- xerus, on 10/12/2007, -5/+157Up until now I've just been thinking "Sony isnt so bad... I'll just get a ps3 when they become a little cheaper."
So much for that. - NikoKun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+119Sony' proves yet again, that they are one of the worlds WORST companies... -_-
- latova, on 10/12/2007, -3/+112I'm starting to think Microsoft is the lesser of two evils.
- Bindibadgi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+79I hope the PS3 ruins you, Sony. Worst. Company. Ever.
- VipeNess, on 10/12/2007, -3/+76looks like Sony played the " thousand paper cut " game with them bleeding all their money and resources to fight them legally, but just ran out of money because Sony had more of it. Another stupid move on Sony that makes me wish their PS3 fail even more now.
- Afroman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+66I mean does Sony not like money?! Lik-Sang still had to buy PSP's from Sony to sell them, I hate being a Sony hater, but this makes it harder and harder to like them.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+69Does anybody think we should start a fund to help them out?
- Quikster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+55just one more reason to not get a PS3 or anything else sony makes
- NikoKun, on 10/12/2007, -5/+58I know this is reply abuse... XD... but...
We all seriously need to start, and maintain, a Sony Boycott...
Its the only way to show a company that they are making bad decisions... - Klarth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+49This is so ***** out of order that it boggles the mind.
Seriously, what could make them do this? They took legal action because the consoles "did not meet safety standards" - Despite the fact that they DID. What's the motive, Sony? - Brian48216, on 10/12/2007, -2/+51Once I heard this latest brand of douchebaggery, sony dropped another few notches on my list. And it originally had been on the way up...
I feel bad for Sony Engineers. They're smart people. They make great stuff. It's just every other bigwig at sony who needs to go. - NikoKun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+45Even Sony CEOs bought stuff at Lik-Sang... -_-
Anyone else think a SERIOUS Boycott is in order? Because I certainly do...
Mass Sony Boycott FTW! I'll never buy there products again... -_- This was the very last straw... - NikoKun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+44"Furthermore, Sony have failed to disclose to the London High Court that not only the world wide gaming community in more than 100 countries relied on Lik-Sang for their gaming needs, but also Sony Europe's very own top directors repeatedly got their Sony PSP hard or software imports in nicely packed Lik-Sang parcels with free Lik-Sang Mugs or Lik-Sang Badge Holders, starting just two days after Japan's official release, as early as 14th of December 2004 (more than nine months earlier than the legal action). The list of PSP related Sony Europe orders reads like the who's who of the videogames industry, and includes Ray Maguire (Managing Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Ltd), Alan Duncan (UK Marketing Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Ltd), Chris Sorrell (Creative Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Ltd), Rob Parkin (Development Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited), just to name a few."
^proof... thats sad...
Boycott Boycott BOYCOTT! Don't give such a horrible company your money any longer! - unre4l, on 10/12/2007, -2/+42It's like they're trying to compete with EA for the most consumer-***** :(
- noodlez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+41the real issue is that there was a company making more money on sony products than sony themselves.
- ff6600, on 10/12/2007, -0/+35From Kotaku: "Fighting multiple lawsuits in different countries at the same time and paying high premiums to expensive lawyers is an overwhelming situation for a small company like Lik-Sang. Launching separate court actions with separate claims and different judges is completely unnecessary, except for the fact that it helps reaching one single target: outspend Lik-Sang to death. 'Pay Beyond.'"
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -5/+40Yeah but you see Europe gets RIPPED OFF for everything. When Sony sells them itself, that extra money is going to them. When Lik Sang sell them, Sony don't get the extra money.
If Europe weren't the ***** ass of the world in the eyes of the corporations (we're the 2nd largest market in the world FFS), then Lik Sang wouldn't have a need to exist in the first place.
Screw Sony. And every other company that rips off Europe. - fall7612, on 10/12/2007, -0/+34This sucks. That store was a great resource for imports.
- bpwwhirl, on 10/12/2007, -2/+35Whoa whoa wait a second. Didn't a bunch of people pre-order Wii's from this place?
Wow, them's gonna be some pissed of people! - Sparticuz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+34Sony should drop their gaming division
- o0joshua0o, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30I'd love to hear the Sony fanboys try to defend this move. That is, if there still are Sony fanboys after everything Sony has pulled recently.
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29"Their games division is the only thing that has been keeping them alive."
Good reason for dropping it, I say. - Kanna, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26***** Sony.
- FullClip, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25The Phony Corp is run by a bunch of tools. But that's just my opinion. I have spent allot of time reading all the Diggs and linked articles on Sony, and I must say I have never seen a company go from such greatness to alienating its entire customer base. I for one will be playing both my 360 and Wii. I have already traded my PSP for a DS. Sony will never get my money!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23Lik-Sang R.I.P You will be missed :(
- meshgiath, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Lik Sang closed?
It's a sad sad day in video gaming - surfit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21So a Sony spokesperson admits their non-EU products are less safe? That's a really, really risky thing to admit... especially when you are using it to shut down an importer with a lot of fans.
