New PSP RPG with a nice art style

ripten.com — Gaia developers have announced Coded Soul. This game is a brand new Role Playing Game to appear exclusively on the PSP and we have the first screenshots here.

      Watching sprites streak across the screw is just annoying.

    It's Xenosaga's art style. Right down to the textures style and anatomy proportions. Heck, change that weird blue-black thing on of of the screenies to that big coffin mysterious looking thing from Xenosaga and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

    Not saying that style is bad, but you made it sound like something original a la Okami.

    I love JRPGs, nice to see another one making it to the PSP.

    Last good JRPG I got that was not a port for the PSP was Brave Story. Good rpg, and unlike it's PS2 and DS counterparts its actually a GOOD Brave Story game, since it chose to make up it's own characters and storyline that weaves into the main storyline instead of making a direct movie-to-game game like the PS2 version.

    Great graphics and artstyle and nice character design (What can I say, I love Yuno) for a PSP Game as well, which is hilarious considering how TERRIBLE the PS2 version looked, a site once accidently mixed up the PS2 and PSP screenshots together, I thought the PS2 screenshots were an early alpha.

    Before that..... uhh.... I think there was the Legend of Heroes games but those were basically a port of a port a port of a port a port of a port.....

    I can't think of a JRPG for the PSP that was not a port AND didn't suck before Brave Story...

    I will be keeping my eyes open for this game.
