More Wii Secrets, Revelation Coming
kotaku.com — In the latest bit of death by PR, GamePro has confirmed that Nintendo isn't finished telling us about the Wii. No, they still have anywhere from a "big Wii revelation" to a "couple of other surprises" to spring on us before the console is in our hot little hands.

- Gustomucho, on 10/12/2007, -53/+4I think i know the secret :
You can buy new peripheral for your legs/feet, using 4 "remote", not only will your arm/hand be involved, but your whole body! *or maybe 2, nunchuck+remote plus the leg-strap peripheral.
Jumping jacks, fighting, jogging....
or maybe I just gave you a good idea Nintendo!- Samus, on 10/12/2007, -18/+2lol the summary is full of typical, but possibly unintentional Wii innuendo, 'a big Wii surprise' 'a couple of other surprises' 'hot little hands'
- crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -19/+2I don't think Nintendo is into pedophilia as much as you seem to assume.
- VipeNess, on 10/12/2007, -22/+10im calling it right now. its either 2 of the following.
1.) Wii Supports to 720p, and or any other HD Resolution.
2.) Wii Connect will allow any and all users to download any previous games from the NES, SNES, and N64 system for free, because of the very small file size of the games. My friend along time ago, use to work at nintendo, and had a white NES cartirdge that had over 120+ NES games on it, with all the titles on it. said like nintendo programming at the beginning of boot up.
from all the images and movies i've seen on the internet, the resolution is playing back bright and clear, and doesnt give that fuzzy feeling that the gamecube gave because it wasn't hd, being sd. - b3mus3d, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22gustomucho-
Why did you post that comment again?
Last time you posted it (on another Wii Secret article) it got dugg down. Did you really think anything different would happen this time? - ElectricGrandpa, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24VipeNess, you're wrong. Firstly, it wouldn't be 720p... If they had that they'd have announced it a long time ago... and the system would cost more, and it would have more processing power. The demos look better because it's 480p(DVD quality)...
Second... The file size of games has NOTHING to do with how much they cost. You're paying for the actual game, not the cost of downloading the game. Why would they throw away this excellent potential source of revenue?
The "revelation" is most likely something much more mundane, like some kind of new channel or a new kind of DS+Wii connectivity. - Alphateam, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3ElectricGrandpa is right. There is no way they are giving the games for free. Look at all the carts they redid for the gameboy. They put Metroid, SMB,.....I'm sure there were more, but put those out at like $20 a pop. There is a market for it, so no it won't be free. Look at how much success Xbox Live has with its cheap games. I'm a cheap bastard and I'd pay a few bucks for some old classic games. There are MANY spoiled kids out there who will be getting the cheap games.
I agree too that it will be something like the DS connecting to it like the SP and the Cube. That really is a no brainer. - MatttK, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Why would the surprise be that the DS connects to the Wii? It was announced quite a long time ago that the DS would be able to connect to the Wii... thus, it wouldn't be a surprise.
Then again, Nintendo has before "revealed" "surprises" that were already well known... :/ - staticneuron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10"VipeNess, you're wrong. Firstly, it wouldn't be 720p... If they had that they'd have announced it a long time ago... and the system would cost more, and it would have more processing power. The demos look better because it's 480p(DVD quality)..."
Considering the Wii is going to be just as powerful (if not more) than the original Xbox I do not see why the system would automatically "cost" more to output 720p. Hell if the PS2 can hit 1080i why in the world can the Wii not do it? I find it hard to understand why so many people are saying that nintendo wont (and even cant) to had resolutions. It makess no sense. - Gustomucho, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Actually i didnt know which on off the 3 would become the real tread, so I just copied it all over.
If there was a better control on duplicate stories, you would only see me once, but if the story is repeated, I repeat also, and I bury all the copycats.
Same goes for the "new X360 fall update" there was about 20 digg on it, I didnt have a thing to say about it, but if I did, I would have copied it all over.
Sorry, just doing what I thought to be the easiest to be seen. and it worked, so Kudos to me.
btw one I have -46 and on the other I have +34, so it all depends on your perspective.
