- mabsark, on 11/11/2009, -11/+234I don't know what you were expecting. The whole PC gaming community pointed out that this is what would happen. Perhaps you should have listened to your peers, instead of a corporation trying to fleece you. You bought the game, and now you've got what you deserve. I have no sympathy for you.
- Sansui, on 11/12/2009, -4/+135I refused to purchase this game due to the way they've castrated the PC version. One of my friends did not take my warning and purchased through steam, and he is currently trying to get his money back. HAH! I wonder if he'll have any luck :P
I tried it out on his system, and he does have a great, fast connection. There was one time it was obvious his machine was the host, and playing felt just fine (and it should have). During that game I had a ridiculously high k/d ratio of 38/2. There were several other games that were laggy as *****, and I encountered the host migration once which I found to be disruptive and annoying.
Overall? It's not always terrible, but it's never really good either. It's just 'meh'. It's a very poor sequel to the quality that was MW1 (despite the very well made and polished maps, kudos to the designers). I've even lost the urge to keep asking IW for dedicated servers anymore - I just don't care anymore.
Obligatory ***** Activision and their dirty money grubbing CEO Bobby Kotick - iVisionX01, on 11/11/2009, -11/+138***** IW
- pathouston22, on 11/12/2009, -6/+113I would like to extend my thanks to Razor1911.
That is all. - jeremymccurdy, on 11/12/2009, -6/+90Holy ***** that's terrible. It's even more aggravating when all the reviews are talking about how multiplayer on PC is improved from COD4. Yeah, the game clearly doesn't need dedicated servers you ***** greedy *****.
- dagnabbit, on 11/12/2009, -2/+81Not only that, but PC already has hackers

Activision pulled the original youtube vid, claiming copyright violation. LOL I don't see them doing that for any of the other thousands of mw2 vids being posted. Interesting that they are using copyright law to hide bad PR around ***** IW.net. - daviz0, on 11/12/2009, -2/+71and that's why i decided to buy left 4 dead 2 instead.
I'm thinking with the extra bit of money I saved I might buy the battlefield 2 collection on steam aswell, although I have never played any of the BF games so I have no idea if they are good or not - spokenrope, on 11/12/2009, -2/+70What an incoherent article description.
- Inspectorkemp, on 11/12/2009, -5/+59Say goodbye to IW as we knew and loved it. If the PC edition of this game sells poorly then I can easily imagine that this will be the last PC game that the Activision IW team creates and publishes for us PC gamers.
R.I.P. Infinity Ward. I knew thee well. - Dunge, on 11/12/2009, -1/+48SKIDROW have PROPER,.. not Razor.
- ybotoby, on 11/12/2009, -0/+47You wont be disappointed. BF games are always a fun experience.
- lacour1234, on 11/12/2009, -14/+60Turn off Utorrent while you play?
- Robustica, on 11/11/2009, -3/+39Goooood. Goooooooooood.
- Slashered, on 11/12/2009, -2/+36As a PC FPS player, I never thought I'd have to buy the console version for the better experience.
- ErrorLoading, on 11/12/2009, -2/+33Yes, it's awesome for you because you host each game. It probably isn't bad for the people connecting to you either if your bandwidth is really that good. But most people don't have that, and no one has any way of doing anything about it other than leaving and joining, which might end up just joining them right back into the previous game.
- 2Six119, on 11/12/2009, -2/+31I think he was just trying to demonstrate a point, not necessarily complain about his shoddy purchase.
- joshg8, on 11/12/2009, -3/+32Valve FTW
- Heath05, on 11/12/2009, -2/+30PC gamers have become the abused and battered wives of the gaming corporations.
Unlike a real abusive marriage, however, there is no psychological trauma or the sort that prevents them from leaving; so the ones that continues to buy into this are either too ignorant for their own good or prefers the abuse.
I don't mind Valve being one of the few remaining heroes for PC gamers. - dsmx, on 11/12/2009, -0/+25That's what I did I bought l4d2 and the bf2 collection. BF2 is still a fantastic game.
- ban1d0, on 11/12/2009, -0/+24Battlefield Bad Company 2 looks great

- iVisionX01, on 11/12/2009, -1/+22It's also not balanced for lean.
- Spuy767, on 11/12/2009, -1/+22After I heard these games, I pirated the game to play thru the single player campaign. Maybe if they fix it I'll buy the ***** to play online.
- Smokeydabear, on 11/12/2009, -3/+23I'd still rather be at home playing in that ***** frame rate, versus being at ***** work right now. Sigh....
- xartion, on 11/12/2009, -1/+21The same is true with MW2......oh wait
- CaughtThinking, on 11/12/2009, -2/+22LOL. See you all back on CSS soon.
- renanrrinaldi, on 11/12/2009, -9/+28I hate this background ad!
- daviz0, on 11/12/2009, -0/+18I know right, damn them pc gamers for wanting a quality product.
