- CaptainEO, on 10/12/2007, -10/+26I do care, I have a Japanese version.
- crazybrit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Wow, someone needs to get their sarcasm detector checked.
- Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Probably the same genius that threw the propane tank onto the fire, lol
- crazybrit, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16Wow, this makes Nintendo awesome somehow, in a way that doesn't even make sense! SONY SUCKS!
- imikedaman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10The guy was cleverly predicting how people will try to spin this into positive news for Nintendo, while those same people would take similar news for Sony as a sign that they're doomed.
So yeah, total sarcasm. - Blah_Blah_Blah, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14I wonder what genius brought an open flame to his power cord to find that out.
EDIT: Misleading headline. The power cords are FLAMING, not flammable. Way different. - elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11"You can identify these units by looking for the "JRC" tag in the lower left corner of the A/C adapter."
The picture shows it on the lower RIGHT hand corner. - jmz635, on 10/12/2007, -7/+14There is more to the world than America.. Maybe you should get out more?
- aegis9975, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7>>Wasn't it the Microsoft Xbox that had the power cords that caught fire?
Yes it was, seems Sony, Nintendo, MS have have all had problems with products catching fire.

- MisterCookie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Inflammable means flammable? What a country!
- Cruelapollo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Boy, the look on my face when I found that one out....
- dacheetah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I think you mean burried as inaccurate...
And yes, the title is inaccurate, but it's close enough to get the attention of those who need to know (the people with the recalled japanese DS chargers), and once you get past the slightly inaccurate title, the article, I imagine, is accurate, even if badly translated.
I'm diggin it to help ensure that people who own an affected DS will find out before thier charger eats them. - D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3So yeah, i can't remember the last time i charged my DS, but i use it all the time....
The battery life on those things are insane(or maybe it is just mine...) - Bob042, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5The logo (that isn't JRC) on mine is in the lower right of the plug side, so the translation is wrong, picture is correct.
- Cruelapollo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Many, nice attempt at trying to bash Nintendo though.
- imikedaman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wii wrist strap but DS power cord.
- dacheetah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Everywhere the speaks English. The definition of inflammable is almost identical to the definition of flammable. Unflammable is the term you would use for something that is not flammable, although flame-retardant, or fire-resistant aremore common terms. (Fire-proof is used often as well, although, they only mean typical-fire-proof, anything can be destroyed by a hot enough fire.)
- dacheetah, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Wow, damn cheap with kickarse games and lots of potential and one hell of an inovative and cool controller. Wii rules.
Wow, costs enough to feed a third world country for 3 years (minor exageration) with games that are almost identical to the past two playstations, with no innovation, endless bugs and nothing worth playing that you can't get better and cheaper on an Xbox 360. PS3 sucks.
Not that my opion on either matters too much since I've got the Xbox 360. Although, damn tempted to get a Wii as well. Wouldn't buy a PS3 if it was the last console in the world though.
(let the troll war begin) - Stonedonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've been using that thing as my alarm clock, and it goes weeks between charges. However, I haven't been gaming on it much, so take that for what you will. I also find the chime to be a lot more pleasant than the standard alarm clock blaring -- that's no way to wake up! The DS alarm even starts out quiet and increases steadily in volume, instead of making you flinch in your bed.
- fallenone05, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2just because of this comment, i really wish you were flammable...
- blork1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The wrist straps were not recalled. Nintendo are just offering new ones for 'tards with slippery hands.
- meznak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The slimline PS2 had a similar problem with power supplies. I was rather surprised at how quickly mine was replaced.
- bluemist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have a Zebra tagged adaptor...
whew... - NiGHTSChao, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh I'm sorry, wheres all the nintendo pissy ***** now?
People love to bitch about Sony's problems while avoiding all the problems nintendo has - meznak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wrong reply. digg--
- daridave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That's a tinny number if you consider the number of hardware sold.
- GameCop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You're correct. My bad. :-P
- rkuchiki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dugg for "The nintendo co. AC adapter coal center". That made me snicker.
- dralezero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Someone dared to call into my Target and ask if there was a recall on the Wiis
- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Probably the WD-40 guy.
- mcr2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Nevermind wii straps" wtf?
the straps were perfectly fine in the first place
nintendo just did a recall for the straps because morons swing their controllers at the tv at 95 m/h - BigSlacker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I would "most likely" since there is 300-400 a year. Here's just last month:
http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prerelnov06.html - BigSlacker, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Actually they were probably SMOKING (cue Jim Carrey). My guess is the the charger was pulling more current than expected and the power wire started heating from being too thin. Fast charging batteries can take a considerable amount of current.
- GameCop, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Dugg as inaccurate for title.
- zetsurin, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4Wow, dodgy wrist straps, no current online games, poor launch lineup, a browser you will eventually have to pay for, no HDD.
Wii sucks. Glad I bought a PS3. - greenamp, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Man, I think the main thing going wrong with the Wii is that people love it too much. When players are flailing their arms so hard as to launch their controllers through their TV sets, and when they are playing their Wii so long as to make the power cord catch on fire, it must be an awesome console.
And yes, Nintindo Marketing Dept, I am for hire. - GoldYoshi, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Psh, recalls aren't really all that bad, and isn't most stuff flammable if you try to light it on fire, too? Companies, not just Nintendo, are all recalling things for reasons that don't cause too big of problems...
- chriskzoo, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3LOL, has any company had 2 recalls so close together before?
- interrogate, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Before anyone complains about this being inconvenient, the new inflammable ones are MUCH better!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2This and the strap thing are THE ONLY THINGS that parents (that don't do a lot of video game research) will see and they will think about not buying Wii's for their kids.
I hate this. - mdobbs, on 10/12/2007, -8/+0...and that's what they call the "Kansas City Shuffle"
- D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2relevant how?
Nintendo+bad component = a good product with flaws
Sony + bad component = good product with flaws
same goes for Microsoft....
This doesn't make Nintendo awesome...just good with flaws(as it always was and will forevermore will be) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -15/+3It's getting worse every day for Nintendo. What a sloppy company.
- Ninjab3ar, on 10/12/2007, -19/+6So that means that Sony makes their power cords, right?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -37/+4I dont care, I have an American version
