- LimeParrot, on 12/02/2007, -4/+625It looks like a fair review. He went through all the problems and pointed out the good ideas that failed in execution. It's BS that he got fired...
- phantasyhero, on 12/02/2007, -2/+43Agreed. CNet needs to realize that the websites they run can't be biased off of advertisement. The review was by no means the most bashful, or insulting review on the site.
- nospinhere, on 12/02/2007, -1/+8I want to voice my outrage.
- pAq6Swad, on 09/16/2008, -0/+26I'm pretty sure you've altered the definition of 'bashful'. Haha
- GrassrootsNinja, on 12/02/2007, -35/+16Are all video reviews this bad? Maybe it was a fair review but it was poorly executed. His review is somewhat repetitive and circular, and poorly structured. All and all I can't blame Gamespot for firing him, but I also can't blame people for calling Gamespot a bought-out company.
- oxdeltaxo, on 12/02/2007, -2/+13Nah its just the game sucks so badly the review was brought by it. The game is *****, so what motivation does he have to make the review sound good?
All video reviews are pretty much the same.- GawtMilk, on 12/02/2007, -1/+5The game isn't *****. It's not great, but played it for an hour and a half at a friends house and had fun. It's not as bad as the review makes it out to be, but it's just not as good as other games out there.
- GawtMilk, on 12/02/2007, -1/+3Another point I'd like to make is that this whole mob mentality thing is stupid. We don't know the full story. If the review was why he was fired, why is his review still up on the Gamespot website? I'm not talking about the video [which explicitly showed screenshots of the word "*****"], I'm talking about the text review which contained the same critiques and the same score. If they pulled the video and fired him because of a bad review, why would they keep up the same negative review [albeit without the swear words]? Or his 1,000+ other reviews, many of which were negative and many of which were games made by sponsors? - Jeffler, on 12/02/2007, -0/+2Because they're trying to make it seem like this isn't why it happened, so if they get rid of it they're just admitting it?

- Zuggy, on 12/02/2007, -1/+2Yeah I generally prefer written reviews because video reviews, in my experience, either aren't long enough to cover all that needs to be covered or are done by people who don't make a career put of talking to a camera.
Fair: yes
Sucky: sorta
On par with most video reviews: pretty mcuh
- oxdeltaxo, on 12/02/2007, -2/+13Nah its just the game sucks so badly the review was brought by it. The game is *****, so what motivation does he have to make the review sound good?
- spoiled1, on 12/02/2007, -1/+32This game really sucks, it has nothing "next gen" to offer.
I rented it from Blockbuster and returned it the next day.- dyranios2, on 12/02/2007, -18/+20Isn't that what you are supposed to do when you rent a game?
- Arramol, on 12/02/2007, -1/+23Most places rent out for multiple days at a time. He's saying the game was so bad, it wasn't worth keeping for the entire rental period.
- rossinio, on 12/02/2007, -7/+1Well at least you didn't waste your money by not playing the game you paid to rent, oh wait..
- ZMerlin, on 12/02/2007, -6/+1Thanks for that explanation there. I was having trouble figuring that one out for myself. :)
- darkecho, on 12/02/2007, -0/+2The Blockbuster around here lets you keep them for 6 days. Not sure if its the same everywhere else. I very rarely rent from them.
- Arramol, on 12/02/2007, -1/+23Most places rent out for multiple days at a time. He's saying the game was so bad, it wasn't worth keeping for the entire rental period.

-Gamespot
- dyranios2, on 12/02/2007, -18/+20Isn't that what you are supposed to do when you rent a game?
- GamemasterB, on 12/02/2007, -32/+2Personally, I think he got fired because of the "F-Word" part. Gamespot wants to make the site fairly PG, but as he explains that it's "every third word", the immediate scene afterward had text at the bottom with a clearly visible "*****" in the subtitles.