- Naqaj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21great, no more import games for my PSP? So what then, use it as a brick to build a new house?
Sony, your marketing people are *****. - supergwiz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20Consumers gets screwed in the end again. Such a shame that multinationals with the biggest legal dept. always wins.
- ElliotShoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Lame sony... lame
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19I just don't understand how you can sue a company for distributing your product. WTF is that?
- incognit0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18I still remember getting my first ps2 mod chip from them.... tear :'(
- evilunleashed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Yet another reason to boycott Sony.
- Wratherin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19"Sony should drop their gaming division"
Their games division is the only thing that has been keeping them alive. - 15charmaxwtf, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19"ultimately, we're trying to protect consumers from being sold hardware that does not conform to strict EU or UK consumer safety standards, due to voltage supply differences et cetera; is not - in PS3's case - backwards compatible with either PS1 or PS2 software; will not play European Blu-Ray movies or DVDs; and will not be covered by warranty"
Thanks Sony, but quite frankly I can make up my own mind. What *****. - tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18*tumbleweed*
Nope, either the Sony fanboys are out to lunch, or there's none left. I suspect the latter. - dannywoodz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Did Sony seriously just say that they sued Lik Sang into a black hole over *safety* concerns?!? Phew. Am glad I have them watching out for me. Otherwise bad things could happen. Like laptop batteries bursting into flames...
- dan0368, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20I'm trying to like Sony and the PS3, I really am, but c'mon....
- therealgama, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17I am begining to wonder if there are any 'good' companies left. I liked Lik-Sang, they were the only ones that sold the joy frag.
- Michalson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14They can't - the single ruling isn't what is shutting them down (they could easily stop selling PSPs), it's the fact that Sony used one of the lowest lawsuit tactics possible, they filed in many seperate jurisdictions at once, so that Lik Sang would be forced to pay legal expenses for them all despite the fact that only one ruling was needed to stop them from selling imported PSPs in Europe. It's a basic money bleeding tactic - I have a lot more money then you, so I'm going to abuse the court system to make you pay 1 dollar for every 1 dollar I spend on legal costs. Since I have many more dollars then you, I can bankrupt you long before the actual legal matter is resolved.
- decades, on 10/12/2007, -7/+22@xerus
"My personal fav is selling "128M Flash Cartridges" for GBA... nowhere do they say that they're 128 megaBITS. And they sell them around the same price as you would expect for a 128Mbyte cartridge. There's no arguing the fact that they intentionally left out that important information. They might not do this anymore, but they did back when GBA linkers were a hot item, and I did business elsewhere because of it."
I'm guessing you got one then; and it serves you ***** right for being so stupid. Don't accuse them of being "shady ***** business" with no just reason for it. I had a nightmare order with them (through my fault, not theirs) and they were amazingly friendly, helpful and quick. I doubt I was the only one. - fani, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17rdawes --
you're an idiot.
if you buy the PS3, then you give Sony their asked price. If you then don't buy games ( tall order having just bought the console ), Sony only loses $10 / game say
If you don't buy the PS3 ( and hence no reason to buy any PS3 game at all ), Sony loses - $600 + every game royalty - btgoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13I hope they can sell the rest of their inventory.
I for one am not going to buy a PS3 as a protest, and I would sell my PSP if anyone would buy it... - Catalyst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14My preorder went down the drain..... just received email:
Order cancelled due to out of business
Dear valued customer,
unfortunately, Lik Sang is forced to close its virtual doors for good. This
comes as a consequence of the several legal actions brought on us by Sony.
For more information on the situation, please point your browser to the
following link:

Therefore, as soon as humanly possible, we will cancel all existing orders,
including yours, and issue refunds where necessary.
Please note that it may take anywhere from a few days up to a week or two
for refunds to be processed by PayPal, your bank or your credit card
company, so please don't worry if you don't see it immediately on your
balance statement. You can rest assured that Lik-Sang is monitoring the
situation closely with all involved parties. No single customer will be
caught in the crossfire of this ordeal.
We are sorry to have to go, and we wish to thank you sincerely your support
over the past decade.
Warm regards and a big THANK YOU from the entire Hong Kong crew.
Team Lik-Sang - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Aw man, this is where I got my DS Lite and GP2X.
- EddyUk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Yet another good reason not to buy Sony
- Klarth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Thing is, the consoles met EU safety standards. Read the article.
- iamichi, on 11/12/2008, -1/+14"As of today, Lik-Sang.com will not be in the position to accept any new orders and will cancel and refund all existing orders that have already been placed.".... looks like they're going to give refunds...
- Wynner3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I finally have justification for my refusal of buying Sony stuff. I never bought a PS1 or 2 and will definately not buy the 3. Especially since they really haven't changed their controller! I hate that thing and they just won't change it. Anyway, I loved lik-sang, I bought quite a few things there.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13you know what? ***** $ONY!!11
