  • hawk0168, on 10/16/2007, -2/+2Who was conducting? They don't seem like a regular orchestral conductor. My only thing is that most (if not all in my experience) orchestral and symphonic conductors put the downbeat on the "up" part of their motion. The only way I can rationalize this is because the downbeat is normally on the "up" motion for the strings. But I'm a drummer, what do I know?

    • Bklynadam, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5The conductor makes a "U" motion with the baton and the beat falls at the lowest point of the U. However, most conductors also have a very fast follow-through with their arm motion so it looks like the beat might be at the top, where there is a slight pause. I am also a drummer, and I think I had to alter my natural tendencies when I learned to conduct.

    • Mizzike, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2The conductor was perfectly in sync with his orchestra; the problem in the video is the encoding -- sometimes when video gets encoded by YouTube and other sites, the audio is out of sync with the video. In this case, you can find this exact same video on Google Video and it's a little more in sync.

      The group is called Play! and they do concerts all over the world.

  • BobbyMC, on 07/21/2008, -0/+18They did make a CD of this stuff, and that was just 1 of 13 songs. The rest are from Ocarina of Time, and they are AMAZING. It is called Hyrule Symphony, and is unfortunately very rare. Since this is Digg however, there's a solution.

  • BobbyMC, on 07/21/2008, -0/+4Gerudo is my least favorite actually because it was forced to depart so much from the original. I LOVE the theme in game but it is translated the worst.

    My personal favorite is the Death Mountain theme. Or rather, what is actually the Goron city theme. The plucking on that is godly.

Symphony (http://www.play-symphony.com/) i saw all these a few weeks ago at the sydney first show. its a wonderful thing and i even have vip passes and i went back stage met the conductor and the music composer that has done the silent hill series. it was a great nite.