- bevanl, on 10/12/2007, -25/+5Nintendo do not want to reveal (or wiiveal) any of their secrets yet, so they will scare the competition later.
- bloodylip, on 10/12/2007, -4/+30As has been proven at E3, Sony will just throw together a cheap knockoff in time for the PS3 launch if they reveal it too soon.
- KiriA500, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2^
Could you be more wrong? Sony already has what Nintendo is "keeping secret" patented. They've had the patent since the late 90's.
Duh.
- martinj88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+49maybe it plays Dreamcast games...........well you have any better idea's
- bloodylip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19I would be in heaven if DC games were on the Virtual Console. I'd love to play Power Stone again.
- masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Well, the fact that a DVD-capable version has been confirmed as being planned for Japan (Japan only.... again) could be one possible "secret."
Then again, as Nintendo has shown us time and time again with this system, we haven't the slightest clue what the hell they'll do next. - noodlez, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5that would be the best thing EVER
- agent888, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5i'll take sega sports tennis 2k2 for DC + wii-mote for the win alex
- KiriA500, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'd love to play Shenmue again! Let's hope it IS Dreamcast VC games! :D
- chriskzoo, on 10/12/2007, -31/+2DVD playback? 720i? What piece of antiquated tech could Nintendo be feeding to it's minions now?
- flippinjeremy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26Nintendo has their marketing right this time around. They know what they're doing, and will execute it well. At least I hope so.
- mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -18/+3it walks the dog, does dishes, does laundry, vacuums, and does most other chores for you...
- HAKdragon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9But does it make thousands of julian fries?
- Wisgary, on 10/12/2007, -15/+9But does it run Linux?
//.
- PunkFenixJT, on 10/12/2007, -40/+2You know, i know i'm more than likely gonna be voted down for this (since digg users are wii-centric), but, i'm still not impressed by it. Do I like the virtual console? Yes, but all my older counsoles still work so no big thing to me. the whole motion sensitive controller thing i honestly is going to end up being gimmicky. When i want to play a game, i don't want to be swinging my arms around like a maniac or anything. I want to relax and just enjoy the game. If i wanted to swing my arms around and get tired from something, I'd go outside and play a sport. I'm very content w/ my 360, and honestly, I will probably buy a PS3 before a Wii, but thats just me.
- TheG2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+36People have been over this, you don't have to swing your arm like a maniac, small flicks of the wrist work just as well.
- xerus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+55Honestly, if you get tired from moving your arm a little while holding a 3 ounce plastic remote, then you may want to rethink your life.
- doodlebumm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Jabba?... Jabba?... Is that you?
- felyduw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I wonder if your thumbs don't get tired... at least waving is less likely to give you Nintendo thumb -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_thumb
- technique, on 10/12/2007, -0/+38They'll anounce a bogus feature that they aren't going to really implement just to see if Sony copies it
- skyshock21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17In that case, they should announce that the Wii will brainwash their execs to eat a goat scrote.
- TheG2, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10*SPECULATION*
Honestly though, Nintendo has executed this launch brilliantly, I haven't seen such a huge marketing blitz for a product like this in forever, and I have yet to even see a single commercial yet.
Back to the OA though, it was posted yesterday and the popular theory was that Wii play was going to be bundled with a new Wiimote. 720i/p would be amazing, but the odds of that happening are a bit slim.- sundancekid503, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Since the boxes are already in production and we've seen the scans online it won't be anything that would change the specs on the box. That said the revelation is probably something more along the lines of an virtual console game or software.
If it was a *really* big revelation it would have been announced already, this sounds like more of a teaser. - apoc06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1hmmm... final fantasy remake?
- sundancekid503, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Since the boxes are already in production and we've seen the scans online it won't be anything that would change the specs on the box. That said the revelation is probably something more along the lines of an virtual console game or software.
- killinger777, on 10/12/2007, -19/+4They're going to change the name so you don't have to feel like a sissy for buying one.
