- dweeb79, on 10/12/2007, -1/+34We are most likely looking at a MA rating and the AO is just to build hype because SEX would be the only reason to receive an AO rating.
- n00bst3r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30Yea, especially the Resident Evil games.

The blog link is useless. - Dominatus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27I love when someone calls someone else "retard" and then says stupid ***** like "there is none"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24Actually this game sounds pretty promising so far. It seems to be going in a similar direction to Eternal Darkness as a psychological thriller. But ya, there's no way its going to be rated AO.
- unclefrank, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22In my opinion there were indeed "non kiddie" games for the gamecube. i think thats a silly excuse personally as well, if a game is fun its fun does it matter if the characters aren't killing hookers or blowing up trains? Regardless Resident evil, eternal darkness, and other not necessarily adult themed but not necessarily child themed games (Ikaruga, Soul caliber, star wars rogue squadron, metroid prime 1 and 2, prince of persia sands of time, etc etc)
To me it just seems like the popular thing to say that all the games are kiddie. What defines kiddie anyway? Would you rather play crappy adult themed games (BMXXX) or fun more kiddie games (mario kart).
shrug. - seanthebond, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22Well, it wouldn't sell then considering that hardly any stores actually sell 'AO' rated games.
- hobbla, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Probably has simulated wrist cutting mini games or something.
- LACHRYMIST, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16cool in concept..."definately" worth keeping an eye on, but only a jackass would put an AO game out....at least a jackass that isnt Vivid. If someone could really truly make a game sooo f**kin gory that they slap an AO on...I would buy 2 of them. Promise. Thats 2 sold right there Nibris. Your move.
- dweeb79, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17@econoar
Correct but games like Doom 3, Quake 4, Return to Castle Wolfenstien, and GTA for examples all have prolonged or intense violence and they never receive the OA rating. The premise of these games are on VIOLENCE only, but when creators add SEX (long drawn out nudity or sex) will help push a game to OA rating. Game creators do not typically want to create OA games because they are a financial bust. The list goes on as to why this game will MOST likely not receive an AO rating. - behn1220, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Looks like the video links on the Nibris website are down...here are some YouTube links...

- TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Rarely do you see M games on Nintendo Platforms. But Nintendo did say they were goiing to bring some older audience based games to the Wii..
Anyway, here is a youtube link to the game preview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1HGZT8RGxk
The videos on the official site are down. - econoar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8@ dwebb, not necessarly true as the ratings website says this, "Titles in this category may include prolonged scenes of intense violence and/or graphic sexual content and nudity."
- melee28, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Looks like Bjork made a video game.
- lhnz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Maybe you'll use Mii's in Resident Evil.
*gags* - behn1220, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Oh...and a site with a name like "TechPwn" is a site that will never be visited by me.
- cmikesell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"then all 99% of Wii owners that are 16 and under can't play it either!"
huh? you can't say "all 99%" It would be "100% of Wii owners under 16 can't play it". Also, the "either" is redundant.
I think this might have been the lamest "hurrrrrr wii owners are young" post yet
If this game is half as good as Eternal Darkness then count me in. - econoar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I think Fry's is the only place that you would be able to pick it up if it was A rating. Other than online that is. Not positive though.
- bagboyrebel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I would like to believe that, but based on my experience with my Sony fanboy friends, I don't think that it's going to happen. Most of the people who even call Nintendo kiddie are just Xbox or Sony fanboys who can't think of any other insults. I was playing mario kart with one of my friends and he was complaining about how it was too cute and there wasn't enough violence, but he is also a fan of katamari damacy.
- Yidfixy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It looks like it'll be a pretty artsy game, and I'm always a fan of those. In the GTA series, the violence is more senseless, theres a lot more thought than that going into this one.
- Hellmark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3When something is unrated, it is common place to have an age restriction that would bar any one that isn't able to buy anything under the most strict rating. I've even seen Nintendo do it for some of their games that were eventually rated E. I'm guessing it will be an M.
- noseeme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Seems more likely to have something to do with Polish law or defacto standards. This is a stupid blog post with typical blog-style speculation. It's the poster's own blog, and he's sniping lots of the comments in this story.
I hope they can pull off this black and white thing. 3D videogames + B&W is hard to pull off. Just look at that Steamboat Willie level in Kingdom Hearts 2. It kind of looked like *****, and it was made by SquareEnix for Christ's sake! - belfastbiker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Ambigrams.

