- PS3Camaro, on 05/13/2008, -1/+4The 360 has been winning the "console" wars (btwn 360 and PS3) and main reason for this, well one of them.. is 360 has a great selection of great games, the PS3 has yet to get it's "major PS3 only" title, like 360's Halo/GOW series' etc. Finally PS3 has it's "only title" game and it has to compete with the big 360 games, and somehow has to make people think, I HAVE to get a PS3 now, so.. how about getting a 10/10.. -shrugs- just my thoughts, messed up I admit (I'm so tired, ha ha)

- xjonnyx134, on 05/13/2008, -1/+3Ahhh good another big name game gets an incredibly good review. MGS4 will no doubt be an amazing game, but when are these reviewers going to raise the bar? Seems like these ratings which should be nearly unattainable are becoming a common place. All this review tells me is the game looks good, its probably going to be really fun and MGS4 is obviously very hyped, though rightfully so. At a certain point it has become obvious the hype is affecting the score.

The 0.1 being anything they could find wrong with the game that isn't significant enough to worry about as a consumer but has to be noted for the purposes of full disclosure. Giving the game a 100% score means there is _NOTHING_ wrong with the game. That obviously isn't true. So... why bother?

A publication that got an exclusive review gave it a 10/10? *SHOCKING* I remember Red Steel for a Wii getting a 9/10 from a magazine who got the exclusive - & we all know how that game turned out. I'm not hating on MGS4, its the game that I'm waiting for to pick up a PS3 but I rather for wait for the reviews from Gamespot & 1UP.

Seriously, though, nothing is ever perfect. If you required perfection no game would ever get the top score and that score might as well not exist. Ideally I think you'd see a bell curve, with maybe the top 2-3% of games getting a 10/10. - Relikh, on 05/13/2008, -0/+0I don't know man, I think Gamespot lost all credibility when it gave Tony Hawk 3 a 10/10
- chedabob, on 05/13/2008, -1/+1There's a simple solution: Use a better scale. Although even then, it's quite possible to get 100% (GTA IV and Halo 3 both got lots of 100% reviews, but they both weren't perfect).