- AzraelKans, on 10/12/2007, -14/+4This is duplicated, and also it is old.
The "secret" is: The wii will have a DVD player. Thats it.- drlha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4If true that will be the lamest "Megaton" ever. I already have several things capable of playing DVDs hooked up to my TV, I don't need another.
- AzraelKans, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Oh btw heres the source of that info I didnt made this up.
http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=20729
The Wii will hae a DVD player, ok? thats it.
And this post is duplicated from
http://www.digg.com/gaming_news/Rumor_confirmed_BIG_Wii_revelation_comming_around_launch_date
- zetsurin, on 10/12/2007, -28/+3Let me guess... another ***** Mario game. That will turn the world upside down. Oh brother.
- xerus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24It'd probably be better than another super badass space marine from the future* game. (*A post-apocalyptic future, of course.)
- musntSurfatWork, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1Maybe it will include a wack-wii-matic© to entice saving Princess Peach to Adolescent basement boys.
- mjparker75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21I think it will be that select Nintendo and Super Nintendo games can be uploaded to the DS via Wii Connect 24. This would work with the Virtual Console and would trump the PSP's PS1 emulator. The only question to this working is whether or not DS has the memory to hold these things, if even just until the system is shut off.
- drlha, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4That would be awesome. They already did that of course with the GBA and NES games if you have Animal Crossing and the GBA->GC cable.
That said, is the DS powerful enough to do full speed SNES emulation? I thought not. - mywhitenoise, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2That seems very logical, and I hope you're right. For some reason I think this "big" surprise will only be something dumb, like a Wii-channel. And if they add DVD playback a year later, i'll be pissed...Only because I hear a DVD player with an NVIDIA chip kills a topnotch $700 player.
- Wisgary, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12@drlha
It might be if you're Nintendo and have access to every nook and cranny of the SNES' architecture and can properly code an emulator from scratch. - mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11hasn't N64 games been rereleased for the DS like Mario 64? so shouldn't NES and SNES games be easy to rerealese for the DS?
- Leo55, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It is totally possible.
GBA could do it... why not the DS?
Actually, i was thinking along the lines of sending actual DS games to the DS itself. - TheThirdWheel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I like SNES games as much as the next guy, but do we really need another way to play SNES games? I can currently play every SNES game on my PC, on my dreamcast and on my XBOX. The fact is I rarely do, the idea of having SNES games is a lot more fun than the reality.
- grumbel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3### That said, is the DS powerful enough to do full speed SNES emulation? I thought not.
There already exist a homebrew emulator in the form of snesDS which works very well speed wise, its however rather feature incomplete. However since Nintendo themself mentioned that they will 'enhance' some old games that might not be an issue, i.e. if there is some effect that DS has throuble emulating, they could simply remove or change it into something that the DS can emulate. - felyduw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's probable it will be something along those lines but through the DS Download Play and not in some sort of memory card. I guess that would make more sense considering the hardware involved.
- staticneuron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"This would work with the Virtual Console and would trump the PSP's PS1 emulator."
I know I might be speaking in the wrong crowd here but the PS1 games have just as much nostalgia as the Snes and Genesis games, I am not so sure trump would be the right word to use. - mrgreen4242, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"I know I might be speaking in the wrong crowd here but the PS1 games have just as much nostalgia as the Snes and Genesis games, I am not so sure trump would be the right word to use."
Ug. There was about 5 good games for the PS1. They in no way compared to the greatness of the SNES. The only console that, in my mind, has been better than the SNES is the GBA SP.
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario World
Zelda
Super Metroid
F-Zero
Pilot Wing
Star Fox
Yoshi's Island
Name one PS1 game as CLASSIC as any of these. - staticneuron, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy series, Vagrant Story, Resident Evil series, Tekken series, Wipeout series, Gran Turismo,Parasite Eve, Silent Hill, and Metal Gear Solid, Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, Brave Fencer Musashi, Breath of Fire series, Bushido Blade, Chrono Cross ( bite me I actually understood and enjoyed this game), Darkstalkers series, Xenogears, Vandal hearts, valkyrie profile, PaRappa the Rapper, early Gex games, Rival Schools, guilty gear grandia, erghiz, king of fighters series
And MANY MORE that I can't think of right now.....
