  • murphy11211, on 06/27/2008, -5/+142-----Cant----- wait for EP3. All the Half lifes I think undoubtly make up one of the best gaming experiences ever. The story line is just incredible (and bloody confusing) and gameplay is beautiful. In my eyes its going to take a lot to make a game better than the Half Life's.

    Can't wait to finish it all.

I know the girl that they used as the model for the "love interest" in the game. They scanned her face and did motion capture, so I think that's a pretty good sign that things are moving forward.

    They also showed her some stuff from the game, not sure if it was actual gameplay, but they showed her basically what the game was and how they would use her likeness, etc. She said it was pretty awesome.

  • Kalior, on 06/27/2008, -1/+19well Doom3 was impressive because of it's shadow technology. Engine developers these days are all involved in a bloomy pissing contest of epic proportions so it's not much a stretch.

    I am looking forward to seeing what one, 20gb "mega-texture" looks like though
  • paidhima, on 06/27/2008, -0/+18The original Half-Life was pretty evolutionary in its time. It didn't completely reinvent the wheel, but it brought the genre forward in a big big way. It doesn't age so well, as HL2 (and damn near every other FPS after HL1) has borrowed from it and improved on it. Nevertheless, it was a defining moment in the history of PC gaming.

    I'd rather they not remake the series because, honestly, they don't need to and it'd be a waste of manpower. I'd rather (and from what I can tell, they would too) they make new games. like Half-Life 3.