But in all seriousness activision are just money grabbing greedy asshats.
evidence - see B.net & IW.net - IKORKYI, on 11/12/2009, -1/+18you're missing the concept of dedicated servers
- BoneStamp, on 11/12/2009, -0/+17I like the idea that they can get you into a game quickly by finding a host for you. But I'd rather take an extra minute to find my own host, and possibly even wait until a game ends and there is a host with a good ping between us rather than just connecting to the host with the best of the lousy pings.
- venom8599, on 11/12/2009, -1/+17All the game sessions on all platforms are peer to peer though, one player hosts. The major difference when you're comparing platforms is the back end for all the matchmaking and the servers that maintain friends lists, chat, keeping track of people's online status, etc...
For the Xbox 360, Microsoft handles all of that, and they're very experienced at it and have the necessary capabilities and equipment after running Xbox Live for so long. Things were mostly pretty stable.
For the PS3, the developer has to outsource a lot of stuff to a company that then interfaces with Sony's servers for the few remaining things. (Demonware in MW2's case.) Their servers got overloaded and went down, causing lots of trouble for PS3 users.
For the PC, Infinity Ward has opted to do all of this in-house with IWNet. It's likely they're going to have some 'teething' problems before they can get things ironed out. Not to mention I'm sure the game is going to be patched soon to fix some of these issues people are having, as some IW devs mentioned last week they were still working on "finishing" the game, which probably shipped out on discs and in boxes a couple weeks ago. - jp2535, on 11/12/2009, -0/+16Do you need to tie your shoe? It looks like the string is LOOSE.
- sentry21, on 11/12/2009, -1/+16We have come a long way, but to take 2 steps back and eliminate features people expect in a sequel is just plain wrong.
- NinjaBass, on 11/12/2009, -1/+16General Obvious,
For most people, this isn't a matter of PC elitism, it's the fact that IW decided to treat their PC customers like retarded 4 year olds. Did you read the interviews with IW about the PC version?
"Is the PC version a port of the console version?" "No, the PC gets things like mouse control and graphics options." Insulting.
That's like telling you "The 360 version gets controller support and the ability to plug into your living room TV", as if you didn't already know. I have a 360 and a nice PC, so I could easily just get it for 360. I'm boycotting it because I don't like the way they decided to treat a portion of their customers. - Chainheart2, on 11/12/2009, -1/+16If the host has a ***** ping, everyone else suffers. Notice how more than one person was complaining in the video
- ParticleMan420, on 11/12/2009, -0/+14my friend SKIDROW let me borrow his copy so i can try out singleplayer. its pretty cool. but i sure as hell wouldnt pay $60 for that singleplayer game.
besides this vid showing the joys of lag, i saw a vid of someone cheating with wallhacks on yourtube already.
i would link to that video, but activision already had it taken down for some reason. - albel65, on 11/12/2009, -1/+15You know what I like about MW2 for the PC?
That's right. - lcg9q3, on 11/12/2009, -0/+14"I just got knifed, I think" LOL. Talk about horrible lag. Thanks IW!
- strictnein, on 11/12/2009, -1/+15Play more.
- Soleanthia, on 11/12/2009, -0/+14BF2 is a great game. And if you get tired of it, there are plenty of good mods to try out.
- erikarthur, on 11/12/2009, -3/+16I would hate it if he loosed.
- cthellis, on 11/12/2009, -1/+14Activision doubled their PC revenue in 2008, just counting the first five months of COD4 sales. They could easily have invested some of the $80-100 million they likely pulled in from CoD4 PC to make sure they do "the same thing but better." They could have charged a $60 cover price as well, and no one would have cared. Gamers would have expected them to adopt a few anti-piracy measures as well, and certainly would have cared.
Instead, they gutted the whole goddam game. So... ***** them.
Your "threat" is meaningless if they've ALREADY decided to turn the PC version into an exact replica of the consoles, just with a higher resolution. That's not what PC gamers want.
So... what other way do you suggest taking them to task, but to say "***** it" to MW2 PC? - yikesidigg, on 11/12/2009, -3/+16I'm confused. XBOX 360 doesn't have this lag because Microsoft keeps game servers so the performance is solid; better than the PS3 performance as evidenced in the past few days. But I thought the XBOX 360 version selected a user as the host; is that just a logical host for the match details where the heavy lifting is still done on MS's back servers?
If that's true, then PC gamers truly got the shaft as the infrastructure diagram is missing any sort of dedicated centralized hardware. - Robustica, on 11/12/2009, -0/+13http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dex5BJAF73k
- Memnochxx, on 11/12/2009, -0/+12Xbox servers are involved only in setting up games, they do not touch the data while in game.
- daviz0, on 11/12/2009, -4/+16no we won't be huffing and puffing we will just play a better game, maybe modern warfare 1
- IronChef75, on 11/12/2009, -1/+13And if the developers gave us the features we expect, you wouldn't have to worry about your geographical location to easily play with your friends in your home town acceptably.
- Schmich, on 11/12/2009, -0/+12Here's actually a video from them who releases/d a hack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cMC37VkyTA
- strictnein, on 11/12/2009, -0/+11padding: 0 0 10px 0;
Take that! - sentry21, on 11/12/2009, -0/+11Yeah but graphics don't make the game, it's nothing without good gameplay.