Just my 2 cents.- every1else, on 12/02/2007, -0/+12I don't believe we was in charge of editing the review and putting the game play segments in. And is saying ***** was the reason, they would never had put it up.
- keiran4u4eva, on 12/02/2007, -0/+13But he was making a point. The game's not going to be a PG, so why bother giving it a PG review? It's ***** ridiculous the guy got sacked!
- econojon, on 12/02/2007, -2/+38I wonder if there if there is some other 3rd reason why he could be fired...like the company had to sign an agreement or something that they couldn't talk about it. Like....maybe he got caught having sex with two secretaries at the same time....or maybe he put cocaine into his boss's brownies....or maybe he got teh_aids and slipped on a strategy guide and went tumbling into the kitchen where he hit a table and a knife dropped while everyone was there with a cake singing "Happy Birthday" and the knife slit the side of his neck spilling his aids blood all over everyone and in the cake and gave everyone aids and became a health risk and had to be fired. I mean....you never know!
- evlpanda, on 12/02/2007, -0/+16Likely, but pics or it didn't happen.
- precision256, on 12/02/2007, -0/+2Wouldn't they have to fire everyone he infected or if you look at it another way he's no longer a health risk.
- Exhaust, on 12/05/2007, -0/+3HAHAHA The AIDS thing is the best Gerstmann fired theory EVAR!
- Malte33, on 12/02/2007, -1/+5 Kane and Lynch it's not a bad game, but Gerstmann is right with his points. It's not a Blockbuster ... like eidos said.
- OAKsider, on 12/02/2007, -8/+1I like how you tied in Blockbuster to your point. Is this their new marketing attempt to bring their lame store back from the dead?
"Oh my, that game was horrible, it was not a Blockbuster." Or "I cannot be a Blockbuster in K&L because they have no destructible environments."- afidler, on 12/02/2007, -0/+4someone read way too far into Malte33's comment.
- OAKsider, on 12/02/2007, -8/+1I like how you tied in Blockbuster to your point. Is this their new marketing attempt to bring their lame store back from the dead?
- Sephaa, on 12/02/2007, -0/+3The game looked kinda dodgy for a shooter though I haven't played it yet. Did anyone else also think this game simply looks like a few missions of GTA without vehicles, even looks like the same graphics too.
- shinynew, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1he did use the U word alot, it really started to seem like a crutch.
- fuzzynyanko, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1Pretty good review. A bit to the negative side, but I expect that on any review at all.
- Narfmaster, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1Agreed, that was one of the most honest reviews I've seen.
- nytel, on 12/03/2007, -1/+3He should of got fired just wearing that ECKO shirt.
- cawpin, on 12/03/2007, -2/+1Maybe he should HAVE?
- ToRoE, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Takes some balls to bite the hand that feeds you like that. Considering gamespots commitment to this game and the amount of $$ they took from eidos, it begs to be asked; were the heck was his editor?
That review, with a few minor changes could have kept a lot of the honesty and still left it up to the gamer on whether to go buy the game or not.
I say fire the editor and if that is this Jeff dude, well then they are all set.
- phantasyhero, on 12/02/2007, -2/+43Agreed. CNet needs to realize that the websites they run can't be biased off of advertisement. The review was by no means the most bashful, or insulting review on the site.
- Noureddin, on 12/02/2007, -66/+4He got fired? Wonder why... He's so good it seems.
- tubeblender, on 12/02/2007, -3/+48Spoken like a true former special olympics champion.
- ruddy, on 12/02/2007, -0/+40
- tubeblender, on 12/02/2007, -2/+11I should have known that was coming, but I wrote it anyway. I will however amend my previous post to sate my sincerest apologies to the special olympics and the true champions that compete there. These guys would have cheated to win.

- Appox, on 12/02/2007, -10/+514Good review. Can't wait to see more gamespot reviews from this guy.
- jggr, on 12/02/2007, -8/+169Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but fyi: there's a big ***** going on around here regarding this story.
