wai_xing_ren, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It looks like there are programs for using the DS to control a PC.

http://tinyurl.com/oahab - Tricky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good idea. Like Metroid Prime Hunters Wii.
I wish they could implement RTS well, tho. - dementedcrabs, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6PSP&PS3 are doing this as well. Only it will be more like PS3 as the main base, and you use the PSP to download stuff from that and take it on the go, sort of like a desktop PC and a laptop I guess.
- dunstdunst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://wii-wii.us
- TheBrandman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The picture of a black Wii was pretty unnecessary, but it think that generally saying all Wii news is trash is a bit immature.
