- ahatter, on 10/12/2007, -3/+43those touch screen are tougher than you might think.
http://www.dslitereview.com/reviews/ds-lite-lcd-screen-stress-test/ - cheez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38funniest part is the japanese actors trying to play italian stereotypes
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28Everybody in Japan is either rail thin or a sumo wrestler, apparently.
- millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Kinda odd how Square Enix is the developer for this game.
- Lososaurus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15You don't have to tap the stylus repeatedly, the characters will dribble automatically, but I think it's for style.
Played it at E3, it's a lot of fun, but I didn't quite the shooting down in the demo. - kirakun, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17Yea, just like the real game with the basketball.
/sarcasm - GregoryHarbin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15That is genius. I can't wait to buy that...anyone know when it's coming out in America?
- Quintessence, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14The touch screen should be fine. If my DS can withstand my anger when the professor from Brain Age does not know how to distinguish a 2 from a 7, etc., then it will be fine for 3-on-3 Basketball. I suppose it could even be launched into outer-space! :-)
- peorth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Go Luigi! :D
- nymphetamine, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Wow, I wouldve never thought of that. So I'm guessin you'll just use the d-pad to move around while using the stylus at the same time.
- NTolerance, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8The difference is that Madden is made by EA.
- Kazenodeku, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I'd call it the key reason I want it. Black Mage FTW!

Strikes me as a game that SE developers made, but realized they couldn't really sell, since it's just a little thing. But with the Mario franchise, and their own cameo teams, I'd say it could be a winner. (As long as there's online play.) - Cerberus047, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Ok to everyone who says that,
Its not for dribbling... they dribble automaticly and on special question mark squares you can tap it to dribble really fast to block a player from stealing the ball from you and get extra coins to make your baskets worth more....
And is this game online???
Mario Basketball = HOLY *****!!!!! - spidoman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4AHHHH! That screen test scared the crap out of me. But dang, that thing is impressive. I would never have the guts to do that to a piece of technology.
- SlappyMc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Did anyone else see those Cactuars?
Good to see Square and Nintendo back on good terms - MoonKing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They'll have an option to switch the d-pad to ABXY like on other games.
Edit: Holy crap, how did I get to this story 3 days late? - NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Actually, what I'm more interested in is something that stress test didn't show - diminishing of the sensitivity of the touch screen. Anyone who has ever owned a Palm Pilot or a Handspring knows that the touchscreens on those devices eventually become useless.
- theone2Punch, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5because your title sucked
no one could guess what it was from the title - manatee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2man..i can't wait to get the ds lite! I predict the Wii will be a huge hit this winter
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Im thinking it going to work like this.
The top screen is 3D with the players on the court
The bottom touch screen is a map of the court
You control your characters movement with the plus pad and you pass and shoot the ball using the stylus - kazem, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5That was a really funny ad.
- glafira, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2That looks like a really cool game.
- walugi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1that looks like the bomb. Really good!
- phogasmic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hope that it comes out in the US, I want a DS Lite.
- bpapa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yep. Black Mage, Red Mage, White Mage, and Mog will be in this game as well.
- mactotoro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1yet another interesting/original title for the DS, nintendo are just churning out great games. Lets hope the Wii can follow this trend...love the Japanese Ad too...
- mxmxmx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1you actually wont need to do that, its just for show really, its in the options to be able to turn it off.
- swax, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2oh no come on :P its the same guy from this commercial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_Jc757Xg14&search=mario%20kart%20ds - senseigmg, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1What about us lefties?
- motang, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2@Quintessence LOL, you are right, and besides the DS Lite stress test proved that the screen can take some serious abuse.
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5I'm rather worried that it will be too gimicky. sure, using the touch screen to shoot will be cool for a while, but tapping the screen to dribble and sliding to shoot could get old really quickly
- bpapa, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yeah, just like how using the D-Pad/Analog stick to move guys around in a standard basketball game gets real old... uhhh... right?
DUDE LEMME GET SOMEA THAT HATERADE PLEASE THANK YOU. - albrad84, on 10/12/2007, -9/+6constantly bouncing the stylus up and down is gonna get real old....
- nhprm, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1it didn't suck
- generalleoff, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3Just pressing into it isn't much of a stress test. Most every LCD screen acts like that. Someone take the stylus and try and gouge the hell out of the screen. I really want to know if aggressive use of a stylus scratches the screen or not. For example in games that require you to draw on the screen or rapidly slide it across the screen like in this basketball game.
- MrC539, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2I'm not so sure it'll work well. I have Madden for DS, which uses the touch screen in a similar manner for kicking and passing, and it doesn't work well at all. Hopefully they make it work in this game.
- digitul, on 10/12/2007, -8/+0that looks completely lame. yay basketball for toddlers! just drag and drop to shoot and pass!
no thanks - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+3Looks retarded. I hope they allow you to use the standard d-pad and the A+B buttons of the DS.
- nhprm, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1http://digg.com/videos_gaming/Mario_Hits_the_Hoops Im not complaining, but I wonder why nobody liked mine ;)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -24/+7its too bad people are gonna destroy their touch screens tapping too hard while dribbling the ball
