- Sornos, on 11/06/2007, -2/+45I'm not angry, I'm just passionate.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+44I'm not passionate, I'm just an *****.
- Beelzebub, on 10/12/2007, -0/+31I JUST WANT TO PLAY UNREAL TOURNAMENT!!
- Cerealkillr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30I think that every person on Xbox Live should read this article sometimes.
- noreturn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27N, I'm Bb's brken keybard.
- bigstinky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26Years ago, I gave my 75 year old Dad my old PS1 (yes, it still works) and a copy of Chess Master. It amazes me that he still plays to this day. My Mom will call me every now and again to tell me how he's having a nervous break-down, cursing uncontrollably, and that he's damaging her furniture.
It's not just the young folks that are angry gamers.
...He cheats too. - mc7winkie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22The best the thing to say when people are "passionate" about the game is to just go "You're taking this way too seriously. It's just a game." You have no idea how much that pisses people off.
- wrzhydr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20I am Bob's broken keyboard.

Game: Mike Tyson's Punch out.
About a week later...
Approximately the 50th fight with Mike Tyson, 1st broke controller I ever had.
And then one day came Ninja Gaiden. But that's another story. - superal1394, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19Anyone who tries to listen to those annoying ***** with headsets on xbox live should read this. I have broken a few controllers in my time.
Wireless controller; luxury, or speeding projectile? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Punching a pillow/animal is not satisfying at all.
- scottylist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12And the title of Angriest Gamer goes to...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBVmfIUR1DA - SSCrow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I almost Broke my Controller on Ninja Gaiden as well.
I hate Alma.
But those days have since passed. Alma is a Piece of Cake now. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Hmm...or, if you live with an angry gamer, you can do as I do: put a MAC filter on the router and block their 360, PS3, or whatever. And if that doesn't work, flip the circuit breaker. They'll probably throw a ***** fit for 10 or 15 minutes, but after that it's all good. Bottom line: no more game, no more gamer rage. Problem solved.
- bIuebonics, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10punching a pillow is no good. but i disagree about the animal. punching little kittens is always a pleasurable pastime. ;)
- wazaw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Strangers with this kind of honesty make me go a big rubbery one, if you know what I mean.
- Jpantoga, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8LEEEEEEEEROOYYYYY JEEEEEEEENNNNNNNKKKINNNNSSSSSSS
- qbproger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6he's an angry gamer because he can't finish a level? I remember back on the NES when games actually were hard. Requiring fast reflexes and memorizing the levels. Maybe he's angry because he sucks?
- mcottier, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I actually have two holes in the wall. Is that bad?
- bdub92, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5http://www.destructoid.com/elephant//ul/3515-468x-Image2.jpg
Priceless! - konkushn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Back in the olden days of the Commodore 64, my cousin and I were playing Summer Games. My cousin got so mad at missing a pole vault that he bit this heavy duty joystick - leaving a huge tooth mark in it! At the time it was the toughest joystick made - it had a red handle with a white button on top.
Ahhh.. The good ole days - AK10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm surprised that their solutions to these issues were basically "ignore them" and "make sure they don't break anything expensive". If I were living with someone with such anger control issues that they were acting like this over a game, I'd either have them seek help or move out!
That said, BOOM HEADSHOT! - richofsilence, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Why are people digging you down?
I guess some people take stupid games too seriously. - bIuebonics, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4i used to be an angry gamer. i don't know how many nes controllers i've gone through, not to mention the hell i put my adventure island cartridge through. now i just smoke pot.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3just shout "*****!" or "dammit!" and get over it
- Gir53457, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Should have read the article before I replied to the thread.
- LaGStAr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I don't know about the nerf controller, theres a sense of satisfaction, when your angry, when somethings breaks.
It just wouldn't be the same. - nixon956, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3games are for fun, if you aren't having fun don't play them
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ignore angry gamers on xbox live? Pfft. I like to further their rage by taunting them.
- xt0ph3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"4. If you are playing online with an angry gamer, just ignore them. Fighting with them only takes away from your fun. If possible, just put them on mute."
Well, that's just not true. If done correctly, it can enhance your fun. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow. If you're that angry just turn the system off.
Either that or find a server (assuming its multiplayer) with people who suck and then take out your frustrations there >:D - mikewhalley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No, it's perfectly normal. They are called a door and a window. You may now relax.
