- da5idblacksun, on 10/12/2007, -4/+31I'll upload it to youtube. These file download sites are so old school. There should be no reason to have click "download" on seven consecutive screens to see a video.
- commiecat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27@phpirate
I adore ONS in 2004 and still play it quite often. The main reason for the hoverboards wasn't so much to appeal to children, but that they wanted a single-person transport that would get you from one node to another. Hoverboards are for transportation only without any weapons or anything.
If you're playing on a >16-person server it really helps. There's nothing worse than half your team starting the match in vehicles while the other half have to double-jump their way to the first node.
I'm a total UT fanboy so I'll support any 2007 news I see here (already dugg a post for this video, though). - edzieba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21People are forgetting this is Unreal Tournament. You don't play it for an immerse plotline, or creative new game modes, you play it to blow each other up in the most satisfying ways possible. Graphical quality is often a part of that satisfaction.
- Silentshadow900, on 10/12/2007, -8/+28@ilyag - No matter what you say in the comments, you're going to get modded down. Digg's comment system sucks. Now mod me down you bastards.
In other news, the fact that I have to download this from a subscription-based file downloading site is retarted. Any youtube mirrors out there? - Crispin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19To hell with Fileshack.
- up2l8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19ut2005? Must have missed that one.
UT2004 was far better than 2003. The additional game types and vehicles added a dimension to the game that was lacking in the other releases. - SAOSiN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19They zip the file so you or your friend can't stream the video on your stupid blog using his hosting.

NEW: Unreal Tournament 2007 Trailer (INCREDIBLE!!!) - no
NEW: Unreal Tournament 2007 Trailer (UNREAL!!!) - yes!!!!!!! - ActiveMatx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17I agree. Not only is Carmack a genius but he is also a very nice guy. He is tottaly for open source coding and always gives away the code to his games after he has made all of his money....
I mean, what other game company out there has given out their source code for free! He gives away the source to Quake.... Quake 2.... AND Quake 3....
Not to mention, when Quake 2 was pirated and ported to Linux.... instead of taking legal actions he instead, helped the community to port the game to Linux.
Then, Creative goes over and sues him and forces him to place their software into Doom 3, which is tottaly off the wall because it was Carmack who invented the patent that they held..... - shit, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19DID YOU SEE THE HOVERBOARDS!??!
- da5idblacksun, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Recently John Carmack said that graphics have kind of reached a limit and so it's all about game design. When I look at this trailer I see the same old design.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17No torrents? 111MB+ file and no torrents?? Have they a death wish???
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+22Problem is, I want more IMMERSION and interaction and room for creativity. Tribes 2 give me that, Farcry give me that.
If I see a mountain; I WANT TO CLIMB IT. With UT I cannot do that. I can just hump it.
I want ENVIRONMENTS that give me the feeling of being there (rain , hail , snow flying dogs the lot, sunrise sunsets storms) not arcade machine like Mario brothers.
I want to use this as an escape from reality. I want more and more immersion.
This is why Tribes2 was FUN, this is why FarCry was FUN. - danjal, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Thats it? i'm very disapointed.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Not too big for Google video :) and you can make money from it too :)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Here's a mirror of BugMeNot2's mirror... just in case.
http://www.bandwidthorbust.com/mirror/169_ut2007_ot_pc_082206_hd.zip - ActiveMatx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9BugMeNot2 has a direct download link HD quality. WHich means zero pages to click through. Cant be that.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -13/+22LOL, who's modding me down? Midway's PR department?
- grve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8UT series were never meant to be some single player immersion scenarios
its pure multiplayer fast paced deathmatch at its best, you join and frag others - suicidal-kid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Fileshack = *****.
- dawgma, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9It's for the higher quality obviously.... if I have to click through 3 or 4 screens to get my HD video, so be it. It could be better, but I appreciate having access to the HD version over a YouTube version.
- MSeven, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6get your torrent here:
http://www.gameupdates.org/details.php?id=544 - Promantarius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"If you don't have a FilePlanet l/p by the year 2006, welcome to the internet. Try using BugMeNot."
Every fifth site you visit (conservatively, it's more like every second site) has an option to sign up. It's pretty ridiculous, I don't blame anyone for not wanting to sign up to be able to click a download link which can (usually, but not always) be obtained elsewhere (legally or not).
Fileplanet doesn't exactly offer much for signing up, you don't lose the advertisements unless you pay, you still get the same difficult to read layout (who the hell designed their navigation? Light coloured background with black lines with white text over the top?) pretty much all that you get is the ability to post and click download links. Whoopee, I'd rather take my five minutes and spend it ranting about site signups. - AwesomeMonster, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11Carmack is a genious, I'd trust every word he says. The doom 3 engine is still used and used very well to this day.
- clarkmoody, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Totally agree with you on Tribes 2!
One of the best games ever. I still don't know why the jet pack idea didn't catch on with more mainstream games. It really allows for high separation of still levels (like when you can hit someone with a disk in midair!). - RainOfTerror, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Also on :

