- banana989, on 10/12/2007, -1/+44The digg link is not work safe ... there are ads that contain sexual content. Try http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2139555376132383479&q=mario+live&pl=true like uthguy9 says.
- RancidLM, on 10/12/2007, -6/+48wow.. the Pause part was an amazing idea.
- ezkiel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+42if they were true ninjas you would have never seen them :)
- jokerr, on 10/12/2007, -8/+47@otte316
WOW. How in God's holy name did you come to this conclusion?! Seriously, just because it was a talent show at a Christian school doesn't mean that it's a POS. Loved it or hated it I don't care, its your opinion. But where did the Christian/Bush/church bashing come from? Sounds like you have some personal issues that you need to look into.... - mitsuogs, on 10/12/2007, -4/+33No fireworks at the end!?! Must have not finished on a 1,3 or 6.
- e3mw, on 10/12/2007, -10/+36That made my day. Holy crap that was awesome. What a nice birthday present from Digg to me! :)
That stinks that the Star powerup didn't go right on cue, but it was still hilarious.
Digg this like crazy! - mark1372, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26Attention people with video cameras: a tripod is cheap and is the best investment you'll ever make in your video, and video shot on tripods compresses better. Your viewers will thank you.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+32Love the ninjas in the background carrying the goombas and question mark boxes.
- djstoop, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21It was great. to all the haters, it wasn't supposed to be a broadway piece. Merely a amateur talent show. The usual goal of such things is that the audience have fun, not to receive rave reviews over the internet. I think it accomplished its goal.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18raise the flag? have you ever played mario?
- kansan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Why wasn't the SMB movie this entertaining?
- uthguy9, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17I cannot get this...it is blocked at my school so here is another link
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2139555376132383479&q=mario+live&pl=true - GhostFaceMilla, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18Digg reader for a long time. That was so awesome, I registered JUST so I could make it my first official Digg. OUTSTANDING!
- cadavreexquis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18It's great but shouldn't the actor be a bit squattier? Perhaps they could have hired a moustachioed midget?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14The fire marshall might have had something to say about that.
- imightbewrong, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15why are you on digg.com?? Go Home!
- MemoryDump, on 10/12/2007, -13/+23awsome! simply awsome! this is probably one of the coolest things I've EVER seen!
man I miss the old NES days when everything was simple and games were fun and not sooo complicated :P - AvatarKava, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12This is the music one referred to before - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldFCBpTwEGI&search=acapella - artistically I think it's a better job, this one didn't look very well rehearsed.
- millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13This isnt the first live Mario re-enactment to appear on Digg. This isn't even one of the better ones. Doesn't anyone remember the "bucket o' fireballs" ???
- victorycig, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9because it is tech related, and it's a collective consciousness matter. it's something a large part of the community can identify with.
*ah, childhood* - gdfoto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8There is also the Super Mario Opera. Done by students from CalArts. There is actually going to be a performance this Friday. Check out the website for more details. http://www.the-mario-opera.com/
-GD - leptonbill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"mustachioed" is by far the one of the funniest words I have ever read.
- sirgad, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Pretty cool. The pause and the fireball part was well-done. The ninjas were an especially nice touch.
- Sparticuz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8We don't want to know your sexual orientation
- Polaris75, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I think he means submitted. In addition you are in no position to criticize how anyone says ANYTHING with a post like that ...
have u been paying attention in english class at all... its "you" dude. - mikeh00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Thats where I went to college!! I'm so proud of them!
- bouche, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6if there's a youtube link, I'd appreciate it. for some reason my work's network is blocking that page :(
- Author, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I think the sound problems enhanced the "show" in making it funnier.
- lateralis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6http://www.transbuddha.com/mediaHolder.php?id=1304
punch out reenactment - trylleklovn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I simply LOVE the pause bit, made me laugh out loud :D
It seems there was a bug with the sound at the star though, or was that a joke i didn't get? - skragglerock, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5As a former Gordon Grad, let me explain some background on this video. Annually the college has a talent show, and four students from each class are selected to represent their respective class (fr,so,jr,sr). Each student has about two weeks to put something together that they hope will entertain their peers. Money for props and material is coming out of their own pocket and stage hand help is how ever many of your friends you can scrounge up. So for all the haters knocking the performance for being weak, they only had two weeks to get it together. And for all the haters regarding religion, please do a better job of correlating a skit with religious beliefs. This is just a bunch of kids having fun. Great job guys.
- apersaud, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Was the soundtrack a recording of was it a person playing the sound effects in real time? (I think it was realtime and thats why he screwed up).
Otherwise, it was great! - jgeorgeson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5the audience is lucky nobody dropped a spoon.
- nene7070, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4yes, but involves breaking the TOS. :)
- oddball, on 10/12/2007, -10/+14@xopl -- Catholics believe that sex should only occur between Priest and Child......
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is a dupe....
This was poseted 2 days ago
http://digg.com/movies/Amazing_Live_Performance_of_a_Super_Mario_Bros._Level - UltraNurd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4My cousin goes there! I'll have to ask if she saw it live. More importantly, I wish I had known about it beforehand, because I definitely would have gone...
The nerds in the crowd sure love it. - synaesthesia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That was great; it wasn't the most well-executed but the ideas were extremely clever and even the screw-ups were charming in their badness.
- digx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Great job. A huge congratulations to all the guys who put this together and everyone involved.
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Bit slow on the sound effects, but hey, it was a great job! Awesome stuff.
- Furi0usBee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3All the people on here pissed about this video are just mad they didn't think it up in their garage with a few of their fag friends. That is what free expression is all about. It can be as simple as re-enacting a classic video game, but still be very powerful. Just listen to the audience, they knew how great it was.
The people who bought this game when it first came out get it! - posure, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4That was badass. +digg
- green67, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@ TenMinuteParty,THANK YOU for posting this!!!!..It was a great way to start the day!!!...A good laugh!...and my 2 year old started impersonating "Mario" as soon as he saw it!!...dugg!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4In all honesty, there had to be at least one chick in the crowd who diggs maro. I would be willing to bet that this got him a date or two.
- victorycig, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5"mustachioed midget"
rock the spell check ¦Þ - criticman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Yeah, the audience was going crazy for it...and it made me chuckle too.
- idealizm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3you do realize that "p's and q's" means "please's and thank you's", right? Knowing this, your comment makes no sense...
- mrbillwatts, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4There were question mark boxes you could get multiple coins out of. I think 11 was the limit if you were fast. Sorry to be a Nintendo nerd.