Either way, I agree... can't wait to see what site gets this dude. Whoever they are, they'll get my support. - tubeblender, on 12/02/2007, -50/+12He was fired from Gamespot, so you won't see any more from him on that site.
- Protonz, on 12/02/2007, -2/+88Maybe GameTrailers can snap him up. GT has better quality reviews anyway.
- terencec, on 12/02/2007, -13/+3GT has a bias of 360 over PS3... I own both, for sure I do not agree with them on the exclusives reviews they got over there
- JapaneseEconomy, on 12/02/2007, -1/+8GT is bias to Call of Duty 4. While a great game they scored it better than any other game. They are getting massive advertising from Activision for the game. And have you seen all their self made promotional videos for the game. They have already said it was game of the year. Sure its not as bad as gamespot since Kane & lynch is a mediocre game but for regular users with a keen eye you can see they are influenced by ad revenue as well.
- natastna2, on 12/02/2007, -3/+6Yeah but at least COD4 is an amazing game.
- Archeologist, on 12/02/2007, -3/+1COD4 is the best FPS game I've ever played. Everything is so well thought out. It is also the only game that I've liked the singleplayer AND multiplayer modes.
- DefaultGen, on 12/03/2007, -1/+2Gametrailers terribly overrates many games.
- themastersb, on 12/02/2007, -22/+3Op is a troll.
- pradaaddict, on 12/02/2007, -5/+23i see what you did there...
- jggr, on 12/02/2007, -8/+169Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but fyi: there's a big ***** going on around here regarding this story.
- Lane, on 12/02/2007, -5/+166He goes too easy on the game if anything...
- notque, on 12/02/2007, -2/+13It is pretty difficult to get across the extreme suck of many games. And even then I could probably name one thing interesting or nice about them. I think I'm getting old for this.
- taquitohater, on 12/02/2007, -0/+2Yahtzee did a great job at it with Jericho, I know I'm never touching it now that I've watched his review.
- stigma15, on 12/02/2007, -0/+29Didn't he rate the game a 6 (out of 10)? Listening to the review, it sounds like it should have got a 3.
- Icupnimpn2, on 12/02/2007, -0/+4I guess he felt the game's unique ideas buoyed up the score a bit in the face of hackneyed dialog, unlikable characters, poor AI, and unreliable cover mechanics.

- KbuPlatinum, on 12/02/2007, -4/+23Maybe we should start doubting the credibility of CNET's tech reviews
- s1mph0ny, on 12/02/2007, -1/+30What, you don't already?
- OAKsider, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1You should already be doubting the credibility of all reviews in which there may be a conflict of interest.
Some of the worst offenders are magazines, which are bleeding cash nowadays, but CNET would also qualify.
Very basically, the more advertising (esp from those they are reviewing), the less credibility.
- gypsi, on 12/02/2007, -0/+12sometimes i look at a cnet review and wonder if anyone over there even opened the box or installed the software. some reviews read like advertising - in fact i can't tell what the hell is or isn't advertising at cnet. to save trouble, i just skip cnet when google gives results to their site.
- KbuPlatinum, on 12/02/2007, -4/+23Maybe we should start doubting the credibility of CNET's tech reviews
- pronouncable, on 12/02/2007, -1/+92When will people learn pulling something because it's bad always brings in more attention that it would've had originally.
- arbulus, on 12/02/2007, -0/+14Streisand Effect
- tubeblender, on 12/02/2007, -11/+240Obligatory: ***** Gamespot for firing this guy
- Sroek, on 12/02/2007, -0/+8More like Cnet and Joshua Larsen.
- ruddy, on 12/02/2007, -0/+64
- Sawta, on 12/02/2007, -4/+2Yeah, why should be need accountability for game reviewers, or any reviewers, for that matter? I mean, we're ONLY spending: 60$ for possibly terrible, lack luster, poorly designed game...
and, well..250$-400$+ for systems that may or may not work properly...
