- Shogi, on 05/18/2008, -0/+242THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!!
I demand to see unhindered mammaries in my video games to compensate for the complete lack of action in my life! - DarkStreet, on 05/18/2008, -7/+211I'm not sure what to say... it's not even like it's a nipple! It's just... underboob, FFS! I've seen worse on magazine covers in family supermarkets.
- GOVStooge, on 05/18/2008, -3/+123FREE THE BOOBS!!!!!
- inactive, on 05/18/2008, -1/+97How does she fight with those things?
- tutfire, on 05/18/2008, -3/+88Half of the fun in soul calibur games is the ridiculously revealing outfits. That's just how it is.
- AydenV2, on 05/18/2008, -4/+69It's outrageous the amount of sexual censorship we have in this country, versus the major lack of violence censorship. Whats more dangerous to a child, seeing a natural body part or a graphic decapitation?
- surian, on 05/18/2008, -2/+66First they censor sideboob, now it's underboob, soon it will be topboob and then all boobs will be gone! It's a sad time to be an American my fellow boob lovers.
- apophenic, on 05/18/2008, -2/+61I think the change in skin color from very pale to somewhat darker is far more interesting.
- LimeParrot, on 05/18/2008, -13/+65"This will not go down well with die-hard fans, Namco Bandai. They're not in this for the swordplay."
lmao, that's so true... I know a few soul calibur fans and know EXACTLY what they're in it for xD - MikeXpop, on 05/18/2008, -1/+47As opposed to all those bachelor supermarkets?
Come to think of it, I'd like one of those in my neighborhood. - Thousand, on 05/18/2008, -0/+43How does she fight with those things? I don't know, but by the look of her clothes I bet she has to do it every morning while trying to get dressed.
- xippilli, on 05/18/2008, -5/+46I don't blame NAMCO. What with how America is reacting to all the other video games with the slightest bit of sexually provoking thought, it doesn't surprise me that they'd rather censor things than put out what was actually intended.
It shames me as an American to see this kind of thing, to see how game companies would rather censor their games than even risk any kind of negative feedback that will slow down their sales in this country.
Well..of course, that's assuming this is the case. - LamentMoon, on 05/18/2008, -2/+39Mmhmm.
A friend.
Right. - inactive, on 05/18/2008, -0/+34Well, if you look closely at the Japanese art, there is an IGN Logo on Ivy's left boob!
- Aggrocragg, on 05/18/2008, -4/+36Underboob or GTFO!
- Evolutuon, on 05/18/2008, -0/+30The breasts are covered, but the soul still burns...
- chrisbosh123, on 05/18/2008, -1/+31Japs censor porn.. but we don't censor porn.. we censor video games' character that doesn't even remotely resemble porn. O the irony...
- Cruelapollo, on 05/18/2008, -0/+29Her primary method of attack involves smothering her opponent.
- TheDirtyCarl, on 05/18/2008, -0/+22THAT'S what they play soul calibur for? Haven't they heard of the internet?
- lonehunter01, on 05/18/2008, -3/+25I like boobs.
- culbeda, on 05/18/2008, -0/+19"I've never heard of such a brutal and shocking injustice that I cared so little about."
- jeremyfohferemy, on 05/18/2008, -1/+20yeah you got the joke....but you slaughtered it
- gllopc, on 05/18/2008, -1/+20As an American, I want to tell our brothes abroad that yeah, the large majority of us like the boobs, and don't think it's going to destroy our children if they see it. It's just that we have a few very christian conservatives with a lot of money and power that muck it up for the rest of us.
- gllopc, on 05/18/2008, -1/+19I understand they are considering selling hotdogs and donuts.
- cquinnd, on 05/18/2008, -1/+18Sorry stk198323, but the gratuitous favoring of violence over sex in US culture existed long before feminism was a valid concept.
- a3r0, on 05/18/2008, -3/+19They only sell melons and cucumbers
- adml_shake, on 05/18/2008, -1/+17I'd almost rather see her in the American one. In the other I'd keep getting my hopes up that they would pop out, and just suffer another disappointment.
- jaalin, on 05/18/2008, -2/+18the blurring out has to do with the genital area which is traditionally perceived as a "sacred area" by japanese. as western norms start to pervade in modern culture, the blurring has been less prevalent as well.
whew, ok, enough trying to sound intelligent. AHH KIMOCHI DAME DAME DAME AHH IKU IKU IKU - Sp0rAdiC, on 05/18/2008, -1/+16...so you got something to look at while you're talking to them!
- AllenAllen, on 05/18/2008, -3/+18Yes.
- bullox, on 05/18/2008, -1/+16You don't have to be a virgin to like the way women look.
- 007kz, on 05/18/2008, -5/+20Om nom nom?
- culbeda, on 05/18/2008, -0/+15They would be so small that every neighborhood should have one. You only need 3 isles: frozen foods, magazines/condiments and another everything else. Hell, it would be a lot easier to find things.
- FDL1, on 05/18/2008, -1/+16SHOCKING that Kotaku sensationalizes news.
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 05/18/2008, -2/+16***** American Puritans.
400 years later and they're still ruining it for the rest of us. - FishHammer, on 05/18/2008, -4/+16Who cares? There are plenty of uncovered boobs on REAL women on the internet. I'm not quite shocked by this.
- Dustmuffins, on 05/18/2008, -0/+11boobs give me life.
- Narcowski, on 05/18/2008, -0/+11Voldo?
- Acglaphotis, on 05/18/2008, -1/+12The other half is imagining whats beneath the ridiculously revealing outfits.
- Recusant, on 05/18/2008, -5/+16Darth Vader?
- autoacat, on 05/18/2008, -1/+11I wouldn't be surprised if Namco Bandai was slapped in the face with an M-rating from the ESRB, forcing them to tame down the game for a more marketable T-rating. The fan service in Soul Calibur IV was rivaling that of the Dead or Alive series which has been receiving an M-rating for quite some time now. I also don't know if there would be a legal catastrophe if the relatively family friendly Star Wars characters were used in an M-rated game.
- ciano, on 05/18/2008, -0/+10Yes, but if you look closely, there appears to be a fishnet "bra" shooped into underboob the American picture. That's the part people are upset over.
- Startemus, on 05/18/2008, -2/+12Why God gave women boobs is beyond me. They so don't appreciate them.
- Firehed, on 05/18/2008, -0/+9Well, that was a disappointment. But thanks for the excuse to look closely anyways.
- Startemus, on 05/18/2008, -2/+10Buried for speaking ill of big boobies.
- p0tent1al, on 05/18/2008, -0/+8meh, that's just a color filter on the entire picture
- jasmus, on 05/18/2008, -1/+9Shock. Yes, shock. I am denied cartoon breasts, I demand... oh wait, this is the internet right? Type just about anything into google image search. Problem solved.
- oblique63, on 05/18/2008, -2/+10really?... the last thing images like these make me think is 'virgins'....
- RisingAgainst, on 05/18/2008, -0/+8I wish they censored manboobs. Seriously. The credits scene in dodgeball scarred me.