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6***** ***** ***** i hate fileshack
- Jeffrey903, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Why was this even put in a zip file? Both the zip and the wmv are 111MB (the zip is a few bytes smaller, but when you are dealing with a file this large, those bytes aren't going to matter).
- zeeneo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8i'm not impressed by the video either.
- phpirate, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10It's the PC version, which is nice. I only had two problems: First, the new UI doesn't look as great and "simplified" as 2004 was. This one looks like it has a lot of unnecessary stuff, but I can deal with that.
I think the major thing which ruined the whole "Unreal Tournament" feeling was those stupid hoverboards or whatever. The Onslaught gametype was actaully a good addition, but the hoverboards appears to be appealing to the teen age group. Maybe its just me, but that doesn't feel like UT if it makes it into the final game. - da5idblacksun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Ohh man it's too big for youtube. No wonder.
- ActiveMatx, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Yeah, I agree. Death match is getting kind of old already. THe only thing new I saw in the video were skateboards.... "woo-hoo, skateboards!"
/sarcasm
Well, I am thinking that new Half LIfe Portal Feature is like the only new feature to gaming in a while.
Right now I am looking forward to Quake Wars Enemy Territory, and Battlefield 2142 (although I feel that BF2142 is released too soon. I got BF2 on release day, and I still feel like I am not quite bored of it yet.... why release a new game so soon?)
I never cared much more unreal games. I played them all, but only for like 2 hours max, each one. I just am not one of those "unreal" guys. I want to be.... just cant get into it..
oh wait, I did enjoy Unreal XMP but that game quickly got shut down by the desinger to push out unreal tournament.... which i think sucked, cuz Unreal XMP was a really cool and interesting game. - jovada, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6FileShack might not be the ideal site for sharing this video:

wait: 39 minute(s) - tysonm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8carmack IS a genius. i still maintain q3 is the best game created to date.
- DoctorNo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Its the same issue with all FPS games, including Carmak's own Doom3 and Quake4.
There really isn't too much in to add in terms of gameplay anymore after hundreds of FPS games, as Carmak himself has shown with Quake 4. One thing they can add is polish and improved visual experience, which this UT2007 has in spades. Looks incredibly fun to play.
Steps forward in FPS are few and far between; Doom, "mouselook" in Quake 2, new multiplayer gameplay methods in the first Unreal Tournament, Battlefield multiplayer, etc.
IMHO next great leap in FPS will come from Cell Factor:

- rumor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@clarkmoody you might want to check out starsiege 2845

This is one of the aspects of Digg that I find most bizarre...
I've seen this same thing happen more times than I can count.
I've said it before, I feel that Digg would be even better if you could ONLY mod up comments and NOT mod anything down. Why? because then people would have to actually think about what they are doing out of fear that they might mistakenly promote a concept they disagree with.
Right now people mod down comments that they don't like (whatever happened to "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."), or don't understand, or didn't take the time to actually read.
It's wrong! Wrong I tellz ya! :) - Dvs.Ctns.Hvrms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4REALLY!!
where on earth did you get a coppy of UT 05? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Requires Signup. No Digg!
- MatttK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The game areas looked nice but empty. Where's the fun if I can't pull a radiator out of the wall and use it as a bullet shield?
- berfmurret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@ ilyag
i was in awe when i saw that UT2k7 footage. a little bit excited. 'the next step in gaming' i said to myself.
but when i just watched that crysis gameplay i almost cried a little bit. that was amazing. - IvanB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Also on
