- zorplex, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I have seen the same effect in Gears as well but it is not nearly as noticeable as it is in Halo 2 or this video. Perhaps it is because Gears has smaller maps and the combat happens at a smaller range but it stands out so much more in Halo than it ever does in Gears. Then again, it may just be inherent differences in the game engines. Either way it bugs me to no end when I'm playing Halo.
If I turn out wrong and the game is beautiful in motion so much the better! But, as of now, I am underwhelmed.

Apart from that, after watching the video at least a dozen times and talking to others about it I stand by my previous remarks. I admit the character models and animation have improved but I still don't see anything that would impress me. It seems as if everyone on Digg is swooning over the amazing graphics that this video has unveiled. Those must be some awesome rose tinted glasses you guys have on.
I love the Halo franchise. I have played the game since the launch of the first Xbox and have hosted several of my own LAN parties dating back to 2002. I have read every book at least once and am in no way a hater of the series. But to say that these graphics are anything more than mediocre (beta or not) is giving this video way too much credit. Perhaps I am wrong. Maybe, once we get the beta and/or the final game, the graphics will be stunning. How do you know if the shields don't regenerate? The video was too short to tell that was what was happening. That was the basis for Halo that other shooters try to copy. I wish we were just given our health bar back unless they did something where it remembers how close to dieing you were before the shields regenerated. - DrunKao, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I this map High Grounds?