- boris4ka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1When I get pissed I lose even more, because I try to do things faster and slam the buttons too hard, making it over-react. In games like gran turismo and counter strike.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+510 tips? 10 TIPS? There's only one thing to do, and that is pummel the little ***** HARD. If the loser can't stand being a failure in some irrelevant little game, how will he stand being a total failure in real life?
Slap the ***** until he behaves. If that's not enough beat him up. It's not like he doesn't deserve it. - Gir53457, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2http://www.gearlog.com/2006/11/pelicans_nerf_wireless_control.php
- b04155, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'll admit freely that I've gotten out of control when playing a few games, but in my defense a lot of the frustration comes not from losing but from poor response / programming. I've had my wife tell me to stop yelling at a game when I've been winning but it turns out I'm yelling because poor quality programming.
Yes I've heard, "but it's a quality game, it must be you".. so I've had my friends play the same level / scenario I've been yelling at and have dissected my rationale for yelling. Most of the time they see my point; now their reactions are different e.g. just drink some beer and chill, but for the money I pay for a game I expect consistency and reliability. Mostly this all stems from the 'vast PlayStation library'. Yes, Sony has more games than the we've racked up in national debt, but quantity quality which can be a valid reason for yelling at an otherwise piss poor game.
as a side I've gotten the Wii and have noticed the much higher quality of work that goes into each game. - Flon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2If you really get worked up by just a game, you need to learn when to stop playing.
- counterstriker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sweet I love the illustration at the bottom of this article. I think all gamers have become The Angry Gamer at some point in their lives, of course some people are angrier than others, in fact I think I am going to send this to my little brother right now who has broken four xbox controllers so now our xbox only has two working controllers!
- actorboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ ak10
Best advice yet. - graemee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I found the tips lacking, but a good start
Tip 11-99
It's just a game .
Tip 100 - Set limits to your limit. If you are the type to get angry at nOObs, being camp to death after death, or you just suck, we ALL have those days, set your limit to stop playing or move to a different game/server. This has really helped me. I used to get "grumpy" and a few dead mice prove it. Now I have learned to move a long and not be a stubborn dick when I'm getting my ass handed to me. I'm helping them not me by getting angry. - neks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just registered at Dtoid, but logging in doesn't work for me, so I'm posting my comment here:
The article in a nutshell: If you're engaging in silly, compulsive behaviour that might, as a minor side effect, leave some scratch marks on your environment, don't try to change your behaviour -- change your environment! If it's not you but someone else, and it's going on your nerves, don't try to help -- ignore it!
How the ***** could anyone mistake this ***** for useful advice? - maiku00, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Is there anything worse than an angry gamer? Ugh, its so pathetic. I lose total respect for people when they come over and start freaking out. At least I know I won't be inviting them back again. Do most kids grow up never learning not to be sore losers?
- Mega64, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1These tips seem to be nice for someone who throws controllers, but what about someone who gets so pissed off he can break an original Xbox with one punch? I ask because I had a friend who actually managed to do that.
I think that's the point where you use less anger management and more sedatives. - skyfire1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I love making fun of angry gamers all the time. It's evil but the possibilities are endless.
- sol1964, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've broken 2 PSX controllers, 2 N64 controllers, and 1 SNES controller, and 2 television remotes, and my copy of Street Fighter Alpha 2 for the PSX....wow, that sounds pretty bad when I actually list them out.
This reminds me of when my cousin got so angry he actually ripped his copy of Top Gear for the SNES out of the system, taped against the wall and shot at it with his pellet gun. Do you know how angry you have to be to go through that much effort? What makes the story even better is that the game still worked! Even with the hole in the cartridge. Thinking about it always makes me laugh. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1getting angry is part of the fun of playing online! its much better to get angry at anonymous people than at bots.
- sh4rkb1t3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, thanks for burying my copy and paste of the text on this POS blog that comes up on the front page every 6 hours.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1reminds me of this kid: http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=15537
- VioletArrows, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Usually when I'm pissed I just turn the game off and not play it for 6 months. Only thing I've ever broken when truly OMF angry was a wrist strap.
***** you forever, Wii Boxing!! *tries to punch the trainer guy in the nuts and ends up hitting him in the face* DAMMIT!!! >.< Please dear God let Punch Out and Fight Night be better.... T_T -
