***** THING SUCKS - Tetelestia, on 10/17/2008, -7/+452Why bother/gamer irony: once finally released there will be a flood of user created Qur'an levels.
- haelios, on 10/17/2008, -27/+447I long for the day that superstition dies.
- clip9, on 10/17/2008, -24/+405Muslims really need to get a grip.
- truspector, on 10/17/2008, -11/+337***** *****! Why does everyone feel they have the right to be offended? I'm so sick of this PC *****. If you don't like how something looks, turn away! If you don't like how something sounds, cover your ears. I could understand the out in public argument, however, NOBODY is being forced to buy or tolerate this game. ***** bitches.
- truspector, on 10/17/2008, -8/+235This really isn't about Sony or MS. This is about a group of intolerant ***** (I'm not talking about Muslims in general so keep your offense to yourself) who need to learn that the rest of the world is sick of giving up freedoms because they're too ***** childish to ignore things that they don't agree with. Bunch of ***** pussies.
- mstachiw, on 10/17/2008, -13/+202Little Big Deal
- pauleku, on 10/17/2008, -78/+266OMG I say we burn the Quarn in protest. AGHHHH.
- DanteDefiance, on 10/17/2008, -19/+198Once again religion proves to be the bane of humanities existence.
- Ajjah, on 10/17/2008, -32/+179***** Religion.
- Slippy, on 10/17/2008, -109/+243Dear Sony,
HA!
Love,
Microsoft - Evolutuon, on 10/17/2008, -11/+141I'm tired of this islamic appeasement. Who gives a ***** if they get offended.
- rhogben, on 10/17/2008, -13/+124Because in game penis levels and 9/11 simulators are not offensive. Thanks SOE.

- jrm125, on 10/17/2008, -3/+98While I'm never a fan of people being offended, this comes as a pretty ridiculous turn of events.
The song in question has been out for 2 years. The song is by a Muslim artist. The game in no way is insulting to Muslims (in fact the song itself was used to promote multiculturalism for the game).
It's this kind of radical bs that gets on everyone's nerves and causes more harm than good to the Muslim community.
Disclosure: I'm one of the people who pre-ordered this game and I was really looking forward to playing it this week. It's a shame this kind of crap has to rain on the parade. Hopefully the changes will please everyone. - meruru, on 10/17/2008, -9/+104I know the first thing I'm going to do is make a Mohamed sackboy
- indubitably, on 10/17/2008, -1/+82@haelios - you know it's bad luck to say that right?
- Maurina, on 10/17/2008, -11/+88I'm going to make a Muhammad Sackboy!
- downneck, on 10/17/2008, -7/+77what ***** pussies.
- papadopus, on 10/17/2008, -25/+95Man, muslim's intolerance is going to end this world one day.
- JonesJohnson, on 10/17/2008, -7/+74Yup, far more offensive than the soon-to-be ubiquitous penis stages that everyone will make.
Note: I don't plan on making a penis stage. But I'll gladly play one! =D
... - inactive, on 10/17/2008, -5/+65You know who needs to get a grip? The morons speaking for other groups when they say they're taking action to remedy an alleged offense. To my knowledge, the Muslim community hasn't said a damn word on the situation, but you have these people who trip over themselves to prevent offending Muslims.
Hell, even if you're worried about the "terrists," I don't get it - those guys already want us all dead, what are they gonna do - kill you more? - cptshamrock, on 10/17/2008, -1/+61Anyone think that any other religion could get away with this? People seem to be way more afraid and appeasing of this religion than any other.
- pauleku, on 10/17/2008, -12/+72Yea, musilms are totally understanding of all other religions and beliefs .....*cough*
- robertj15, on 10/17/2008, -28/+87Here come the rally's in UK that will promote the killing of whomever is responsible. But remember, Islam -- and all religions, for that matter -- promotes peace!
- Starflyer59, on 10/17/2008, -1/+59"We will begin shipping LittleBigPlanet to retail in North America the week of October 27th."
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/10/17/littlebi ... - zyklon, on 10/17/2008, -1/+58You're the very definition of irony.
Dumbass. - TheFamousOne2, on 10/17/2008, -3/+59So let me get this straight...
If someone mentions the Christian bible, it's alright.
If someone mentions the Hebrew bible, it's alrght.
If someone mentions the Qur'an, it's wrong?
Why is it alright for EVERY other religion out there to be refrenced, but we give special rights to the Islamic religion? Thats *****. - zyklon, on 10/17/2008, -1/+54He threw salt over his shoulder, he should be fine.
- DreKor, on 10/17/2008, -5/+55This isn't the first time a game's gotten overhauled. In the original releases of Zelda Ocarina of Time, pushable blocks had a moon and 4 pointed star, this was changed to a squiggly design after complaints from Islamic groups. Also, the fire temple originally used, seemingly, indistinct chanting as background music. This was also changed after complaints that after complaints that it was a remixed version of a Muslim holy song.
- s0crates82, on 10/17/2008, -0/+48Weird, the theme music for Civilization IV is a sung translation of the "Lord's Prayer"... and that was pretty well received.
