- jonathan4465, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I can already tell you what Mod of the Year will be for 2007: Black Mesa Source
I can't wait until that mod comes out! - nowhere3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Wooooooooo, GE:S got 3rd!
- kavuday, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Hidden over Dystopia...were these guys smoking crack?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Ive got a lot of respect for modders, those guys put so much work into their creations.
- kevptim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I expected a HL2 mod to win. One will next year for sure.
IMO Project Reality is better than POE2, it does get more long term players; when released POE2 was by far the most popular mod though.
Congrats to Project Reality for taking #2! - DogGunn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well done to PoE2! Although it did kind of shock me that they won.
- bobbilljoe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Project Reality (www.realitymod.com) should of won hands down imo.
- intenscia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22006 was by far the biggest year, and has exceeded all expectations. Be sure to watch the videos, there are some amazing mods in there and to think... that is only the tip of the iceburg!

Will leave PoE2 waaaay behind! :P - goosnargh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Someone say new Black Mesa trailer?

- m3mn0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2My all-time favorite mod is Excessive+ for Quake 3.. they should mention classics like that which are still popular!
- nowhere3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1PVKII was released January 1st. Mods had to be released before December 15th to qualify for Player's Choice awards and released before the end of the year to qualify for Editorial awards.
- LGod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What ever happened to Team Fortress?
- Sagan1337, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How could they possibly forget DotA? It's probably the most played mod out there, and the don't even have it on their site.
- Zodix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Congratulations on a successful year :)
- bmilleker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No love for true combat?
- JohnClabo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sweet!
- Elxx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2HL2 is insanely easy to mod, pretty much anyone can make something new. Not saying that's a bad thing. On the other hand, the BF2 modders have put in a whole bunch of effort, making their own modding tools and the like, and if you weren't such an ignorant tool you would see that all the content in POE2 is completely new. It feels like a different game. And the Battlefield developers are actually trying to KILL the BF2 modding community. It's rough, and the POE2 team has shown how dedicated they are.
Congrats to all the mod teams who got recognized. - The_Dude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It takes sooo long to make mods now, and there's so few that are huge...that's the reason I thought this was about case mods. (although the site is blocked by Websense).
- JoeX111, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The only thing better than Mod of the Year 2006 is going to be the Editors Choice follow-up!
- CUatTHEFINISH, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Congrats to all the winners, as well as a round of applause to all the developers for bringing these mods to us. Thanks for hosting it all ModDD.
- Marblefluss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Congratulations to everyone. Hopefully I can get to know all these mods better.
- daik97, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0good
- krenzo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Excuse me Elxx? To mod for HL2, you have to know C++ which is not insanely easy. Do the BF2 mods even have anyone coding anything new? As far as I can tell, they just replace models/textures and levels, and it's a shame such effort receives more worth than people programming new gameplay.
- popothebright, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Holy annoying video.
Holy cheezy music. - Elxx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1See...you don't see it in fancy screenshots, but PoE has a variety of new features that are coded - artillery spotting, new game modes, a stats system, things like that. It's true, the visuals are what matter - I was disgusted when I saw that some mods were nominated that hadn't even been released.
HL2 has the beautiful Valve Hammer editor which is kept up to date. BF2 has the BF2 Editor which has had zero updates since its "beta" release back in 2005. A lot of the features are either broken or just plain missing, so BF2 modders have to jump through hoops just to change the models and create levels. I would say that's a lot more difficult than having a nice, polished, supported editor. - SharkMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Pirates Vikings & Knights 2 should have atleast got an award for "most complete feeling mod beta release"
- mrdeathgod, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Congratulations! Here's your shiny new penis trophy!
- fatadamblog, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Finally its 25th January FFS!
