- znutz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+29If only John Madden's commentary sounded as good as the game looks
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19"controls like that"
controls like what?
"no real advantage"
i would consider voice audibles and drawable hot routes advantages.
i do, however, agree about the analog stick. that was a good move on sony's part. - josegutz, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21Dude... I am soooo sick... I need to go into a dark corner somewhere and cry...
PSP goodbye.. - Rhine23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Wow that looks much better then I expected, I haven't bought a real football game in a while wonder if I should pick it up :O
- aaryn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14They need more sports games on the DS, looks pretty good
- stukdog, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15I would love a baseball game. I think baseball is the perfect sport for handheld players.
- MikeDubb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16It's amazing what hand-helds can do these days. Remember back when the Gameboy first came out in 1989? The tiny, dimly lit monochrome screen of the GB is so archaic compared to todays standards with 3D rendered graphics, touch screens and microphones.
I love technology!
Too bad I hate football.... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I would love it if MLB just took the license back from Take 2 and gave it to EA :(
- Dgen_X, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12it looks great because the framerate is perfectly smooth, too bad the video didn't show off the use of the microphone to call audibles, or drawing new routes with the stylus
I too haven't picked up a football game in awhile (Madden 2000 on the N64) but still may pass on this one...just because I'm not a huge football fan
but it looks fun! - Tobor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+102k's refusal to release MLB on DS really pisses me off. Nintendo needs to release a first party baseball game like Sony does on PSP. Swinging the bat or choosing pitch location with the stylus would rule my tiny world.
- a1lostnomad, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I believe it uses the touch screen for several game aspects... one of which is drawing new plays. Also, how can you argue with the sweetness of dual screens? I think it makes for a much more intuitive experience.
- 5thfreedom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9No wifi, however there is multi-card multiplayer.

- mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+72k sports really pisses me off... they released MLB 2K6 in April for all systems but gamecube.. released the gamecube version in june...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10unless it has wifi, it's worthless to me
single player sports games (racing excluded) suck - mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Nintendo owns the Seattle Mariners, so there has to be enough interest by Nintendo in baseball that it would be easily justifiable...
- rarun98, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I had to do a double take to make sure there werent any blue screens with replaced graphics. The game looks amazing.
- danc4498, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6That's probably one of the best looking portable football games I've ever seen.
- McNubbins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Very impressive. I generally don't know what to expect from DS sports titles. They can either use the DS functionality to bring new cool gameplay elements to the game or they can over/under use it to create a difficult to play or boring game.
EA looks like they got Madden '07 right. If I didn't preorder the 360 version I might have picked this up. :) - EvilNed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5The PSP and the DS have the same number of buttons. 4 face buttons and 2 shoulder buttons. And the analog stick on the PSP is pretty underwhelming. Still, the reviews for madden 2007 on the DS would have to be amazing to wash away the memory of how terrible 2005 was. I was thinking about getting it for the PSP, but then I remembered EA's problem with huge bugs on PSP football games, and decided I should wait awhile. Madden 2006 had horrible problems with crashing on franchise mode, and NCAA 2007 couldn't even figure out when a running back was tackled.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4can you challenge calls this time?
- Aloiv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Hmm... not bad.
Even though I'm not a fan of EA sports games, it's nice to know they're making some effort to make a good DS game, instead of making it an after thought - mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4that what I thought... Madden 2005 was a release title for the DS too i think... Madden 2007 is released today... the biggest "new features" are an updated running game with the ability to control the offensive lineman and an updated superstar mode where u get unique camera angles when u play as the superstar... from what i hear the Xbox 360 version still does not have all the features that the Xbox/PS2/Gamecube versions have...
- yonbeastie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Oh yes, I'm picking this one up.
- timbitca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Damn, this makes me want to get a DS even more...
- stukdog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I wouldn't care if it wasn't a MLB game. Just a good baseball game would be fun.
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Looks really great....much, much better than the craptacular version released for the DS last year.
I'm kinda weirded out about the NFL Blitz-like proportions of the players, but, hey it's the DS, what do you expect? The game looks really amazing for the DS, though - Petarded, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I used to own a PSP and had to get rid of it.
The analog stick was placed in an awkward position for me. I really couldn't play a game for more than 20min before it started feeling uncomfortable. - Amplix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i've never been a big sports games fan. but this.. this looks gorgeous
- Mikecol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Imagine what they could do with pitching! Draw the path to the plate with a stylus... wicked curveballs.
- Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They should make a baseball game for the DS, they could do wonders with the touch screen capabilities for batting, as well as catching
- daridave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks great! This is actually the first madden in the last 5 years that's got my attention. DS /Nintendo difference right there, I guess. Gonna have to try it!
- uacheesehead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you didn't miss out on much. mlb 2k6 was a steaming pile of...
how i miss mvp baseball. college ball with aluminum bats just doesn't have the same effect on me. damn this exclusive licensing. - DanteDefiance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dude that actually looks pretty slick. I'm going to have to pick it up!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"Nintendo needs to release a first party baseball game like Sony does on PSP."
Agreed. I honestly wouldn't even want 2K6 on the DS; all the other versions are complete crap. - mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Hasn't Madden had previous releases available to the DS? could of sworn I have seen them.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Wow, your expectations of what DS games should look like must be pretty damn low...
- waytoorandomx, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Wow, being a PSP fanboy and all, I'm impressed.
- Phr3aker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1the games out! to bad madden sucks
- nugge7, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2^^ No Wi-Fi? This game is useless.
- ReyBrujo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0What a very boring sport :-P And EA isn't the company to use the touch screen in a useful way... wouldn't it be nice to be able to trace paths for the players, truly creating your own tactics for the match?
- whiskeymb, on 10/12/2007, -8/+6Now if only EA could bring some innovation like this to the other versions of Madden! Gone are the days where I could just run over the 2k? for my NFL goodness (since the NFL 2K? series was vastly superior in my opinion). You know, since Madden hasn't changed in any good way since about 2000.
- palmerized, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Wow... this might make me have to buy a DS...
- Applied, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Good question... WiFi enabled?
- Shinta, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4ALLELUJAH
- lurchy, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0I picked up madden 2005 at circuit city for $3.00 a few months ago for the DS.
Is M2007 being released today (8/22)? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -15/+4With controls like that and no real advantage to having a touch screen, this game will be much better on PSP - higher resolution, more buttons + analog stick and a more powerful console.
- rarun98, on 10/12/2007, -17/+1I had to do a double take to make sure there were'nt any blue screens with replaced graphics. The game looks amazing.
- mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -27/+2 s
