- Radionesiac, on 10/12/2007, -29/+129"Konami has never released a new MGS (meaning not a remake like they did for the GCN) for any other consoles"
So how do you explain my XBox copy of MGS2: Substance? - Svoma15, on 10/12/2007, -7/+72How is this a reliable source?
- aegis9975, on 10/12/2007, -6/+65>>Whoever believes this is an idiot.
True, why would this exclusive news go to "Noooz" which isn't even a gaming site, much less anybody reliable. Honestly they offer no proof or any legitimate information to back up their claims.
Also, this whole story reeks of this incident on digg:
http://digg.com/security/Story_about_ps3_recall_is_bs - WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -7/+66I love the wonderful site this is from and the wonderful sources it cites.
"I'll get official comment from Konami in the week, but it is Saturday and this came pretty much from the horse's mouth, so you can count on this being legit." - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+63Why would you be concerned anyway? Do you goto sleep at night, thinking "Ooo!!I hope MGS stays exclusive for the PS 3, so those pesky Xbox owners won't get to play!! Oooo!!!"
Now if you own Sony stock, it could make some sense... - aegis9975, on 10/12/2007, -4/+54Here is another "exclusive" from Noooz.com:
Time Crisis 4 to be PS3 launch title
http://www.noooz.com/archives/2006/01/time_crisis_4_to_be_ps3_launch.html - drjekelmrhyde, on 10/12/2007, -19/+61Dugg just to piss off PS3 fanboys
well atleast I told the truth - hibachipenguins, on 10/12/2007, -4/+42Sony does not own the rights to the Metal Gear series the producer just made the MGS series exclusive to the Playstation console. If you remember there was at least one metal gear on the NES and Gamecube and maybe a few more that were off of Sony consoles that I don't remember. The developer would make this choice based off what is in their best interest.
- Stonedonkey, on 10/12/2007, -6/+29I'll believe it when I see a press release.
- cell00, on 10/12/2007, -10/+29Sorry for the reply abuse but this is interesting information regarding Nooooz.com that you should know and not my personal opinion:
Nooooz were the first ones with Assassin's Creed not being PS3 exclusive. And they also had a newsarticle mentioning that the European release of the PS3 might be pushed back to March 2007, this was in JANUARY. So they do get some good stuff. - EvilCowSan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Well he might worry that everytime the ps3 loses an exclusive his beloved console becomes more worthless than it already is.
- blindr, on 10/12/2007, -11/+27people actually believe this stupid source?
- gk128, on 10/12/2007, -8/+23As much as I want this to happen I have to mark this as inaccurate until there is a better source.
- WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -8/+23I don't see PS3 fanboys panicking here, I see 360 fanboys and PS3 haters adding a +1 to their list.
- Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -10/+24Sorry man, but Substance wasn't the original MGS2. It came out after, and was a re-make with more content. not saying it wasn't great, it was, but I was correct in saying all the newest additions in the MGS series have been released for Sony consoles.

from the sound of things, Hideo Kojima has no intentions of bringing Metal Gear Solid 4 to the Xbox 360. Or any other Metal Gear Solid game, for that matter.
Kojima told Official Xbox Magazine that he feels the Metal Gear series is "made for for PlayStation platform." While his development studio, Kojima Productions, is working on Xbox 360 titles, these will be all-new games that are set outside of Metal Gear -- that's according to Computer and Video Games magazine. - shad0w, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17That isn't made up. The PS3 shortages were do mainly to the low manufacturing yields of the blue laser diodes used for the Blu-Ray drive.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13instead of complaining and *****... you guys should really dig as innacurate or ok this is lame. let's not waste time on this and just bury it.
- shad0w, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Well judging by how disappointing Double Agent was....
- peterberry, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11I don't believe this source though.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9What is this, 1991?
- Cruelapollo, on 10/12/2007, -21/+29@Radionesiac
You explained it to yourself right there, Metal Gear Solid 2: SUBSTANCE.
They added new content and features, it wasn't a completely new addition to the Metal Gear series. - knite, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Wow, what a great way to get web traffic. Make up some BS story and spam it on an anti-sony fanboy driven site.
- pedalwrench, on 10/12/2007, -9/+16You owe me a keyboard and monitor as I just spit mountain dew all over it. +digg very funny!
- UKeTommyV, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6This is BS unless i see it officialy, this is just a rumor , burry this please , instead of saying "RUMOR ALERT: Metal Gear Solid 4 - another LOST PS3 exclusive, coming to Xbox 360??!" it says "Metal Gear Solid 4 - another LOST PS3 exclusive, coming to Xbox 360!" burry this .rumor only . not to mention sony would not let it go , plus japan doesnt like the 360 that much , konami would probably not see any benefit in doing that.
- chriskzoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Well, a dev close to Nintendo told me Mario was coming to the PS3 - yup, it's true!
- smergs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I just wish they would release a bc update for the 360 so I could play MGS2: Substance on my 360.
- stev, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Could someone explain to me what makes MGS so great?
- zetsurin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Funny, every other news site is mentioning this as a rumor. However, this particular site (and by virtue of this slanted submission, Digg) is acting as if something official has actually happened.
