- scottauth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I'm 23 and I didn't watch Star Wars until this past summer and I wouldn't consider myself a huge fan of the movie series. However, the original Lego Star Wars game was a lot of fun.
Now I have a question...
How come so many people LOVE this game, even though it is very simple and almost "kid-like" -- yet Nintendo and the Gamecube get slammed for doing the same thing? - daveddd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9The only reason everyone loves this game is because Jar-Jar Binks can be killed, over and over and over and over again
- crazyfan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Trailer:

- emosewami, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6You can mix and match characters. Like pull the head off of Jar Jar and put it on a Stormtrooper's body.
...or just stop at pulling the head off of Jar Jar :) - Guano, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6If you guys actually played this game you would realise how dumb those comments are.
- Jeebugorn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5ummm, why does greedo have a lightsaber?
- STKD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4LEGO Star Wars was one of the most surprisingly fun, original and genuinely funny games I played through despite hating the prequels with a violent passion. It's what games are supposed to be, after all. So who cares how old we are?
- jjk5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4That'd be great. I loved the first one!
If you haven't played the first Lego Star Wars, it's a platinum hit now so I think it's only 20 bucks. The game is really fun, and hilarious. They have announced it as an Xbox 360 title now. It's also coming for Xbox, PS2, Cube, PC, PSP, DS and GBA. - OrangeTide, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4'How come so many people LOVE this game, even though it is very simple and almost "kid-like"'
I think it's a combination of things.
1. The game is very easy to pick up. (simple). The game doesn't ask much of the player.
2. It rewards you with new visuals constantly.
3. It's a parody. and a funny one at that.
4. There is a nostologia feel to it. most people who are under 30 remember LEGOs. (and many kids today have LEGOs, they love this game too)
Now I'm wondering when we'll have a LEGO mmorpg. Pirate LEGOs versus Space LEGOs! - Rabid_Llama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I dunno... the graphics look a little blocky to me.
( *rimshot* ) - Rayonic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hah, a Lego MMORPG would be great! Each area (or expansion pack) could be based on a different Lego theme. Wild West, Feudal Japan, Pirates, Vikings, Superheros... maybe even Mindstorms?
Each race could have two or three player classes. What a kickass idea. - Wardvark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I never got around to playing the first one, so I am looking forward to this one. It looks great.
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Er...
http://uk.media.pc.ign.com/media/804/804454/img_3561103.html - Korvaras, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2OH SWEET JESUS! Greatest thing ever! I think I may need to get myself a copy of this when it comes out. All of the recent Star War stuff has really gotten me down over the series in general, but this looks like something I could enjoy.
- OwenX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"That ain't no woman! It's a man, man!"
- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The announcer's voice bugs me, but it looks good
- Protoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2scottauth: because it was a creative game, like Katamari Damacy or Viewtiful Joe.
- xpgeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Big big fan of the first one.
Yes its not that hard, kinda childish, graphics can be cheesy, maybe a little short, but ITS FUN ! Its soooo much fun to play. - scott1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2apparently you guys are 10. You need to play the game before you can be saying anything about them.
- skellener, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Was kinda hoping this one would be 16x9. Still looks good!
- cambrown99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm looking forward to the new feature of mixing and matching characters like Darth Threepio and Bobabacca. This looks like major fun.
- abiding99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yep, it's in the trailer.
- Nukem945, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I gotta agree w/ scottauth on the overall kiddie-ness of the first game. It will be nice to play the OT. Just because they're legos, doesn't mean they can't make it an interesting action-adventure. Still, I'm looking forward to it though. Cool concept.
Please let there be space battles...and maybe more force powers! - windhawk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I am old enough to have first seen Star Wars (blasphemously re-titled "A New Hope") in 1977 in a 70mm theater. It was huge and life changing. By September 2006 I will have my 50-inch plasma and am REALLY REALLY REALLY looking forward to the LEGO Star Wars II -- and the uncontaminated original version of the trilogy (which I have still on VHS). Woot!!
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Now I'm wondering when we'll have a LEGO mmorpg. Pirate LEGOs versus Space LEGOs!"
Spend your gold coins at an Octan station? - xpgeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Can'ttttt waittttt. I'm still addicted to the first one for pc.
- coding, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I didn't like the first one simply because I never got into the newer movies. I look forward to this release.
- netwookiee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I could see many games in Lego. Could you imagine "Halo 2 Legos"? Even games that noramlly might suck like "Spider-man Legos"?
Anyway, First one rocked. Glad to see this one is available for 360 too. - rickpable, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I absolutely loved the first one. Simple, yet insanely fun. Sure, it looked childish, but it's remarkable how entertaining it was. There were a few times I chuckled at the cutscenes, as well.
- aplardi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I still cannot believe how great of a game this was. If you like Star Wars and have a sense of humor Lego Star Wars is for you. I thought it was going to be childish but it is one of the best games for this generation I have played. I hope they take their time more and make the game a bit more lenghty.
- edmicman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hellz yeah! I said this when playing the first one.....they REALLY need to license this engine out, or even yet, release a "build your own game" set. Imagine having the entire LEGO universe available, to create whatever adventures you want. They've got SO much source material....you could have a medieval fantasy game, or a pirate game, or a space game, or a GTA/modern times game. And everything can be built or broken apart in Legos. Man, I wish they'd do that.
- merdiesel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Would be awsome if this made it to the 360. i'd love to play it on Live.
- av4rice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0First one was awesome. This has to be at least as good. For one thing, the source material is certainly better this time.
- odycay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is anyone online right now? Let me know.
- TylerDurden0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Or Yougurt!
- jjintheuk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I love lego star wars, when I first saw it I thought "What crap is that" - but I was suprised that the gaemplay was good and it was a very addictive game!! Its really simple which I like about it and theres puzzles and things in the game to keep you occupied
Lego Star Wars: 2 looks great, better than the first. Hopefuly they can make it as good as well, and keep the comedy!! lol

http://www.psp-uk.net - odycay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I read a lot of stuff about this game and I think it sounds awesome. I read somewhere that one guy who helped make the game likes to take Luke's landspeeder, run over everyone in Mos Eisley, drive it through a carwash, and then sell to a Jawa and get more studs for it! For those who are not farmiliar with the game studs are the currency of the game.
- abiding99, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I Think Greedo has a light saber because there appears to be a character assembly tool... looks like Han's shirt and pants?... my guess anyway.
- abiding99, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0awesome, I've been looking forward to this... I've got the GBA and Cube version of the original and wanted a IV, V, VI right away.
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1[deleted]
- turion64, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Awesome! I've never played the first one, but I believe I'll get this one since I remember enjoying the original series. Brings back quite a few memories.
Digg - potifer, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1Yeah, exactly. I loved Legos as much as anyone, but what is this need to build everything out of them?

What is Digg?
