LEGO Universe Could Be The Big-Next Thing in MMO

blog.wired.com — LEGO Universe, the upcoming LEGO-branded MMO, can best be described as "LEGO Star Wars multiplied by a million," according to Mark Hansen, the Director of Business Development for the LEGO Group.

Something like Zelda is far more mature than something like Grand Theft Auto. Games like GTA might have so-called "mature content" but that doesn't mean that the game play is mature or designed to appeal to a mature mentality. In fact it's designed to appeal specifically to an immature mentality. Which is okay, I'm not saying enjoying Grand Theft Auto is immature, it's a great game, but the part of you that enjoys that kind of game play is not the adult part of you, it's the most childish. Again, I'm NOT criticizing that, games like that are great, but the whole idea of them being mature or adult is a little bit backwards. Rather it just means you should be an adult (or have an adult decide for you) before it's okay to play something so wildly immature.

I would build them as big as possible with as many different traps as possible, then I would take my lego people and have them walk through it, and they would all die horrendous deaths... and I would laugh then send in the next wave.

      An MMO would probably work pretty well, although they would have to change the combat system because its a bit dry.

The GC one was semi-terrible if I remember right, as they stripped out a ton of features that had been added to the series on the handheld versions. Kinda weird for a console port of a handheld game to have less features than a handheld game, but there it was..

The pokemon batte arenas aren't the types of games I'm talking about. Those games do not allow you, to walk around and experience an entire pokemon world, unless I'm mistaken.

I could see a quest where you'll need 250 brown bricks, 125 purple bricks (that drop from high level mobs) and 24 clear bricks (that only drop from the highest end raid) are needed to complete your Lego guild housing.

    I pray that this game does not become a brick farming wonderland.