So will be have 1000+ diggs on the inevitable article from the horses mouth saying the rumors were unfounded? - BlackKnight6, on 10/12/2007, -13/+18Well they let GTA and others slip...this wouldn't surprise me much with the amount of exclusives they have lost already. To me, they need to stop relying on their brand name loyalty and bring more to the party in terms of games.
- DesEagle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6This is complete *****.
How do ***** websites like this get front page on Digg? Do you people have no internet sense, or does your fanboyism just blind you?
Dugg wholly for inaccurateness. You should too. - ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Why would this be a surprise to people? The last two MGS games had versions released for the Xbox. Why wouldn't Konami release number 4 on the 360?"
Yeah, no...that's a lie.
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance came out for the Xbox. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snakeater was a PS2 game. Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence was a rerelease for the PS2 alone. Konami decided that the XBox wasn't worth the effort of releasing another MGS game for that system for one simple reason ... the controller.
In Metal Gear Solid 2 for the PS2, all of the aiming, leaning, and tiptoeing was done with the top four buttons. The Xbox controller has the same NUMBER of inputs as the PS2 controller, except instead of two extra shoulder buttons it has two extra thumb buttons. Fine, Konami said, we can adapt to that by using the left stick's ability as an input to switch to first-person view and using the black and white buttons.
Unfortunately, enter MGS3 with its shoulder-aiming and CQC. The Xbox controller was already using all of its buttons except one (the right-stick press). Shoulder aiming requires a button of its own, now, but CQC requires something the Xbox and Gamecube controllers lack -- analog thumb buttons. Depending on how you pressed the buttons on the PS2 controler, you could quick-draw, drop to your belly, jump to your feet, grab an enemy, hit him with a punch-kick combo or pimpslap him into submission.
The extra button (L3) used for First-Person shooting on Xbox is used for interrogation on the PS2...it would have to be switched to R3, except the R3 button is used for camera positioning on the PS2. In short, the Xbox ran out of buttons. Worse, you NEED analog buttons for MGS in CQC. You tap while you're holding an enemy and you choke-hold him, you push hard and you slit his throat, you push a different button and you hold him hostage. Another throws him.
The thing is, some will say this gets confusing. However, the interface for CQC was so intuitive and natural that it absolutely revolutionized the gaming experience.
So what does Microsoft do? They THROW AWAY THE BLACK AND WHITE BUTTONS.
You couldn't even play Metal Gear Solid 2 on the Xbox 360. There's no way Konami would release the sequel to Metal Gear on the Xbox 360 without some incredible programming ingenuity and deft control tap-dancing ... unless they throw out CQC and most of the First-Person Controls. - shad0w, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7yournamehere: Yeah, because the Dreamcast came out a year early and crushed the PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox.
- joshreed104, on 10/12/2007, -10/+14There's been a rumor on the MGS4 Gamspot/Gamefaqs board about this for a LONG time, so some random site claiming the same is not really a step forward.
BUT if MGS4 does happen to come out on the 360, there's not a chance in hell I'm buying a PS3. - Yokai, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6God, goes to show that if the digg name is good, it will get 800+ Diggs.
Dugg down for being inaccurate. Common, what makes this site a reliable source? huh? - spidermanspants, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Need a more reliable resource other than "I know a guy"
- NeoRicen, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7What a crock of *****, no name site with no source, just some ***** ass trying to generate hits for his site.
Marked inaccurate. - duketogo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Buried as inaccurate.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Yeah but the way they did the main game sucked. It was like they tried to run it in emulation or something. It was slow and clunky unlike the PS2 version.
- DlGG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This would be cool, but I highly doubt this is legit. If there ever is an official announcement I'll find this article again and digg it. :)
- Pebcak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4If FFXIII came to the Xbox, I would have no reason to ever buy a PS3.
- zetsurin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Exactly. They are saying it's fact before any other news site dares to so that they can get a) diggs and b) the 'right' to say 'you heard it here first'.
IQs sure have dropped since the last console war. Staggeringly so. - yaos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+31800+ diggers are confirmed to be morons.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I never heard of this site before, so it's fake.
- zetsurin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5"Do you people have no internet sense, or does your fanboyism just blind you?"
It's clearly the latter, and it's been getting out of control particularly of late. Look at the GameSpot article from a day ago for another shining example of blind fanboyism. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Just another rumor mill site looking to stir the ***** and drive traffic to a blog. I'll believe it when I see it, or there is an official announcement.
- coheedcollapse, on 10/12/2007, -8/+11Cool news if it's true (I own a PS3 and I'm all cool with Sony, but more games on more systems means more people get to play great games), but as many have said before this is possibly the most unreliable source ever. Random blog post - no link. People need to check for reliability for digging this crap.
- Import98, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Why is this being dugg.....buried for inaccurate.
- iannnnn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wish this was true so I didn't have to blow $600+ for a few good games.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2it'd make better business sense to release it for xbox360 because if they need to sell 500,000 copies to break even on a ps3 game its going to take waaaay to long to make profit from that game,
plus im refusing to buy a ps3 because i have a strong dislike of sony and im not paying that price for something that will break in 2 years and need a new laser unit (remember the ps1 and ps2 problems)
plus im getting a xbox360 when halo3 comes out because i love the halo games :) - UberGeekGamer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Actually Kojima Productions owns the rights to MGS and its not a part of Konami anymore.
So Kojima san has all the say where MGS4 goes or he goes to another publisher. -
