For a skin?

:D - m4v1s, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10XBMC does not require a modded xbox, it is called "softmodding."
how to here...

also, would someone post some screenshots of the new MC360 skin? - Phlag, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9It is indeed very impressive - I had no idea that XBMC was so modifiable. But personally, I found it to be overly cluttered and complicated for what I want to do with XBMC. I realize that the authors were simply imitating the 360 GUI, but I'm sticking with the Project Mayhem skin, which I find to be more elegant and appealing.
- Namco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8XBMC will change your life and comtemplate buying another modded XBox just for the bigscreen in the living room as well as the bedroom. Makes for a perfect (and cheap) Video-On-Demand box for the living room.
- kwazyJAS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5softmodding is still modding.

- etruscan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Been waiting for this one for a while. It sounds like Microsoft isn't too worried about it either. XBMC is a fantastic app and I was admittedly a little jealous when I saw the UI for the 360. Can't wait to get it installed.
- jer.williams, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I had great luck with 720p and this skin, using the latest T3CH version of XBMC. Everything appears crisp and in the right spot. I'm blown away by the quality, and if I were Microsoft I'd be none too pleased. They were just ripped off and outdone. I hadn't updated XBMC in about a year, and I'm glad I got this on there before I forget how to install homebrew entirely.
- Jaymoon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Well it works fine for me, and I haven't updated XBMC in over a month...

- edrift101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Awesome skin! If you haven't downloaded it yet - do so now.
- Jaymoon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Care to give a link? or even a mirror, cause the server is being killed right now...
- KissTheRing, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5got it, thanks Jaymoon
- lazyguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3when even the homebrew kids are emulating your UI, you know you did something right
- ckohler, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Blackbolt has been allowing us to promote the beta of this skin in our podcast and I must say, it's damn impressive. Click the link below if you want to see a more in-depth review of an earlier version. It adds several cool features the regular XBMC doen't have like xbox-saves.com integration and setting custom wallpaper without having to edit config files.

Also, before anyone starts in with the whole "Microsoft will sue" posts, Blackbolt was already contacted by Microsoft lawyers a few months ago. Their only beef was that in earlier versions like the one in the above podcast, he was using the official Xbox 360 sphere logo and wanted it removed. - Namco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3You beat me to it zepp.
- jakethecake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It's Blackbolt's 360 Skin and the newest XBMC build. Thank you.
- bobothn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the usual place is so slow because it is in the uk now. i dont know why they dont move it to the regular place. with every thing else.
- FluffyArmada, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is it just me, or did he manage to misspell "skin"?
- bobothn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the reson there are 404 is piratesbay has halve there regular servers (usualy have 16 now has 8) and more then there regular visitors i mean llok at all the free advertising they got.
- vtequine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Just downloaded and installed it myself. WOW! I am very impressed with this. I did get some issues with how it fit on my screen but XBMC has the resizing 'application' built-in which fixed that! Great work that any XBMC user should check out!
- conro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2i had the same problem.. you are probably running a version of XBMC thats to old for the skin... try upgrading xbmc from one of the links posted above... i installed the latest build on my xbox and now the skin works great.
- TristanTee, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I just got it and tested it out and I'm very impressed, its tight!
- scottauth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I did not realize that it was so *hush hush*
Just used the usual round of torrent websites. - fatcat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2it just put it on and it looks awesome, XBMC is truly an amasing app, i just installed it yesterday
- rowlodge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2wish it didnt need a modded xbox to work.
- Terc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Why are people asking for screenshots!?
You could just follow the link... or just watch the trailer.... - culbeda, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That's my fear. I tried a beta and I had the same impression then.
Anyone else want to weigh in on the usability of XBMC360 vs the Project Mayhem skins? Especially for standard def TV's. - rothgar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2welcome to the wonderful world of xbox modding. or at least XBMC
- vtequine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I just went into the channel no more then an hour ago and it worked fine.
- russizm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Well in order for the skin to work you have to upgrade your version of XBMC.
So yes, for a skin. - bentheo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1anyone else try grabbing the latest build off xbins? since when has the channel been invite only? I used it last week and I had no problems
- HarshReality, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The graphics and animations are rather impressive but... and I say this holding in mind its a beta. Its functionality is lacking. The impression everyone was given is that this was cutting edge and currrent making use of alot of XBMC's "not so well known features as well as adding new ones.
While there are some new features in terms of animation and the like they have left out at least 50% of the already known settings that most users are accustomed to and completely rearranged the ones they do have. In the process of adding features (extras and the like) they completely isolated them from anything pre-existing (for example blade backgrounds one would think it would be somewhere in the area of appearence but instead its a seperate blade alltogether).
As I said, holding in mind this was in fact a beta for the duration of time these gents have worked on this and hyped it up it is an utter disappointment. I think I'll stick with PM3 for another 6 months so they can figure out how to organize things. - Namco, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Anybody got a pic? Sorry I don't have my Xbox with me here at work :)
Thanks in advance. - Namco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Oh awesome. The linked page didn't have any pics (typical anti-Digg tactic), and there was no indication that we weren't on the main page for the skin. Thanks for the link.
- CosyCat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1skin not support 720p yet. (it loads but dont look that good) then I stay with PM3 for now.
- stratmancj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1considering the date ... no
- McPostal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I tried to install it but XBMC says "Incompatible skin, We require skins of version 2.00 or higher. I would probably get confused anyway not being sure if it's my XBMC or Xbox360 on the screen.
- Derrekito, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Very slick, Just hope to have better color themes in the future, VERY stable :) .
- thesauce, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2It amazes me. People will mod him down for asking where a homebrew app that happens to be illegal is, yet you have assloads of people going crazy over The Pirate Bay and their success.
woot - Yonson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Is anyone else having trouble connecting to the XBMC Xbins server? It keeps connecting then timing out.
- culbeda, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0The point isn't the official release... odds are that's fine. The point is the likelihood that this release in particular might end up being hijacked and thrown up on the P2P's, usenet, etc. in a modified form.
- j0se, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0TellarHK, get off the computer and step into the real world to understand the meaning.
- scottauth, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Where can I obtain the latest T3CH version of XBMC?
- generalleoff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I think you might like this skin as well if you want something that's simple, elegant, and appealing.

As far as the new 360 skin goes I don't have much time to play with it and work the bugs out with my custom build of XBMC but it looks nice. I like that they added a game save manager but I'm not happy they did not include a weather tab so far. - Thezeppelin62, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1screenshots?
- Sibertank, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1404, I was wondering what that article about TPB was about with the 404s on the front page lol.
