New Background on Blizzard.com - Diablo 3 or Warcraft 4?!

wowriot.gameriot.com — Blizzard is announcing a new game this weekend. The screenshot has embedded artwork from Frostmourne, while the filenames and latest industry buzz points towards Diablo 3. All the rumors are compiled here.

    Why 232309? If we assume that the numbers correspond to the letters in the alphabet we get 232309=WWI ... ring a bell? :-) World Wide Invitational

    Anyway, if you look at the CSS file for the website, there is an image that has been commented out. The line reads:

    the "hidden" picture is called 04.jpg. (http://us.media.blizzard.com/232309/_images/04.jpg ...
    My guess is that tomorrow we'll see a picture called 09.jpg, then on Wednesday we see 01.jpg ....

    Today is 04.jpg = D
    if Tomorrow will be 09.jpg = I (if its not, maybe not diablo at all )
    Wednesday will be 01.jpg = A
    Thursday will be 02.jpg = B
    Friday will be 12.jpg = L
    Saturday will be 15.jpg = O (June 28 WWI 1st Day)
    Sunday will be 3.jpg = 3 or three.jpg or whichever. = (June 29 WII 2nd Day, and once again, the B-day of Diablo)

    Maybe I'm totally going out on a limb here, but we'll see.

    IGN did an article on this: "What is most interesting to note about the image is a small symbol in the center left of the piece which shares a striking resemblance to the etchings on the Frostmourne sword, protagonist Arthas Menethil's evil and powerful weapon which debuted in Warcraft 3."

So some smuck at the office put it online, that doesnt mean theyre planting clues as to announcement.         Obviously they arent having a WWI just to talk about WoTLK, but I think the evidence that this image has everything to do with it is non-existant. It's a bunch of people jumping to conclusions, looking at what is obviously a WoTLK image, and screaming "zomg, it must be Diablo!".

You know theyre at least going to talk about Wrath, and then theyll update the website with the new info. This image is part of that, nothing more. As I stated in the very first post of this thread, Im not saying that theyre not announcing a new game, Im saying this image has nothing to do with it, there is no evidence, or even a logical reason to think it does.

          Honestly, nostalgia isnt a bad thing, but so many people want a new diable theyll grasp at any straw to make a case. Maybe the announcement is D3, I dont know, but this image will have nothing to do with it.

It was found as a SPLASH PAGE that was redirected when you tried to visit blizzard.com. THAT is how it was found. It is a splash page, that when clicked redirected to the respective site you were trying to visit. Go to blizzard.com, type it in the address bar. Lemme know what you get.

    - World of WarCraft
    - Redesign of Battle.net Page
    - StarCraft II

    I highly doubt that it would be something as simple as a release date or an announcement pertaining to WotLK (unless it is something VERY VERY big like it going free or something that no one sees coming [not happening]).

    It will be interesting to see what it ends up being though.
