no more dragon age - Sexercise, on 11/09/2009, -0/+40They made that game such a joke.
The half-severed heads, limbs, excessive bloodshed and massive piles of dead zombies are the REASON people buy these games.

DRAGON AGE CAN SUCK IT! - TrainByte, on 11/09/2009, -1/+18Is that the noise guns make in the AU?
- NovaPrime9, on 11/09/2009, -0/+16Odd. I'm using Adblock and I still get this.
- gegan249, on 11/09/2009, -2/+16***** YOU DRAGON AGE.
- DestroyedAUS, on 11/09/2009, -1/+15They don't care about movies. Adults watch movies. Kids play games. Stupid ***** lack of consistency.
- rx8geek, on 11/09/2009, -0/+13FFS South Australia! Get your ***** together and do something about that douchebag Michael Atkinson will you!!!!!!!!
- MrSteamTank, on 11/09/2009, -0/+12Get your mind out of the gutter. It's just a rocket ship.
- Culyt, on 11/09/2009, -1/+13Adblock dude.
- Sexercise, on 11/09/2009, -1/+13Agreed.
- dctrainor, on 11/09/2009, -0/+12Isn't that how they sound to you? you know...
****** shotgun* -squeak squeak- and then flowers come out instead of bullets - CPMartin, on 11/09/2009, -0/+10So this BS is all because of one man voting 'no' to R18+ games eh? Trust it to be some loser from South Australia..
- RealmDown, on 11/09/2009, -0/+10Well,
I do
mind
it.
Guess
why ? - SSUK, on 11/09/2009, -1/+11Doesn't return the page to full screen goodness. =/
- reticulate, on 11/09/2009, -0/+9It's pretty much a given that Atkinson isn't going to budge on the R18+ issue until he retires or loses his seat. The fact that one man can hold the entire process hostage despite all the inconsistency in our ratings process shows the OFLC needs serious reform.
- LoneWolf01, on 11/09/2009, -0/+9We are...
http://www.gamers4croydon.org/ - jeremymccurdy, on 11/09/2009, -0/+9I wouldn't mind if they changed the background as long as they left the ***** page width alone.
- Mzungu, on 11/09/2009, -0/+9I'm so glad i just moved here, first it was the ***** expensive alcohol, then it was the internet caps, now this *****...ugh...meh its still 90 degrees in November guess ill go outside
- LimeParrot, on 11/09/2009, -4/+13OM NOM NOM
- MrSteamTank, on 11/09/2009, -0/+8I think this ad is missing some super loud audio as well. I mean if you want to piss us off why not go all the way?
- K0opa, on 11/09/2009, -0/+7Well.. It is possible to remove the censor now. Atleast in the demo.
- hypogenic, on 11/09/2009, -0/+6javascript:function digg(){document.body.style.background="#E5ECF3 none repeat scroll 0 0"} digg()
This from another post helped me a bit. Just paste into location bar. Will get rid of background. - daviz0, on 11/09/2009, -0/+6that kinda looks like a .....
- nofx1510, on 11/09/2009, -1/+7We shouldn't have to use Adblock to get rid of a an Ad like this, Digg needs to understand that this is something that is pissing off its users and needs to get rid of if. Adblock only covers up the problem it doesn't fully remove it.
- Rizzen, on 11/09/2009, -0/+5malformed. Is this what you meant?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OH7QCtuaXgI - tgc1, on 11/09/2009, -0/+5Oh that reminds me. I need to go out and buy another copy of Dragon Age.
/s - Astheria, on 11/09/2009, -0/+4Remove the Dragon Age Ad AND fix the width of Digg back to a fluid state:
javascript:function digg(){document.body.style.background="#E5ECF3 none repeat scroll 0 0";document.getElementById('container').style.maxWidth="100% !important";} digg() - Andrwmorph, on 11/09/2009, -0/+4Its a lot harder to glance at Digg at work when there is a giant CG guy staring at you from the side of the screen!
- DanAshcroft, on 11/09/2009, -0/+4Hmm, I wonder what Mad Max 4 will be like if they are getting upset by a computer game.
