- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+33Oh holy *****, and I thought X3 had huge galactic Maps. Spore just bitch slapped me in the face with it's greatness.
- fugazi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+33http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8372603330420559198&q=spore link
- kenplaysviola, on 10/12/2007, -4/+32+digg for direct link to video and succinct description of "That is all".
Game looks different in that it's not a FPS and not a MMORPG. Will check it out. Thanks! - qster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28dude3609. if you haven't already done it you should search for spore on here, there's a 35 minute demonstration of the game on Goggle videos. Strange how it didn't get on diggnation though, it had over 2k diggs o.O
Anyway, looks awesome I cant wait to give it a go. - eqisow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18If there was ever a game that wasn't about the graphics, Spore is it.
Besides, I think it looks good. - Lomi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Nice, I cannot wait to make my own species of spider-overlords :D. I wonder if they will talk about a release date at e3.
- PercyKittenz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Currently, it's been announced for both 360 and PC.
It may be ported to the next Nintendo console at some point, as Will Wright has expressed some interest in it. - MiamiGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Ever heard of gameplay being an important factor in video games?
- spect3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13A game doesn't need to be "next gen" to be a good game. Thought most people knew that.
- eqisow, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18"Non-Console baby!"
I could see it working on the Wii. :) - elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Are graphics all that matter to you? You don't deserve to even play games if that's true.
- Linkage155, on 10/12/2007, -8/+16Well then you better upgrade your "mac (or mac with windows or pc whatever you want to call it)" because see that cursor? yeah.. Non-Console baby!
- fugazi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9watch the video above and have your SOUND on so you can understand...

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9http://www.xspore.com has all you will need!
- Chongo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7my little brother asked an interesting question about this game. Can you evolve your species to look human?
- tempusrob, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12OK I guess I'll be the first one to ask:
What the hell did I just watch?
I am utterly confused as to the premise of the game... - goatfish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5They are also working on a DS version accoriding to job listings at Gamasutra.com a few months ago.
- ByteGuerilla, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Absolute hype kills absolutely.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Not quite - the online aspect of the game is called Asyncronous Sharing according to Will Wright. The content you create is uploaded to a master central server and is used by other people's clients. There is never Direct, Live contact with other Real Players
- ByteGuerilla, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7His description was more useful and more informative than your comment.
Get a clue. - sahaskatta, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6More Info on Spore Here:

looks like its going to be an awesome game. lets hope its good :) - Bara, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7A better way to say that would be "A game doesn't need great graphics to be next-gen" ... because if Spore isnt next-gen, I dont know what is.
Bara out - drizek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4i guess you can to some extent, but it wont be a "human". He hinted at this when showing the model editor. He said their movements look realistic because they are made up and we have no point of reference. If it was a human then their movements would look more artificial, and i dont think they want that.
- PercyKittenz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Additionally, changes that are made to remote copies are done locally. That is, you create a civilization and it is uploaded to a central server, then someone else starts playing and your content populates part of their game. But if they go over to where your guys have made a city and destroy it in their game, it has no effect on the game that you're playing. It's just using the template that you made to "seed" their world.
- solidcube, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I can't wait for this game. I want it right away.
The only concern I have is that single-player games get awfully lonely.
But then, simlife never did for some reason, possibly because it had less immersion than, say, FPS games. Regardless, I think it would be a rather foolish decision for them to include no true multiplayer, even if it was just 8-player net games in the style of a C&C or even like Diablo I.
And yes, I do know about the "massively singleplayer" aspect of Spore, which I think is absolutely brilliant. I just think it would be so awesome to be able to tool around in a world like that with a friend or ones kid. - Darkness123, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I cannot wait for Spore to come out, it will be one of those games that will make the other games jealous of it. lol
I am not much of a gamer myself :( but I would definetly get this one and spend many hours playing it as it looks so cool. Hopefully they will make a patch or something later on it in the game where you can battle other players. lol - PercyKittenz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It does sound likely that it'll come out for the DS, but all of EA's DS titles have been reworked from the ground up rather than being ports, so I would expect that version to be rather different from what we've seen so far. I'll probably buy both versions, though.
- dreamache, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Karmatic thanks for that link!
PhonicUK, according to that xspore site ( http://www.xspore.com/multiplayer.html ) it won't be real multiplayer. It's a massively single player... basically you're in a world of your own, but it is populated with creatures, planets, and other objects from other people who play online. - goatfish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Also, EA stated in their quarterly earnings conference call Spore will not ship in 2006.
- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7If you said that you would buy it because it's different, why are you making your final judgement based on how good it looks?
- KnightMareInc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4how is that?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Its use in this case is for people reporting on E3, they can cut in shots from this roll with comments they have to make about the game
So expect to see clips of that footage popping up all over the place - JustMatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah. The first thing I noticed when I watched this YouTube video is just how much they have improved the graphics since that video was shot. I mean, he said at the time that what he was showing was still just the unfinished idea of the game, but now with the touched up details, it truly looks amazing.
- kdehead, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4its my first time hearing about this game - all i can say is "wow". i hope the gameplay lives up to the promise of it. fascinating stuff.
side note : it is interesting how youtube.com has become a marketing tool. - artofwar420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Speechless, this is a game that's actually worth spending your hard earned money on.
- Presentlight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.gamingsteve.com this is where the discussion on Spore is going down.
- NerveBand, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm amazed that they will actually create such a large game. This should take QUITE some time (actually, it took 6 years so that explains it)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Haven't been as excited as this about a game release since Half-Life 2
- jruckman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1check out http://totalspore.com , it's a brand new site.
- fartingbob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I am confident this will be one the best game ever made, from a gaming and technical viewpoint.
I really hope it doesnt get delayed, i want this game yesterday. - Aldrenean, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I love the scale most of all, I think. The ability to go from a rudimentary village to a galactic empire is just friggin awesome.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3hype kills
- gowans007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2there a great bit of footage and interview with Will Wright on yesturdays release of the 1up show on http://www.1up.com
- goatfish, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Probably won't release a demo soon. EA stated in their earnings conference call that Spore will not ship in 2006.
- zediker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The part that some of the species you encounter will be created by other players, is awesome as well. X3 was cool too, until i found out that it used starforce... I immediatly uninstalled it... Anyone know if there is a way to play it without usuing starforce?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4"Currently, it's been announced for both 360 and PC.

they put out help wanted for help on porting it to the DS also. (not sure if they said psp too, but i'd only get the ds version) - Xepher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, that looks... just... WOW! Sliced bread ain't got nothin' on this. :-) Reminds me of the old SNES classic "E.V.O." http://www.rpgclassics.com/shrines/snes/evo/ I always wanted them to make a modern version of that. Wishes do come true! :-)
- minisanity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I downloaded a 300MB clip of that show, and the Spore footage was nothing new and towards the end.
- spidoman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2With all the footage we have seen why isn't this game out?! Working out AI or what? If they are delaying the game so they can finish a DS and Xbox360 version I'll just die.
