- itseffinkasey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I want the N64 controller to work on my Wii.
- detrate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Ninja, you've successfully failed in understanding how acronyms work.
- drlha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9You just don't get the same old-school calluses using the Wii remote sideways as you do with the good old uncomforatble NES controller.
- Ninjab3ar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8why not just turn the wiimote sideways?
- Ninjab3ar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8lol, im a dumbass, disregard my last comment.
- LocDawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7How does one "successfully fail"? If your aim is to fail and you succeed, have you succeeded or failed? (This post is made of fail.)
- n8r0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I buy all my old controllers at Goodwill or other thrift stores. Also, I have found that GameCrazy, the game stores attached to Hollywood Video, have a good selection of classic gaming controllers and carts.
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I second the Game Crazy. The one in our area is EXCELLENT. For older games, is it 10X better than EB. Also, try your local flea markets. You can always find deals on older systems and peripherals there.
- shit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The Power Glove plugs into a sensor box that plugs into the Nintendo. IIRC, without entering a code for game-specific features, the sensor detects the movement of the glove and translate that to D-Pad control, while movement of the index and middle fingers works as A and B buttons. If all else fails, you can turn the damn thing sideways and use it as a very painful, impossible-to-hold NES pad.
Point being, you should be able use the Power Glove with this product because the Power Glove is nothing special. - n8r0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3To be honest I play it with the GCN Wavebird and it is very fluid and natural.
I have not purchased the classic controller yet. - n8r0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The flea market can be good and bad. I have found that the flea markets have a better selection than GameCrazy, but GameCrazy has much better prices. I recently picked up Zelda and Zelda II, both gold carts, for a $1.99 each at GameCrazy. I could not find them for less than $15 each at the flea market.
- LocDawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Best option ever = Hori Gamecube retropad. I own two of these bad boys, and I can confirm that there is no "nintendo thumb" after hours of ikaruga and soul caliber 2. and they are cheep. http://www.estarland.com/GameCube.product.14442.html
- n8r0n, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I own a Yobo ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Game_Console ) which I play all my old NES carts on. It also uses the old NES controller ports, which is great for those of us who have the old controllers. I do not think I will be buying any NES VC games, unless they release some that are really hard to find.
So far the only gmae I have purchased from the VC store is Super Mario 64. - theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Haven't gotten SM64 yet, because my N64 is still hooked up! Anyway, how is playing that on the Wii? I would think it would be weird without the "correct" controller. How long did it take for you to get used to it on the Classic controller?
- insomniac8400, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I forgot all about that store. I checked gamestop and they had nothing older than 3rd party N64 controllers. Thanks for the tip.
- insomniac8400, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Anyone know a good place that sells official snes and nes controller? Or at least really good clones.
- shawnanigans, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Me too, the 64 controller was the weirdest controller but so good, and really comfortable though if you look at how you were supposed to hold it, it shouldn't have been. Plus DAMN I want OOT so much.
- Ninjab3ar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2you can! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS_87WoJ0j8&eurl
- n8r0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks for the link, I think I am going to pick up a few.

- arkowi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It would be cooler if this thing plugged into the bottom of the Wii-mote in effect making it wireless...Wireless from the system anyway, like the Wii Classic Controller.
- zanthrax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Great, more wires.
This is not the product for me. When unpacking my Wii I was quickly annoyed by the amount of wires... these extra controllers and convertors would only create a bigger ball of tangled cords.
I'm perfectly fine with my classic controller and wavebird. - Hazardc, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3ok, the NES one is cool, as would be a sega one, but why are they selling a snes one? the "classic controller" is 20 bucks, and is virtually the same as a snes controller with a couple analog sticks tagged on, plus it's "wireless"....not to mention it costs the same price as this pigtail adapter
- Quakes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@LocDawg
Well, technically, you've succeeded at failing, and failed at what you were trying to fail at. - theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The only SNES controller I could see using is the Super Advantage. But compared to the Sega Arcade stick, even that one was retarded. To this day, I have never figured out why the hell Nintendo did a 2 over 4 button arrangement on there. The Genesis had a much more sensible 3 over 3.
- jbayone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It would be awesome if you could use the Powerglove too.
- AdamalNZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice collection he's got there. Wii, PS3, Xbox 360. Even has a Mega Drive and a Mega CD.... I mean, a Genesis and a Sega CD... ;)
I think it would be cool as a novel flashback item, but you'd get over it quickly. Its the same design (basically) as the Master System control pad was, all squarish and pointy. I'd spend hours playing, and my hands would feel all cramped and funny.
Then again, I guess that would be a good way to make you take those breaks every hour that the game manuals keep telling you to have! - caddyalan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0There were retro styled controllers for PS2 and Gamecube (the latter was Japan exclusive AFAIK). I was thinking about purchasing one, but never got around to it.
- MatttK, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Why isn't Nintendo making something like this? It seems like a no-brainer. They can even rip us off and overcharge us. I'll buy it. :(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Cool. I wish I could use the original NES pad on my 360 to play Gears of War.
That would be fun. - UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -8/+5As soon as I can verify my old NES controllers are in good shape I will preorder this. SMB isn't the same with any other controller.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2i don't get the point, the nes is just a 2 button controller with a dpad, why spend extra money just for the 'nostalgia'- it won't make the game any better
- CraigJ, on 10/12/2007, -11/+52600?
- z00k, on 10/12/2007, -13/+6http://www.retrousb.com/wii.html - Site that sells the product
This site was already posted here a long time ago, Dugg down for blog spam/dupe. - kob102186, on 10/12/2007, -12/+2Great idea, now only if it was Wireless!
- gmurray, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2How do you have SMB on your Wii?
- Ninjab3ar, on 10/12/2007, -16/+1Smash Brothers Brawl?
Ok, I know Thats not what he meant, but hey! - icepick314, on 10/12/2007, -20/+0i thought Wii came with 4 N64 style controller ports....
