- bossm4n, on 10/12/2007, -4/+40I'll only play it if it comes with:
-greasy bowling alley fries
-cheap beer
-cigarette smoke
-ugly women - dragoneye, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20@cycledesign
Also as a serious bowler, I'm trying to figure out why you would want different weights, why don't you just attach a weight to the wiimote?, ah that gives me an idea.
1. Begin selling weighted bowling ball attachments for the wiimote
2. Buy stock in TV companies
3. ???
4. Profit!
I do however agree with the oil patterns and movement. - Import98, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18If it's not online, Wii Bowling is good enough.
- greg2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17The Wii needs an online...league supported bowling game
- Icecream, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Well done *clap*
- Detritus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Potheads? Dude, if that guy isn't on heroin he's a ***** zombie!
- cam503, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Graphics are pretty good, although this guy:

looks like he belongs at a methadone clinic. - AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -6/+19-Game - 49.99 - Walmart.
-greasy bowling alley fries - 20 dollar Deep Fryer, and a 8 dollar bag of frozen fries, from your local Walmart.
-Cheep Beer - 6 dollar pack of Corona, from again, your local Walmart.
-Cigarette smoke - Walmart helps with the smokes, but you'll have to smoke them yourself. 3.95 a pack.
-Ugly Women - Walmart doesn't carry prostitutes yet, but I'm sure if you look on the corners near one you'll find one, Their prices vary.
For everything else.. There's mastercard. :) - Dgen_X, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14I don't think you'll have trouble finding ugly women at walmart dude...prostitute or other
- jjk5, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Doesn't show any mirror when I click on it. In fact, I can't remember the last time duggmirror has gotten an articled mirrored when I needed it. It used to work every time..
EDIT: Ah, you edited your post. It originally said "duggmirror caught it". - cycledesign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8@dragoneye
Different shots require different weights of ball. Most traditional shots benefit the most by more weight, so most will want a 16lb ball. But many bowlers have a "spinner" or "UFO" shot which requires a lower weight ball, usually about 10lbs, to physically work. - manicdvln, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Unbelievable that a blowing game can look this bad, designers need only to design an alley... I mean how hard can it be?
- asquare, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7@cam503
Methadone is actually used to treat heroin addiction for the most part. Not that heroin is any better then meth :p
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methadone#Clinical_use - spydirweb, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10I generally don't like pointing out people's spelling errors (ok, that's a lie, I do), but am I the only one that can't wait for a real blowing game? The Wii has to much potential for the porn industry to not take notice!
- AntBing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Is it online at all?
- desistere, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I might point out that real blowing games have been around since the first NES cartridge didn't load correctly.
- cycledesign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Well, that's my point. There's no Wii game that could train you to be a good bowler. I'm just saying that to someone who spends a significant portion of their time with one activity, playing a game with different rules just isn't the same, and thus isn't as entertaining. Someone who doesn't know much about it, however, wouldn't care.
No one would buy the Wii Sports Baseball game by itself because it's a very simplified version with different rules. That's a more extreme example, but if this game doesn't add anything to the original Wii Sports version, then why buy it? - SpockGuy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Mirror
http://media.wii.ign.com/media/884/884980/imgs_1.html - birch25, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6all i know is wii sports bowling felt perfect. in this maintains that feel and throws in a bunch of options and features, they'll have a winner on their hands
- ldkronos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4On one hand, I'm excited about this game. A better version of bowling would be great. On the other hand, I'm a bit worried that I'll end up finding out that what REALLY made Wii Sports Bowling so much fun was the simplicity, and that more realism will simply be an annoying reminder at how bad I suck at real bowling.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3no Walter Ray Williams Jr, no digg
- magiclava, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Those screen shots look bad if they are for the Wii version.
I thought you were supposed to scale *down* graphics from a high(er) end system to the low(er) ones, not the other way round! - desistere, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Almost all beers are shipped in dark brown or green bottles to keep them from skunking from exposure to light. Ever wondered why Corona comes in clear bottles? Water doesn't skunk from light.
- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I found it funny that not once but twice in this short article did the guy refer to the Wii game as "Nintendo Sports".
- cam503, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4@Bossm4n:

- kauko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Unbelievable that a blowing game can look this bad, designers need only to design an alley... I mean how hard can it be?"
(Blowing in an alley..hmm)
Anyway, the game looks bad because it's yet another PS2/PSP multiplatformer with remapped Wii controls. I don't think graphics matter too much in a bowling game (in a blowing game maybe) especially if the controls are decent, though.
You should get used to these not-so-good looking games, because you'll be getting them as long as PS2 versions are still produced. It's just too expensive to develop for three separate "base" versions (PS3/Xbox360/PC, Wii, PS2/PSP). - Jeffler, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7Recieved from IGN, Dickface.

This game looks like suck though. :( - craigtheguru, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Sounds like some suits discovered that Wii Sports bowling was popular and tried to replicate that for other platforms. Without the Wiimote action Wii bowling is nothing! My guess is that even the Wii version this game won't get the feel of it right... and on a standard controller??? Sure, like other games I'd enjoy the higher fidelity version over Wii Sports, but it has to meet and beat the controls and I just don't see that happening. Sorry guys... back to the drawing board.
- daridave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Totally agree. But at the same time, eh, it would really have been sad if they scrapped how pins look like. xD
But who cares -- come on now, I don't wanna imitate Iwata, but it's true --- this game totally won't be about graphics -- it's all about the motion sensing. It better be good, or it's basically... fission mailed !!! - echonull, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Drastically cheaper to do it the other way round, though. Proper modeling, texturing, etc. for awesome HD graphics costs a TON of money.
- dragoneye, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@ cycledesign
I am aware of that, but in an bowling videogame the likelihood that you will have the option to play as with a spinner or helicopter style is very small and if that style was included they could have the physics engine compensate to make that style of bowling more accurate instead of complicating the system by choosing weights.
All of the popular styles of bowling benefit from using a 15lb or 16lb ball because of increased carry, so why would you include other weights if they were pointless? - copsonacid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wii Sports is going to be hard to top. The fun factor and simplicity of the bowling game is extremely addictive. The graphics on this game look a bit janky. The extra modes are gonna make or break this title. I mean, if I am going to part with fifty bucks, I want online play, and a ton of extra modes or minigames. Otherwise, I will just stick to the bowling that came free in the first place.
- Kruse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Graphically it looks like *****, imo. There's no excuse for it looking worse than Wii Sports.
If there's no online support, the game will be about as good as Rapala Tournament Fishing. - qwertydvorak, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"Almost all beers are shipped in dark brown or green bottles to keep them from skunking from exposure to light. Ever wondered why Corona comes in clear bottles? Water doesn't skunk from light."
i wish that beer manufacturers would put 6-packs in boxes like 12-packs come in so the light won't hit them. i hate when i go to get beer and they dont' have any 12pks left and i am stuck buying a 6er that is sitting right next to the lightbulb in the display case. it can't be a cost issue because the 6-pack costs 2/3 the price of the 12. - Elric1977, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Those pics look like PSP quality... I'd rather play the Wii.
- apolloandi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3i dont know if anything could be better than wii sports bowling
- kezins, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2This game is looking good
- mclumber1, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5You mean you wouldn't buy it if it was...fun?
- Wytefang, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Too bad the motion-sensing controller is nowhere near as sensitive and accurate as we were all led to believe. Dugg down for lameness.
- bittertea, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0"Is it online at all?"
hahahahaha...... is it?? - cam503, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3@xBBx: Methadone clinic = Meth addicts
Why would weed make you look like that? - xBBx, on 10/12/2007, -8/+5Haha...yea cam, I don't know why the developers didn't make a "friendlier" looking character. I mean, I know potheads love their bowling, but not that much
- cycledesign, on 10/12/2007, -12/+8As a serious bowler, I will only buy this game if it has:
- Ball weight/surface/finish selection
- Different oil patterns
- Simulated oil movement
There are several more I could think of, but that would be enough to be better than Wii bowling. - CzescToJa, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1@AndrewDBarker
Not only is Corona a quality beer, it's also out of your price range. But then it doesn't sound like you drink anything else but milk from your mothers breast.. - themattman, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3I wish the site didn't chrash