AND 3,000$+ on a TV that may (or may not) show true 720p. I mean, COME ON, I just want to just trust whatever someone else is telling me. They're certainly getting paid well enough..they probably...kind of know what they're talking about..right?
- Sawta, on 12/02/2007, -4/+2Yeah, why should be need accountability for game reviewers, or any reviewers, for that matter? I mean, we're ONLY spending: 60$ for possibly terrible, lack luster, poorly designed game...
- rwallen, on 12/02/2007, -1/+75Gamespot has been getting pretty bad lately. They gave Jericho 6.5 / 10, that was the worst game I've played all year.
- therightclique, on 12/02/2007, -0/+11phew. i thought i was the only one that could play it for more than 13 seconds without wanting to die.
- Rockmaninoff, on 12/02/2007, -3/+2*couldn't.
Why is he getting dugg up? Come on, Digg, read the comments!!!

all that needs to be said about that god forsaken game - tavisjohn, on 12/02/2007, -0/+5I would have liked Jericho a little better.... If I could save ANY DAMN TIME I WANTED TOO!!!!!
- MonkCanatella, on 12/02/2007, -8/+2Jericho wasn't bad. It had some good graphics, and some pretty interesting abilities
- microbefox, on 12/02/2007, -2/+1ditto

- AshamedAmerican, on 12/02/2007, -6/+119I have a feeling it was his last comments on "not paying full price for the game" or "dont buy it" that did him in.
- tas08, on 12/02/2007, -9/+18You could be right cause when I heard that I immediately thought, "What? Not pay full... OH! BitTorrent, riiiight." and that could be a problem.
- Groovemaster, on 12/02/2007, -0/+71He obviously meant to wait until the price of the game goes down before buying it. He may not have been a well-liked reviewer but he definitely wasn't so stupid as to advocate piracy.
- s1mph0ny, on 12/02/2007, -0/+24Groovemaster is correct. Any time a review alludes to not paying full price they are implying that you wait until it is cheaper. A lot of movie reviewers will suggest that you don't watch a movie unless it's on cable, etc.
- juckman, on 12/02/2007, -0/+65I think he meant to rent it. You guys are overthinking.
- 1timeuser, on 12/02/2007, -9/+2dont you mean underthinking? perhaps there is a very thin line.
- starf, on 12/02/2007, -0/+25Or find it on sale/used.
- TMac08, on 12/02/2007, -0/+7I'm pretty sure he meant to rent it/borrow.
- happyfundave, on 12/02/2007, -1/+3It might be what did him in but isn't that exactly why people use reviews, to determine if a product is worth the amount of money being asked for.
- chris9902, on 12/02/2007, -1/+1He was reviewing the Xbox version so anyone who has the means and will to hack the Xbox 360 probably weren't going to pay for it anyway.
I means rent/bargin bin.
- MaddGIJoe, on 12/02/2007, -2/+131Hahah if anything I think Jeff made me want to check out the multiplayer... that actually sounds like a cool idea for a gametype.
- Zuggy, on 12/02/2007, -0/+8He states that the game does have some redeeming factors
- rebotfc, on 12/03/2007, -0/+1Hence getting a 6 out of 10. It's ***** how people view a 6 as supposedly aweful, when on a 1 to 10 scale it's above average.
- ch0pst1cks, on 12/02/2007, -30/+5He was actually pretty harsh, even on a bad looking game.
- therightclique, on 12/02/2007, -2/+15no. he wasn't. i have played this game extensively. i HAVE to play this game at my job. it is a very very bad game.
- Lane, on 12/02/2007, -1/+3What the hell do you do? beta test?
- schroeder, on 12/02/2007, -0/+3The game is stuck in the console at the Gamestop where he works.
- Rekzai, on 12/02/2007, -2/+1I thought it was pretty good

- silverbullet126, on 12/02/2007, -1/+25After Rich Gallup left (really to bad .. he was cool) things started to go down hill, not that Jeff is gone I really don't see a point in going back to gamespot. I canceled my paid subscription today and I doubt I'll ever go back. Bye Bye gamespot!