One title that is a timeless one would have to be symphony of the night and another that is instantly recognizible and cant vie for the title would be Final Fantasy VII. Only 5 games? I understand you like nintendo but it is fact that the PS1 had many classics. Even if you don't consider them classics many other people would and the PS1 to this day still had a larger installed base.
- drlha, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4That would be awesome. They already did that of course with the GBA and NES games if you have Animal Crossing and the GBA->GC cable.
- roboninja, on 10/12/2007, -11/+6It has already been said before, but apparently people are not hearing it; you do NOT have to "swing your arms around like a madman" to use this controller. It has a high degree of sensitivity that allows for small movements to control on-screen actions. Sure, some games like a table tennis game might ask you to emulate swinging a paddle, but they are in the minority; most games will just require you to twist and turn the controller with your wrists. Hate the Wii if you want, but making up reasons to hate it is fan-boyishly pathetic.
- Wisgary, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3I'm sorry, but what does this have to do with anything?
- Seibei, on 10/12/2007, -15/+0I don't think the Wii's gonna be all that great when it comes out, Nintendo allways seems to be below Microsoft's Xbox and Sony's PS2 demand-wise, with the expectation of a few good games. (such as SSBM, Metroid Prime..)
But even the recent titles are being released for only the PS2 Xbox, and Xbox 360, Nintendo seems to be a little left out.- Alphateam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5ALWAYS below Microsoft and Sony.....
They have been selling systems ALOT longer than either. How about the Gameboy/advance/sp/ds. Those suck and do nothing for Nintendo. I mean the PSP was HUGE success and Microsofts handheld is second to none.
/sarcasm - foofightrs777, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You're clearly 14 years old and can't remember anything pre-PSX. Hell, I dont think you realize that even now Nintendo makes money every year.
Does Sony? Yes.
Does Microsoft? Nope.
Sometimes there's almost greater issues at play than "demand" as well.
Anyway, play all systems. Don't make up your mind which is "best" prior to having the opportunity to actually play 2 of the 3. It's amazing how many people on digg already know that the Wii "rocks" and the PS3 "sucks" and vice-versa. Geez. - mrgreen4242, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"It's amazing how many people on digg already know that the Wii "rocks" and the PS3 "sucks" and vice-versa. Geez."
I can safely say that the PS3 sucks without playing it. Why? Because no matter how awesome the games are, how great the system is, it's not worth $600.
- Alphateam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5ALWAYS below Microsoft and Sony.....
- raikou310, on 10/12/2007, -16/+1Actually Sony had a patent for their type of controller much longer before Nintendo came out with theirs.
- Calypsoaf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14What doesn't Sony own a patent for?
Seriously, they even have patents for virtural reality simlators that jack straight into your brain. Does this mean they will actually develop it or put it in use prior to the competition? Only time will tell.
- Calypsoaf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14What doesn't Sony own a patent for?
- chriskzoo, on 10/12/2007, -20/+1I honeslty PRAY that it is DV playback just to see how Wii fanboys find some way to get excited over it. Maybe to counter the PS3 packing in a Blu-Ray movie they will pack in the 80's movie classic "Super Mario Bros." on DVD.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7That movie was made in the mid-ninties.
Am I the only one getting sick of these secrets? Just tell us!
- mywhitenoise, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7That movie was made in the mid-ninties.
- FrogKermit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2They haven't said anything about when or how Wii Music is going to be released.
This might be that Wii Music is another pack-in?
It would be a way for Nintendo to make up for the retailer-inflated price of the system (Seeing as how they wanted to launch it at $200).- nonesupplied, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3My guess is that Wii Music will come packed in with a Wii Remote (much like Wii Play is proposed to be, and the mysterious game, Wii Motor Sports could be). That way you get 4 fun Wii games and 4 controllers. Makes the price tag seem more reasonable.
