- CamoChris, on 10/12/2007, -8/+50@ ani-pockdotnet: Did you read the story, or even the title? Because if you had you would know that this is about the DS Lite, not the Wii, and wouldn't have just made an ass of yourself.
- thewebguy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+32they should have made it the you-found-something-awesome-in-a-treasure-chest sound from zelda
- SteaminTmann, on 10/12/2007, -9/+30I miss the olden days of digg, less stories but people's comments were well thought out and intelligent.. not asinine
- DesertSquirrel, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22Penny Arcade posted a video of this a few days ago on YouTube.

Okay, so maybe that's a fairly large part of my brain... - cderry, on 10/12/2007, -13/+30Very cool. Jack Bauer was in the duct work when you opened that.
- jaybob007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13At least it's still safe to ship a box in the US with wires ran and LED's hooked up!
- Unicron, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Jealous much?
- hansonc, on 10/12/2007, -12/+20@SteaminTmann
You must be confused. No one's ever thought out a comment on Digg... It's slashdot you're thinking of and it's still there. - Bender1001, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Ya...kinda makes ya wonder about that one :P.
- Alegis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9I agree, after which the guy in the clip raises the DS lite in the air with one hand.
DS LITE GET - dudinatrix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7That's awesome! This comment from the site got a laugh out of me too...
"Wait wait wait -
You're brain flashed 'bomb', and the first thing you did was fix it and try it again?" - ripter, on 10/12/2007, -11/+16That's what I read at first too!
I was imaging some giant Nintendo boob trapping some journalist in the corner - TylerDurden0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4That's what Ted Kaczinski originally thought.
- TylerDurden0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I like mine with a whisper of Anthrax spores.
- TugsMcgroin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Joey, you are using the K2 theme with full javascript running. I'd turn it off while you are being dugg. Good luck.
- cambrown99, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Sunday can't come fast enough...
- phantom42, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3because as far as ups (or any other shipper is concerned), its just a box with wires. there are no trace elements of explosives or deadly chemicals.
- CypherXero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Because the press are the ones writing the articles in the magazines and websites, helping to promote and advertise their newest and latest products. Also, so that they can analyze the product and give their opinions on it.
- evilrobotmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5you should rig it to your front door so it does that everytime people enter your house.
- manveru, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5- I'm setting booty traps.
- You mean booby traps?
- THATS WHAT I SAID! BOOBY TRAPS! - rctech, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7alternate link with videos:
http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/08/warning-ds-lite-press-boxes-booby-trapped/ - JangoFett, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I wonder if Nintendo put one of those "flashing lights may cause seizures" warning stickers on the box.
- Amadeus2490, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9
On a related note, when you open the PS3 box, you see a rootkit in there.
ah ha. . .ahha ha. . .oi
Anywho I wasn't too impressed with the video, though I guess it is sort of original to do something like that. - TriSight, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5This is exactly why I love Nintendo so much. They take the time to give that little bit extra to their customers. I mean, something like this isn't something that people will drop their jaws in awe over, but it shows that they are willing to give just that little bit extra to put a smile on their customers faces.
- ScottyDontKnow, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5That's awesome, they should do that with everyone not just press releases! smoke lights and lasers when you get a new "toy" outta the box for the first time.
- TylerDurden0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3By the power of Grayskull!!
- Keith0256, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3This is cool. They should do that on every consumer box, not just the press kits. It sends a message of pride in the product.
- smoreorless, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Nintendo DS Lite Accessories - http://astore.amazon.com/nintendo-ds-lite-accessories-20
- Scooley01, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I digg that goonies reference.
- TheSolomon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2When I first saw that video on PA, I was thinking "So? What's the big deal." I didn't notice the led lights, and had my sound turned off... so I had *no* clue what the big deal was. It's only after this story did I learn it played a song, and went back to have another look. Now I understand. Heh. :-)
- phantom42, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2i understand the free consoles and games - im just jealous. i dont, however, understand what good it really does to give them shirts, keychains, flashlights, ds styluses, etc.
id much rather see that sort of thing go to, say, the first 100 people who buy a game on the release day. - phantom42, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3unfortunately, the average customer never gets to see these sort of things. as mentioned in the article, this sort of thing only happens with the ones shipped out to the press.
why is it that the press always gets the free swag? why do reporters who have no particular love for the company or its products get the cool free stuff (nevermind free consoles/games) while the fans get nothing? - ahhell, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3That is awesome. Nintendo is such a great company.
- Wank, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0That's cute, really.
- joehutsko, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Tugs thanks for comment, new to wordpress, need to tweak it, can you possibly contact me? Thanks in advance. J
- enantiodromia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Isn't this just something that plays video games?
- TylerDurden0, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Geez, look above - you're the first one to make that comment. ***** kid touchers on here...

- TangentThought, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2They should've had it make the Zelda sound where you open up a chest and found an item.
- ThisGeek, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3I wonder why the box doesnt play the chest opening jingle from Zelda.
(Not unlike; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XCy4C0X65U&search=zelda%20chest%20open, only video with the sound i could find.)
Dun dun dun DUUUUUUN! - Tweekster, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3yeah, think of what chuck norris would do instead

- drn666, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1This is WAY awesome, but given the climate in the United States these days, I'm surprised customs/CIA/NSA/George Bush didn't show up at his house and arrest him on terror charges.
Man, would they have felt dumb. - yves, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0That is so friggin awesome
- number8888, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1I am surprised that the bomb squad wasn't called in for this .....
