That's how it goes, earthbound here is mother 2 there. Mother 1 was intended to be released in the US, but they cancelled it just before they finished translating it. Mother 2 (earthbound) sold poorly in the US so most are unsure if Mother 3 is going to be brought over, despite hundreds of thousands of people wanting it.)
The similarities between Mother and Mother 2 are easy to get confused, just remember; Ninten for mother; ness for mother 2.
Oh, and the satellite thing colin mentioned, It was a redone version of earthbound with slightly changed graphics and names.
(there was also mother64 that was cancelled, and Mother1+2 that wasn't released here.)

I have been waiting for this game for as long as I can remember, it really does have its own huge space in my heart, and in the hearts of so many freaking people, as I'm sure Nintendo will soon realize if we keep trying.