- tubeblender, on 12/02/2007, -8/+2CANCELLED MINE AS WELL. Did you see that Gamesuck? / irony

- TheAtomicMoose, on 12/02/2007, -1/+19Why would you ever pay for game reviews?
- dinoignacio, on 12/02/2007, -1/+7Truth be told, it was after Greg Kasavin left that things went down hill. He was who made sure the editorial part of GameSpot was separate from the adsales part. Greg would never have let this kind of thing happen. I used to work at GameSpot Live and I know how much integrity the whole team has. It's all the CNET upper management that's screwing things up.

I hadn't realized the video review had been pulled. - moowa, on 12/02/2007, -11/+14Why would you pay for information you can get free? I don't understand why you would pay Gamespot.
- pronouncable, on 12/02/2007, -1/+16There are other benefits to subscribing. Their reviews _are_ free.
- omgwthlol, on 12/02/2007, -0/+3like what
- JenadaeXX, on 12/02/2007, -3/+24Um, this was a most accurate and well done review. Its really ashame he got fired... hopefully he'll get a job with a more honest truthful company all though I'm sure they wont pay as well...
- krakkinem, on 12/02/2007, -3/+181I was expecting him to brutalize the game, but instead he was pretty fair. He got fired for being honest, and that's pretty ***** up.
- shootinputin187, on 12/02/2007, -5/+14"The game is probably not worth purchase," "probably" sealed his fate.
- LuxFX, on 12/02/2007, -0/+3I'd say it was the "not" that got him.
- ahhell, on 12/02/2007, -1/+22Seemed like a pretty fair review. ***** Gamespot in their stupid asses.

- Plepo, on 12/02/2007, -14/+2*Goes to GameFAQs and makes "LOL GAMESPOT" topic #231320654654213*
- sirbeta, on 12/02/2007, -0/+27Well, I can see why they were so pissed off with his review, he basically tells you never to buy the game. But even that said; these sites are supposed to be fair and unbiased. This is in its purest form an unbiased review and he deserved much better than he got for doing his job the way he was supposed to do it. It's things like this that make it impossible to trust any review site.
- optoomistic, on 12/02/2007, -28/+2sorry if this is your uncle but WHO GIVES A *****?
- mrbrianxyz, on 12/02/2007, -11/+1yeah jeeziz omg video game reviews
- s1mph0ny, on 12/02/2007, -0/+8Somebody just got fired over an advertiser. Now all reviews by the site need to be called in to question. It's always wrong to fire someone who is doing their job correctly.
- cfulp, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1It setts a bad precedent. If all game review sites, were scared to accurately rate a game, you'd probably end up buying ***** games.
- mrbrianxyz, on 12/02/2007, -11/+1yeah jeeziz omg video game reviews
- iamjero, on 12/02/2007, -3/+46He was not harsh. The game sucks. Play it, and you will find that out. I have gamefly and I sent it back the day I got it. Instead I played titles like mass effect, orange box, drakes fortune, call of duty 4, etc.
Kane and Lynch feels like something they threw together to compete with Army of Two, but fell extremely short. The engine provides graphics that dont impress, and the AI is generally some of the worst ive seen, especially when talking about a squad based game.
His thoughts hit the nail on the head, and it was an unbiased review. Penny arcade sum'd the story up with the comic, and hopefully the guy gets another job. Shame they let him go during the holidays for what many people deem a fair review. - Rapter09, on 12/02/2007, -1/+23Probably the most accurate review I've seen on Gamespot all year and he gets fired for it? He even tells people the thing they want to know straight up: It isn't worth the full purchase, but check it out if you can.
- SilverBack101, on 12/02/2007, -1/+5Fight the good fight!