I wonder why some religions are so strung out about their holy texts; things that they should be proud of and want disseminated for all to see. - kingmanic, on 10/17/2008, -5/+48Little things like this really fuel people misunderstanding and diminishes people view of Islam. For the love of what ever deity you'd like to worship, stop this censorship / madness. It's all arbitrary rules added long after the founders of the religion died. Similar to the Taboo against depicting Mohamed or the catholic ban against priests marrying .
I'm not an intolerant guy, the whole ***** cliche of having a lot of Muslim friends is true for me. But seriously, how does this help Islam?
If you want some understanding and tolerance, give some in kind. - Saitekc, on 10/17/2008, -32/+75***** islam, stupid ***** think every god damn reference to their holy ***** is an insult to the prophet Muhammad which must result in destruction of the "infidel"
***** religion - someant1180, on 10/17/2008, -20/+60I am so sick of religion at this point that it is hard not to be. I understand that you cant demonize a whole group of people because of a few excessive idiots, but the rest of the idiots in these religious groups serve as a incubators for the madness. It is becoming harder and harder to bottle my dislike of this *****.
- chaoswings, on 10/17/2008, -4/+43I long for the day when people don't take issue with every little thing. I really don't care that there is a verse of the Qur'an in the game.
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -1/+39Pauleku only had 1 misspelled word, you have 4, and they are common words, unlike Qur'an.
Oh, and "!..."? That's even worse than misspelling all those words.
Congratulation on being an idiot. - supermanly, on 10/17/2008, -5/+43I agree. As a Hindu, I thought it was pretty cool when in the Matrix credits (I think it was Revolutions) they had a Hindu prayer.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asato_ma_sad_gamaya#L ... - theodenking, on 10/17/2008, -6/+43What? How is this offensive? Are Muslims seen as being so sensitive now that we're just supposed to pretend they don't exist?
- coheedcollapse, on 10/17/2008, -5/+41The reason they found it offensive (according to the post that started this whole thing), is that quotes from the Qur'an aren't supposed to appear in song for some reason. The thing that really gets me is that this group must SCOUR upcoming games for stuff like this. In the original post, he also mentions that they successfully requested things be removed from Wii's Zack and Wiki (what exactly...?) as well as something in Call of Duty 4.
No matter the reason, I think it's ridiculous that Sony caved in so fully and wholeheartedly to this request. There are plenty of things in just about any game coming out in these days that are offensive to all types of people. Usually, a company has the sense to be able to filter out what it seriously and unwarrantably offensive and ignore the idiots who get offended by stupid stuff (i.e. Jack Thompson).
It's a shame really. The song in question was pretty good. (Tapha Niang on his Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/toumanidiabate) - barktwiggs, on 10/17/2008, -4/+36Maybe I don't understand the Muslim mindset, but if lets say the Mormon Tabernacle Choir were featured in LBP for some odd reason, I don't think Mormons would be going all Jihad on Sony.
- lilhelper, on 10/17/2008, -3/+35Guess what? over 75% of the world doesn't give a ***** what 25% of the world thinks.
- Kbriggs, on 10/17/2008, -6/+37I say we all msg PSN ID: Solid08 and ask why he sent an email getting this game delayed. Solid08 is the username of the infidel so anyone who is angered or offended by this delay should bomb his account with messages.
- empraptor, on 10/17/2008, -2/+33you just don't notice those because the other religions don't raise as much hell over trivial stuff like this.
- KMartSheriff, on 10/17/2008, -2/+33Seriously. I wish the developer would tell them to eat a dick.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/17/2008, -1/+31The ironic thing is that the song in question is from a grammy award winning muslim artist. And not only that, but the song was released a couple years ago and is easily available through Amazon and other music retailers worldwide.
- PatoLucas, on 10/17/2008, -5/+35It's fun because they get offended and go ***** about it
For example it's just not funny to make fun of jews: they have too much common sense and they don't even make a small tantrum, why bother with them? - SurrealDream, on 10/17/2008, -6/+36While I don't necessarily agree with your level of rancor, I do agree with your sentiment. People have the reserved right to ignore the things they don't approve of. I do it all the time when people call me an opinionated *****.
Besides, this wasn't even a targeted attack upon the Koran, or anything in that vein. It was just a quote, placed into the background of a pretty insignificant portion of the game as a whole. People quote from other religious texts all the time. Christ, people use words and phrases from the Bible all the time (I've just used one, and I'm about to use another). Hell, T.S. Eliot quoted passages from Hindu texts referencing death and destruction in "The Waste Land", opening up interest of Hindu mythology to people who may not previously have had reason to read them.
And do you know what pisses me off the most? The fact that I'm REALLY ***** looking forward to this game, and now I have to wait an extra week because some senior executives are afraid of a backlash over NOTHING.
/diatribe - Spymodhf, on 10/18/2008, -1/+30Digg full of intellectuals? hahahahhahahaha
- jehan60188, on 10/17/2008, -1/+28if you play the game backwards, it says "Paul is dead, miss him, miss him"
