- daven1986, on 10/12/2007, -12/+93you clearly have never had sex
- Abjure, on 10/12/2007, -2/+48EA would just ruin the game. Like they ruin everything else.
- kamilX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+35It's really nice, but I have to hope that Paramount and EA don't shut this fan project down.
- dstart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28No being Oddjob!
- EGOvoruhk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27I really wish they did the single player as well
EA should swoop them up, and get with Valve to release it - victorycig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19The new and improved levels look fantastic. I can hardly believe the level of detail on them. New level geometry will make for an interesting change in tactics from the original levels.
The classic levels also look great, and I'm excited to finally be let into the rest of the facility in multiplayer! - zeeneo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18but can you jump?!
- entr0py, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17The fact that there were technologically superior FPSs out there at the time is quite irrelevant. Goldeneye had a good story. And just about all the levels were tons of fun. The goals to reach to get all the cheats gave the game huge replay value, and the multiplayer mode was phenomenal.
So what if someone else had ragdoll-esque physics or 927 different weapon choices, Goldeneye was, and still is, one of the best games ever made. If your criteria for 'what makes a game good' doesn't include how FUN it is... you've got bigger problems than we're willing to help you with. - rejectpenguin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16download the game here:

- awm4, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Every Bond like game since goldeneye sucked Donkey balls
- awm4, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Russian Commandant.
Stack.
Rockets.
First to Ten.
Auto aim off. - Gism0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Yes!
Hopefully we'll eventually get the original goldeneye on the Wii too! - booc0mtaco, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Meh, when I played the original, i somehow did not miss the ability to jump. It was fun enough seeing people trapped on the top deck trying to get away in the stack.
- NecoDivad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12This looks so beautiful, I could almost cry. I'm a freshmen in College, and so far we have played more classic Goldeneye here than anything on X-box, PS2, or Gamecube. It was...an almost perfect game.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Yeah, I agree... I still play Goldeneye all the time, and it'd be fun to go through the single-player campaign in this mod.
- afex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9i agree, but i believe it was confirmed that this would never happen since Rare is in the MS crew now... : (
- yowhat2002, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9or citizen 3! that guy was a bastard.
Trick the newbies into being Jaws...always a good one.. - szembek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7From the FAQ:
Why isn't Oddjob really small like in the original game? Will he be resized?
-Oddjob will not be unrealistically tiny like in the original game as the model is based off of the actor who played Oddjob. - yowhat2002, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7you cheatin' bastard
=P - AZNundercover, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Finally!!! I can relive the moments of playing as Oddjob and shoot everyone in the nuts! YES!
- victorycig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6This is most definitely NOT a mirror. Don't click link.
- Soniti, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8*****. Goldeneye was a classic, when all there was on the PC at the time was Duke Nukem.
Get your head out of your ass.
Also, those _classic versions of the maps look straight out of the N64- I was really suprised that they could remake them with such accuracy.. And the newer maps were very pretty on their own too...
~Soniti - zengonzo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6 Everything or Nothing was quite worthwhile, and unique.
Nothing similar to Goldeneye, of course. - spindle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I'm not so sure it will be that popular. There was a Goldeneye mod for the original Half-Life which was very well done, but there was usually only one server with people playing, and even then there'd only be about 4 or 5 people playing at a time if you were lucky. I'd love for this new mod to blow up, though, because I loved playing the original mod, and this one looks even better.
- RichyFreeway, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Soniti: *****. Goldeneye was a classic, when all there was on the PC at the time was Duke Nukem.
Urrrm, Goldeneye was released in 1997. By which time we had not only Quake, but Quake 2. - awm4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Think how awesome Golden eye's multiplayer would be on a next gen system playing online.
- CYR1X, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4yes there is a server side option for jumps!
- awm4, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5No being the second moonraker elite either, that bitch was too short.
- yowhat2002, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Same here man, our sixth form common room has golden eye tournaments going all day, everyday.
- UNL1M1T3D, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Actually that's not true. Taken directly from Goldeneye Source's Official Web Site:
"GoldenEye: Source is a modification of Half-Life 2, with only one goal in mind; to bring the memories and experiences from the original GoldenEye64 back to life using Source Technology. We want you to look at this mod and remember the first best multiplayer first-person shooter ever made. We are doing our best to bring in the opinions of the community to create a game that everyone is going to enjoy. But, we are not here to recreate the game exactly how it was in GE64, a lot of things have changed since they first designed that game, mainly in technology and gamers experiences. We are here to take the game even further but at the same time provide a lot of those fun elements that hardcore GE64 fans will enjoy. We've got experienced team members all across the board, from professional level, to amateurs looking to make it into the business working hard to make this dream a reality."
I for one am totally geeked about the game. It looks great and the fact that you can use a keyboard and mouse is going to be incredible. I am actually going to buy Half Life 2 just to play the mod. - masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm glad that they've continued to develop this game and not lost their steam after all of the things they've been through over the years. Even after the creator of the mod killed himself, they promised to finish the mod, and they're keeping their promise.
- ratbear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Ah, the good old days, when my only responsibility was to get stoned and play all night goldeneye deathmatches
- yowhat2002, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeh, thats cuz oddjob was a midget and only the people who'd learnt to play solitare style had a chance against him.
- kevnaca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Does this mean his hat will be his knife? Very nice.
- WanderingGuru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Actually as of the end of this year EA will no longer hold the rights to the Bond franchise in the gaming industry... I believe that went to Activision.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Um, no. Third party mods in general just never are as popular as official steam games, because a lot of people simply never download them.
- UNL1M1T3D, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2School, pah what did that get anybody. Goldeneye forever!
- UNL1M1T3D, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I would love to play the single player also, but I will take what I can get.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Wow, I remember when I was 10 and I finished "Facility" in under 2 minutes. I was King for a day.
- MrBungl3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Oh man.. I Hope this gets big. Can't wait to play facility_classic again.
Also, i home there's a "slappers" mode:p - Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I doubt it. The team is very determined to keep the gameplay as similar as possible to the original.
- SuicideInvoice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The copyright owners shut down the map remake of Facility for Doom 2 a long time ago. It was pretty popular with the mod Action Q2. Sad to say, I will be very surprised if this doesn't get a cease and desist very soon. Hell, it's still unclear if Goldeneye will be available for the Wii virtual console due to copyrights...
- deesto2789, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1complex is by far my favorite map of all time
- Ravenlock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Temporarily working link to the video... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2000087197344630972&q=goldeneye+source
- Jonh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Working video please.... ?
- Dog_Paddle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow. This has more more excited than any other game coming out currently.
I wish I could play it with my friends, like back in the good ole days. - nowhere3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlKpmmU2RVo
Working YouTube link. - AzzX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice work GE:S Team!
- caddoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the alpha that was released a few months ago was great and seemed pretty much bug free, I thought it died after the death of one of the main members of the team.