- ccanni1028, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They're teaming up with iTunes to allow .m4a and .m4p files to be played.
It has to be true, I read it on a blog where an unnamed Apple executive leaked it to the blogger's friend.
- ohmuffin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9they are going to package the bundle with The Wizard for our viewing pleasure
- halfnormalform, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I don't know if anyone here remembers that movie, sadly. (Or not so sadly.)
- PlaguedOne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That would rock if I didn't already own The Wizard on DVD. :P
- fak3r, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19..at the end of the Wii presentation, Satoru Iwata steps up to the mic and says, "Oh...and one more thing..."
- bobafonte, on 10/12/2007, -30/+3"Oh...and one more thing...fak3r is GAY!"
- shuffle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Did you come up with that all by yourself? Bravo.
- foofightrs777, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"...the Wii is available in our online store immediately. Orders will ship in approximately 2 weeks.
- solarisom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I keep imaginging that Steve Jobs and Iwata stand on the stage and announce that the Wii and the iTV fuse to become...TWii...then I wake up.
- wallyson, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Its smart to hide really nice suprises. Dont let everybody know what this machine is capable right off the bat. I bet next year, they will release games and an update to play games at 720p. Its up to the devs. Just wait and see.
Nintendo may really make a comback. I hope so becuase there the underdog. - mr.hostility, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2They have contracts to produce games people really want to play? I would buy if that was the case.
- velvet396, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Is anyone going to Digg the article on gamesindustry.biz that reveals Wii's DVD playback in the future for Japan only?
- Moria, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Megaton!
- IOIIOOO, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Didn't some patent filing for the Wiimote show that it was also to work as a microphone at one point? Given that Nintendo has made moderate use of the DS mic for games and how popular karaoke games are in Japan, I could see this happening.
Of course, maybe they dropped that functionality due to issues between the mic picking up the Wiimote speaker sounds.- jonnyq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I really hope you're right and that there's a mic in the wiimote. If they could prevent any feedback problems, I can see lots of fun things to do with both a mic and a speaker in the wiimote.... like a skype-style phone or lots of fun in-game stuff.
- Microtosh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Maybe the Wii will terraform into a 10 inch Mecca with the DS, and use it's 'nunchuk' to wreck havoc and do my bidding
after I finish zelda of course. - scoyndizzle, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2This made me pretty excited that they still have more things to release about it. I'm pretty curios.
Besides the info the article was pretty damn funny. - pumacub, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1The secret is three numbers and one letter.
- isthisnametaken, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1umm, and what is that?
- vhold, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I find it weird that so many people are hopeful for 720p. When the whole HD question first came up, virtually every Wii supporter's line was that 720p was pointless because nobody had HD anyways and that graphics weren't such a big deal.
Did a lot of you suddenly get HD sets inbetween then and now?
Also, for what it's worth.. it's.. remotely hopeful that at some point in the Wii's life it could do 720p in select games. The PS2 has had various games support 420p, 720p and 1080i later in it's life. - cjschmidt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think they'll take the "channels" concept further and announce streaming video channels (YouTube, ABC, NBC, FOX, USA, SciFi). I know many people who would buy a Wii for this alone (and eventually get hooked playing games). This would fit in perfectly with Nintendo's current strategy and provide a controlled environment for the networks to stream their shows (with commecials, probably). Who wouldn't pony up for a Wii if it meant you could catch up on Battlestar Galactica, sword fight your old college roomate 1000 miles away, then watch the newest Lost all with the same remote.
- MatttK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2YouTube? They already have a browser with flash, so I think you'll already be getting YouTube on your TV. ;)
- loureiro97, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2for as much as I'd like to believe that, it just doesn't seem to be possible due to the enormous bandwidth that would require. ;( .
- foofightrs777, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It could always be a subscription with the first x months free. Unfortunately, while a nice feature I don't see that motivating too many people to purchase.