I guess the difference is that the characters on the receiving end might like it. - belfastbiker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3100% of the Wii owners who've bought the Wii after seeing mine in work on a projector are over 25.
- nikkie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5When I took the Wii home for Christmas (to let my little brothers play), that's exactly what my dad said.
And then "And some of the sex games will be gay!!"
(Note: He's a fundamentalist Christian.) - vashgunfighter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I felt like throwing up over your comment...sarcasm and idiocy >_> it's a trailer...get over yourself.
- belfastbiker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This feels like a Wii version of Eternal Darkness.
Which as you mayor may not know, is WONDERFUL. - b3mus3d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Would you play both at the same time? While laughing manically?
- mweflen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2if the poster of the link admits that it's blogspam, why doesn't he just link the goddamn page directly, as the very helpful commenter did midway through this page?
SPAM... - MasterFunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Most likely the ESRB would give it a M from the information we know about the game, and the track record they have. But frankly I don't know about the English rating system and they maybe more strict on intense violence, but at the same time have the stores be a little more understanding to "adult" rated games. But I have no idea frankly, and if anyone from England would like to speak up I would love to hear what you think.
- MrTea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This game looks interesting.
- MechaZain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's just the resolution for the video...
- caddoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Heres a trailer:
http://games.internode.on.net/filelist.php?filedetails=2457 - kidwithsword, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It is not because it is going to be AO. Adult Only is 18+ anyway, not 21. Any game with it RP asks for an age. To get to the Zelda: TP page, you had to confirm you were 17 or older. They are just asking because they have to.
- Judge373, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Not only does the game look decent, but it would go a long way toward dispelling any notion that the Wii is "kiddy", a pejorative which has dogged Nintendo consoles for more than a few generations now.
- altosaxon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I agree... Nintendo would never place their logo next to an AO rating, it would be a very bad move on their part.
- econoar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I agree dweeb. I was just pointing out what it said exactly, not disagreeing with you. I guess it would have to be the most intensly violent game of all time to get an adult rating. Maybe they did add some sex to it though. I dono.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Happyness is for Everyone :)
- rampy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I hope this isn't just dragon's lair game mechanics using the wiimote... count me skeptical if it's really FMV...
- wheeldawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Interesting... in the video the female player has a black Wii-mote... well maybe not black but some dark color (since it's B&W it's hard to tell).
I want one of those. - afred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1thanks stranger
- TheRingmaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The B&W part of LOZ:Windwaker was pulled off flawlessly and was one of the more memorable parts of the game. I'm sure these game developers will be able to pull off the monochrome thing considering the entire game will be like that.
Been looking forwards to Sadness since it was announced by the way, can't wait. - joevill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmmm.... I'm gonna sit this one out.
- Orlovsky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Video games ratings, are pretty much up in the air here in the UK.
At the moment, if a video game deplicts "to any significant extent, gross violence against humans or animals, human sexual activity, human urinary or excretory functions or genital organs, or techniques likely to be useful in the commission of offences." (http://www.bbfc.co.uk/faq/docs/7075.html) then the BBFC (ie, the same group that rate movies, DVDs, etc in the UK: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Board_of_Film_Classification ) have to view, and subsequently rate the game. This is, however pricey, as the BBFC is (currently) a Public limited company within in the UK. Outside of the above definition, it's down to PEGI to classify the game. (see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PEGI) - chicbicyclist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Nononono, you misinterpreted me. I felt like throwing up because I actually felt scared. and the mutant with breastesstess made me cringe because It was scary and gross.
But the bad acting comment still stands and thats what made it wonderful to me. I felt scared regardless of the capability actress, due to the atmosphere and mood of the trailer. And that's certainly a good thing for a game whose selling points are exactly that.
Should I mention that I can't wait for this game to come out??? - miggz06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yup..................:)
- b3mus3d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Maybe you'll use Mii's in Resident Evil.
*gags*"
Actually, they could use the Mii data with more realistic character models, I think.
The results could actually be good.
However, there seems to be very little 3rd party support for the Mii system currently. I'd like to see it more widely supported, as it's a cool feature. - Magnum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can't wait for this game. Just reading the info on it makes me very happy that I got a Wii. (:
