- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+19Sweet!
Time to go bananas liberating my friend's PSPs. - waytoorandomx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15Great news, awesome work Fanjita and Noobz, glad to see ya'll are still rockin' the PSP scene.
- Ahweb, on 10/11/2007, -4/+13Thats what I call good news :)
- crushfan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Oh, I DO love this routine... A friend buys a PSP then gets stuck on an official firmware - waits for one or two months and, finally, a downgrader gets released; calls me, like, "OMFG I AM THE GAYEST RIGHT NOW!" You know the rest.. HAHA..
- wetdirtmud, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9Hey, I'm playing Zelda for GBA on a PSP. Cool!
- StateofMind09, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8Great news. I was also very glad to see an acknowledgment for those who are stuck on FW 3.10 right now.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -5/+10For every 1 person who downloads this to play legitimately home brewed software a bunch more will download it so they don't have to pay for games. It's too bad people use these exploits for piracy instead of just for running cool software.
- serpentor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Not sure why you're being dugg down, I also play Minish Cap GBA on my PSP and it's awesome!
- z3021017, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Props to these guys and if you can spare some cash, donate to support the PSP homebrew community.
- TacticalPenguin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4No, the downgrader will automatically check and if needed patch a ta-082 mobo.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5As dumb as it sounds, what firmware does it go to? It doesn't mention. 1.5? A OE version?
- Phyrefly, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Ah crap, there goes the resale value of my 3.40OE...
- Kypt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3These downgraders usually (read always) downgrade to 1.5 and give you the choice to upgrade to the OE versions by yourself or just stick to 1.5. Going down to 1.0 is sort of useless and somewhat dangerous...
- Okari, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3You forgot "/sarcasm."
- h3llscaper, on 10/11/2007, -5/+8Definitely digging this, N00bz continues to amaze with everything they do.
- Kypt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Even without the downgrading potential, you should ALWAYS own a copy of Lumines. It's just an amazing game! :P
- Kypt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3You have to upgrade to 3.50 for it to work.
- zerodaysoon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2oh yeaah!!! i can confirm that it works! i jsut downgrade my friends psp. thanks noobz and the rest of the hackers, this is the best day for the psp homebrew community, daedulus R12 was just released as well!! woot woot
- TacticalPenguin, on 10/11/2007, -5/+7Yay, it's here at last.
- gotforce, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2the downgraders donwgrade to whatever version of firmware you give it (the EBOOT file)
- FatherG, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Sounds like you're running Hello World and not the downgrader. Sure you've got the right package?
- tiguy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I donated! ;) They deserve!!
- Cyber_Akuma, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I find it interesting how an exploit in GTA that works up to 3.03 was discovered long ago, but just now an exploit in a LAUNCH TITLE that works from 1.0 to 3.50 was discovered a few days ago.
- FatherG, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I'll say. It gives me a chance to (somewhat) play all of my old NES games since I don't have a working NES console anymore. Now I just need to find a way to transfer the saved data over to a PC from a cart. The battery inside of my (gold) zelda cart is still good after all these years.
- Okari, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I know what I'll be buying this weekend. I'll just have to hunt down a copy of Lumines, damnit.
- janmcbeth, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Superb! Been waiting a while for this! Well done!!!
- TheDevil21, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Awesome. This is good stuff.
- murder1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2They are stuck on 3.10 because the newer firmware won't let them upgrade. It has checks that look to see if they had previously used a downgrader.
- FatherG, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1You might not have been aware of this being stuck on 3.10 and all; an option has existed through the OE firmwares recovery mode (hold down the R shoulder while turning on the PSP) to run EVERYTHING at 333mhz. Homebrew users have been enjoying the speed increase for awhile now, the news about the increase was just on the /official/ side.
- ShadwDrgn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1yes. it even specifically says it will work on the site.
- FatherG, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1car means the /digg/ link tomi. It even says on the noobs page "dont submit a new digg for this, use ours".
- inactive, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1if you are at 3.10 and can't upgrade to 3.50 for all that sony ***** or whatever, then wait a few days and let Dark Alex the God release 3.50 OE.
- nielkie, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2The exploit runs on any firmware... 1.00 through to 3.50.
- cargreenwood, on 10/11/2007, -4/+5Nice to see noobz getting the link for a change
- gotforce, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1if your at 3.10 (and stuck due to sony implimentations) there is no way to downgrade then upgrade TO an OE... so if your stuck at that problem then your kinda stuck til someone comes out with a fix (which noobz said is the next priority)
- FatherG, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Just do what I did: troll pawnshops looking for PSPs with the original motherboards. All you have to do is bring a charged PSP battery with you to do a quick firmware check. No memory stick or game required for that.
- themastersb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1As soon as my friend bought a PSP last month he brought it to be to downgrade and put custom firmware on.
- gotforce, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1it was only up to 3.03 as sony patched the bug in patched games and in the firmware, and also its kinda of pot luck finding which games do or dont have an exploit in them.
- disdain_se7en, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Can someone recommend some good emulators for ps1 and snes? How about a good media player? I'm new to this so I don't know where to go.
- Surtur, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Your best bet is to take questions like this to a dedicated PSP homebrew message board.
- glitchbit, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I think eventually they'll have a downgrader that uses something so intregal to the psp that sony simply cannot patch it to fix it without breaking support for older or future games.
But maybe I am wrong, I have been out of the scene for a long time. None of my friends believed me when I said "yea the DS is going to slaughter the PSP once they come out". Who's laughing now. It's tough always being ahead of the curve. - fillmore, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1For PS1 emulation, you'll need to upgrade to one of Dark Alex's open firmwares. (The earliest version with PS1 support was 3.02-OEB.)
The only other decent PS1 emulator was PS1P, but there's been no updates since it was released, which is a shame. It only worked on some games, was slow, and had no audio. Still, you could play a good, albeit slow, game of Metal Slug. One guy was playing the Neverhood Chronicles with it. - 00monkey, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1did you download the 1.5 zip file.? thats where the eboot comes from that you have to change to update. the original one that stays there is HENs brew
- tomi, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2For a change? Pretty sure noobz were the ones who made the major downgraders. ;)
- theaceoffire, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1He always is. DA is awesome... but go ahead and swap to 3.40 oe for now. Better to be safe than sorry.
- theaceoffire, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Ok, three things:

- Marr0s, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1lol why am i always almost the last to get informed :'( . This is pretty awesome cuz since i bought my psp it had 3.40. Now has any other of you guys tried it? not that i dont trust noobz :D .
- loroleg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0i think he means noobz are being linked to rather than qj.net
- loroleg, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1the 3.03 down-grader patched the motherboards so i assume this would
try asking on forums.qj.net -
