On the other hand, user generated content is hugely popular in the RPG mod scene, yet the Sims does not have any decent tools for content creation.

it's about time some people step up and defend this console. It's a chatroom and arcade with a 3D enviroment. What's not to like? You're essentially getting a number of simple titles akin to Wii Sports for free.

I am interested in Home though, I like the idea of being able to jump online and go talk to your friends in a non-formal way through the PS3. If so, then no, you're not the only one.
At first, I found it annoying because I had wrongly assumed that people would be required to use it to get anything done online. Sony claims it won't be necessary, though, and that a menu-based online system will also be implemented. Or at least that's what I think. After hearing that, I don't really care about Home in the least. I'm not big on online socializing, especially not through MMOs.

They currently have no idea how they are actually going to build this environment nor do they even know if it's possible.
