- drvcr, on 03/23/2009, -2/+43IT'S PAYNE!!
- adml_shake, on 03/23/2009, -0/+38Is he going to hunt down the people that green lit the movie?
- Sylphid15, on 03/23/2009, -1/+32Bullet time isn't the reason why Max Payne games are awesome.
- inactive, on 03/23/2009, -1/+30Yeah?
- liljay2k, on 03/23/2009, -1/+29He's sayin Winter 2009 (Jan, Feb) fall before Spring 2009. Winter 2009 starts in December (in the Northern Hemisphere), slayerab.
- slayerab, on 03/23/2009, -18/+45Winter 2009? Isn't it Spring 2009 right now?
- theg3neral, on 03/23/2009, -1/+27AWESOME Rockstar! Can't wait!
- LMN8R, on 03/23/2009, -5/+29I'm interested, but skeptical.
Their render of Max certainly doesn't instill confidence of a quality sequel that holds true to its predecessors. Rather, it almost seems as if Max has been made as boring and generic as could possibly be. Hell, he almost looks *BALD* in that picture... - hardtoconfuse, on 03/23/2009, -1/+24Max Payne out of New York? where the hell did he move to?
- Renian, on 03/23/2009, -2/+24Max Payne's journey into the night will continue...
- hardtoconfuse, on 03/23/2009, -1/+22Payne? Oh, no! Not him! *****! *****! *****!
- vashth3stampede, on 03/23/2009, -1/+21Did you even read the article?
"This is Max as we've never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever." - ClarkNoHeart, on 03/23/2009, -2/+20Hell yes! Hopefully, this will fix the image of the series after it was tarnished by the awful "film."
- RiskyToast, on 03/23/2009, -2/+16Is anyone not completely frightened by the fact that Remedy, the developers/creators of MP1/2, are having nothing to do with this game?
- darkchild82, on 03/23/2009, -1/+15I got to know Poets of the Fall thanks to their song "Late Goodbye" that was featured in Max Payne 2. Little did I know how much more awesome music they had. Love the band!
"Lift" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YB1QkirsCpA - inactive, on 03/23/2009, -3/+16***** YES.
Thank You Rockstar! You are videogame royalty - JCEEZ, on 03/23/2009, -1/+13For all the people who lack common sense... Holiday Season 2009.
- inactive, on 03/23/2009, -0/+12New Jersey.
- inactive, on 03/23/2009, -2/+11Why the ***** does he have a beard?
I hope like hell they don't ***** this up - BabyWookie, on 03/23/2009, -0/+9Hmm. I remember being very impressed with the graphics in MP2. The facial textures and animation were great (a huge step forward over the blocky heads in MP1) and it was one of the very first games to make use of the HAVOK physics API, making the environmental interactions a great technical feat in itself.
- hardtoconfuse, on 03/23/2009, -1/+10 I felt the rise of that old familiar feeling... I hated it... I welcomed it...
- splinter09, on 03/23/2009, -1/+9I knew there was going to be another one. I knew it.
- ZombieSociety, on 03/23/2009, -0/+8I agree. A beard? We all know it's impossible to grow a beard.
- hardtoconfuse, on 03/23/2009, -1/+8 I didn't deserve to walk away. There are no happy endings.
- anyone4apint, on 03/23/2009, -1/+8Monkey Island 2
- SaladCactusKing, on 03/23/2009, -2/+8So I guess dead Mona is the canon ending.
- Jack8274, on 03/23/2009, -2/+8By PC release they mean that 2 years after it's released it will come.
- Qazerr, on 03/23/2009, -1/+7I guess Remedy Entertainment is too busy with Alan Wake to make their own games. Hopefully Rockstar can pull it off >_>
- thaitan, on 03/24/2009, -0/+5They better not ***** do that. Max Payne started on the PC and for them to ***** on us PC gamers would be stupid.
- inactive, on 03/23/2009, -1/+6Fun Fact: Their song, Late Goodbye, is based off a poem written by Sam Lake, the guy who wrote the games script (Max Payne 1&2).
- Planets, on 03/23/2009, -0/+5Yeah, the credits said so. =P
- InfinitySnatch, on 03/23/2009, -2/+6Haven't they been working on Alan Wake for the last 5 years? When's that coming out?
- ortucis, on 03/24/2009, -0/+4Thaitan, go and play games like Bully and GTA 4 on PC. You can experience the way Rockstar manages to ***** up every possible release on PC since it ain't making them money like console kiddies.
Luckily the other Rockstar team is still releasing GTA 4 patches. But Bully.. my god, pathetic (no patch, doesn't run on x64 without limiting system ram.. oh and they aren't releasing any fix for it, ever). - konartis, on 03/23/2009, -1/+5YES!!! It's back! I loved one and two.
The atmosphere of the Max Payne world is one of a kind.
I'm so happy!!! - bluestatic, on 03/23/2009, -0/+4One can only hope.
- inactive, on 03/23/2009, -1/+5I won't play it unless Sam Lake as written the whole game from top to bottom.
- jgaspar, on 03/23/2009, -1/+5Say hi to your mother for me
- CTK14A, on 03/23/2009, -0/+4Market research promotes ethnically ambiguous protagonists. The shaved head look is not only clearly masculine, it makes the protagonist devoid of ethnic characteristics that the individual consumer might not identify with.
The iPod dancers are an example of this sort of ambiguousness. In other words, advertising is inherently racist, or at least assumes racism on the consumers' behalf. The same is true for electioneering. - bjs3171, on 03/23/2009, -2/+6are you kidding? the graphics were loads better than the first. The first one looks like it's made of building blocks, compared to the second.
- Traiklin, on 03/23/2009, -0/+4I think LMN8R is refering to is this http://www.gossipgamers.com/modern-video-game-char ... where you have tons of games where they are all bald.
- lostsymphonies1, on 03/23/2009, -1/+5Hopefully they stay true to the games roots and create a great game!
- cyrix, on 03/23/2009, -0/+3I think I'm going to have an aneurysm after reading that comment...
- bingo000, on 03/23/2009, -1/+4My God, what took you so long?
- Mr_Lyle, on 03/24/2009, -1/+4No, because Rockstar is known for making quality games. I'm willing to bet the game play itself will be excellent.
What does scare me is the fact that Sam Lake isn't writing the story. Rockstar aren't exactly known for their brilliant story telling. And let's be honest here, Max Payne was great just as much for the amazing story they told than it was for the excellent game play.
The story is also where the movie failed. If you replay either of the games, you can actually feel how tortured and twisted Max is. His state of mind is completely ***** up. The nightmare sequences are particularly disturbing. They never got that across in the film. I'm confident Rockstar will make a great game, I just hope they don't ***** up the story. - ZombieSociety, on 03/23/2009, -0/+3If it weren't for my horse...
- LMN8R, on 03/23/2009, -0/+2It's not that "bald is bad", but rather that "bald" represents yet another boring, generic stereotype of MASCULINE MAN DOING MASCULINE THING IN MASCULINE ENVIRONMENT.
Max Payne is a badass, of course, but not in the same way as a Marcux Fenix or somesuch.
The game's supposed to be a Film Noir style, always has been, and hopefully always will be. - cyrix, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2I'd wouldn't have spent that year in college.
- chaos7, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2i'm not impressed with Rockstar's PC development. expect the PC version to be very unoptimized with all kinds of additional programs (social club, xbox live programs) required to run to prevent piracy.