- cjschmidt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If the networks could force us to watch an ad or two, bandwidth cost wouldn't be an issue at all. As far as bandwidth for watching the show 480i can easily be managed on most broadband connections. XBox Live has toyed with video distribution (mostly HD), but the Wii could really put a user friendly face on streaming video.
- kelbear, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I expect Wii "Achievements" like the Xbox360.
- isthisnametaken, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1that sounds reasonable
- tymaishuz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Price drop to $200 like every other Nintendo system launch? Probably wishful thinking but we can still dream, right? But still, $250 for a system and a game is a steal compared to the PS3's $500-$600 price tag.
- maduin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1The Wii is the next generation of portable gaming.
- Zarxrax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3My guess: You will be able to download demos of nintendo DS games and then send them to your ds, just like at the DS kiosks in stores. Who the hell is going to drag their ds to a store just to download a temporary demo anyways? Letting them be downloaded through the wii just makes sense.
- Royall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That was announced long ago, actually. DS and Wii are going to do many things together, hopefully more conveniently than the Cube and the GBA.
- mysteriousm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0The most likely scenerio is that the Wii will have the ability to play DS games via a peripheral or it will have the ability to play multiplayer DS games using the wii-mote to compensate for the touch screen by using download play (or both).
- IheartZombies, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0I bet when you open the box you notice that your nintendo wii is packaged in small blue diodes and a note that says "Pwned". That would truely be the ultimate secret.
- isthisnametaken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I think I'm about done with Wii rumors. There were over 30+ articles on Digg claiming the Wii would be $199 or sometimes even $149. Let's just wait three weeks...
- AzraelKans, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Oh crap, Nintendo fanboys and reality like oil and water.
For the last freaking time is the DVD player! it has already been confirmed.
Come on guys THINK a major feature (such as HD support or a new game or a game bundle) will never be presented outside E3 or a major media outlet.- mrgreen4242, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't think you are correct. I'm not saying it's something crazy and amazing, but I don't think it's the DVD player. They've confirmed that Japan will get a Wii w/ DVD functions, but that the US/EU will not. Why would Reggie, a NoA spokesperson, be talking up something that has been confirmed won't be available in the US?
- AzraelKans, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2because Nintendo of America loves giving Information like pulling teeth?
It has been confirmed IN JAPAN it just has not been confirmed in the US that means they dont know if its available in US or not. Regis would have to confirm that. Ergo... "guys! we have a FEATURE you dont know about and I wont tell to hype it a lot more than its worth!" - mrgreen4242, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"It has been confirmed IN JAPAN it just has not been confirmed in the US that means they dont know if its available in US or not."
From what I read it was explicitly stated that there were no plans to bring the Wii+DVD combo to NA or EU, not that it just wasn't confirmed.
- KyleMistry, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Oh my god. "Wii revelation."
I'm sorry, but I just laughed at that. - jellygraph, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Another reason for me to ignore Kotaku
- RealG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The wii secret:
You will be able to download skype
the wiiconnect24 will keep your skype online 24X7
wiimote will act as the perfect wireless phone with his mic and speaker
Think about it... - somelifeguard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2common you guys, obviously the Wii has a built in microwave.
- SouthernComfort, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0**/cough**The United States (American) version of Wii WILL HAVE DVD SUPPORT **/endcough** Also any browsers/online apps have not been greenlit for the Wii...no online browsing (Nintendo is worried about possible Virii/spyware.) To connect to friends you'll need a certain code you gain by registering...no lobby areas like Xbox Live. Taken from a reliable source. Releases on the 19th...PS3 on the 17th.
- SouthernComfort, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Oh hey also, Wii will retail for $250.
- optikshell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I know people have already suggested/debunked the idea... but what about Mario Galaxy for a release title? The ONLY thing that made me a bit curious is the fact that the three other games featured on the Wal-Mart buyers guide (with help from IGN) cover are release titles... yet Super Mario Galaxy is the 4th one. I don't know why they'd show that screenshot on the cover other than for brand recognition.
Anyway, here's the link to the image if you missed it: http://gonintendo.com/wp-content/photos/wii_cover.jpg