- reticulate, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3Their ability to distribute in Australia could well be curtailed if they just provided the uncensored version here via Steam. It's not like the ESRB where it's a voluntary industry body, here it's mandated at a federal level.
I actually don't mind ratings. If they're consistent and they make sense to begin with I'm all for educating people. It's when it becomes a political football in the name of censorship that it annoys me.
Kind of like how in America TV is (was?) time-delayed by a little just in case Janette Jackson slips another nipple during prime time so they can cut the feed or whatever. It serves no real purpose beyond satisfying the requirements of the few that view anything not explicitly within their closeted worldview as being immoral or whatever. Pointless, asinine but apparently worth the expense. - eanbowman, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3Wow, you're quick to judge. I was happy to leave the ads on before when they were unobtrusive.
Now that they crush the page, or play annoying sounds randomly like the Where the Wild Things are ones I don't want to.
I like supporting sites I enjoy. This site is making itself less enjoyable though. :c - SpecialLee, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3I've said my piece. I emailed his office with an excerpt from http://www.r18games.com.au/
They will reply asking for your address, give it to them because they NEED to see real people behind these things. - jeremymccurdy, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3The page is still crushed and ugly.
- BubblesTheChimp, on 11/09/2009, -1/+4Digg, please here this loud and clear.
I WILL NOT ***** BUY DRAGON AGE NOW BECAUSE OF THESE ANNOYING ADS!
Am I clear? - Sushiman, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3Obnoxious ads make me not want to buy the games they advertise!
- Sexercise, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3Phukin eh! Dugg.
- SamOut, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3Damn.. It feels akward typing when that guy on the left is staring at my comment-box. Damn dragon, do your job and kill it with fire.
- j3ff86, on 11/09/2009, -1/+3The dragon age ad, the?
/sideshow bob - cfuse, on 11/09/2009, -0/+2He could always oblige us by dying. That works too.
- IHaveIssues, on 11/09/2009, -0/+2Here's a good comparison video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OH7QCtuaXg
- Solkre, on 11/09/2009, -0/+2My god, thank you!
- reticulate, on 11/09/2009, -1/+3To distribute games in Australia for sale you have to submit them for review.
As Steam has local content servers in a few of our states and charges for purchases of said content, as far as I can tell they're still bound by that restriction.
At the moment, only MMO's are not rated, but this will likely change with the amendments being discussed currently. - Myztry, on 11/09/2009, -0/+2What's the deal? Valve Corporation, based in Bellevue, Washington...
Well outside of Australian jurisdiction. It's not like Steam downloads go through customs.
It's the same issue they have with gambling and the lack of ability to tax foreign companies (thus making it illegal gambling).
There's SFA that can be done about it unless perhaps if they use the credit card clearing houses to reach into the transactions.
Or how Americans can buy books on growing Marijuana (which is illegal is the US regardless of quantity). There just isn't a global governing body making it essentially impossible to regulate. - drewba, on 11/09/2009, -1/+3that is graphic...
- TheScotsman1980, on 11/09/2009, -1/+3Adsweep doesn't work for the background on Chrome. :0(
- Myztry, on 11/09/2009, -0/+1"here it's mandated at a federal level."
To Australians and Australian companies. Problem is their is no jurisdiction over foreign companies operating outside of Australia.
Why do you think they are so keen to implement ISP level filtering. They are the ports in lieu of customs.
I don't have an issue with our ratings systems either. I think they're fine and the continual pushing of the boundaries just serves to desensitize people.
But that's not my point. My point is they have no means to enforce the laws - no jurisdiction. They can make all the laws they want for the good it will do them.
America manages to enforce it's will through "Fair Trade Agreements" and the like - but there is a distinct unbalance of power in regards to Australia achieving the same.
The U.S. stands to profit from these "exports" whether they are illegal in the other country or not as they collect those taxes.
The U.S. is not one to easily let others get in the way of their own vested interests. - inactive, on 11/10/2009, -0/+1Just get a New Zealander friend of yours to gift you a copy of L4D2, uncut apparently. EZYPZY :D