- Godlike, on 12/02/2007, -1/+6The problem here is they have a poor concept, I'm sorry... but they are not trying to make a game that is fun, they are trying to make a game that will sell... remember, if you buy that game you are paying for them to pay gamespot to trick you into buying it. The end result? Game over.
- lopla, on 12/02/2007, -0/+15wiped gamespot from my faves list after the dude got fired. total BS, hope he sues their asses.
- TheZorch, on 12/02/2007, -10/+7I don't get game reviews from Gamespot. I either watch X-Play, or get reviews from 1UP or one of the other non-Cnet affiliated websites. If Gamespot went away it wouldn't bother me, and if they continued on this track they will "go away".
- TurboBeard, on 12/02/2007, -0/+16Seriously? X-play? That show is for retarded kids...
- s1mph0ny, on 12/02/2007, -2/+7X-play is boring, but it's not so bad compared to other afternoon shows. It's at least mildly entertaining.
- TurboBeard, on 12/02/2007, -0/+16Seriously? X-play? That show is for retarded kids...
- BillyNeverDies, on 12/02/2007, -1/+49Jeff was my favorite reviewer on their site. His reviews were always honest and completely fair. It sucks that he got fired, but he's pretty much gained a fan club because of this, and I'm sure he'll have NO problem finding another job with a good site or magazine.
- Laxaloot, on 12/02/2007, -0/+5I think he should go the way of all other internet celebs and just create his own startup podcast and review site
- gleepskip, on 12/02/2007, -0/+2He should approach Revision3... well, as long as they don't get bought by Rupert Murdoch.
- Laxaloot, on 12/02/2007, -0/+5I think he should go the way of all other internet celebs and just create his own startup podcast and review site
- fudged71, on 12/02/2007, -0/+12wtf.... that was a good review !!!!
- atdakore, on 12/02/2007, -50/+2wow, how old is everyone here???
this review was like an old old man reviewing a sports car.
I do not think he gets the point of this game. It looks and sounds awesome. all the ugliness he talks about sound fabulous.
Do we really want old people reviewing games designed for 16-24 year olds. He really sounds like an old man, enjoy your job, and enjoy the game. I would have fired him, for being out of touch, and downright rude.- zaid, on 12/02/2007, -0/+23Wow, thank you Eidos Employee for your amazingly original take on the situation.
- gypsi, on 12/02/2007, -0/+18let me guess - no pubes yet?
- Sabretou, on 12/02/2007, -0/+8You obsession with (hating) old men, combined with your first statement is scaring me.
- cfulp, on 12/02/2007, -0/+5Your absolutely right. I don't want a guy who's been reviewing games for 11 years, I want a guy who has no experience! Seriously though, his stuff is spot on. Terrible story, combined with poor AI, and borderline unusable cover mechanics. With all the good games that come out, what's the point of playing a mediocre one? And I'm 23...so, I guess this game wasn't designed for me.
- Pureeviljester, on 12/02/2007, -1/+7although i'm sure the game sucked.. who thinks robbers are likable?
- cthulhulou, on 12/02/2007, -0/+6Ocean and Rusty are likable.
- shauncullen, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1Ocean and Rusty don't rob banks using guns.
- jonlubbe, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1People seem to like Lupin the Third.
- thiviari, on 12/02/2007, -0/+2robin hood was also very popular...although he did have that whole 'giving to the poor' thing going for him.
- chrispr, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1Ocean's 11?
- oofgeg, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1Those guys in Bandits were likable at times.
- cthulhulou, on 12/02/2007, -0/+6Ocean and Rusty are likable.
- RegalGSX, on 12/02/2007, -16/+10***** Gamespot, you *****-sucking ***** ***** *****-lickers.
- Sawta, on 12/02/2007, -0/+3That'll show 'em!
- Shuk, on 12/02/2007, -1/+26Wow I actually thought that the "infamous" review would be him trashing the game in an over the top, "big rigs" kind of way. This was actually a well spoken, informative review and I actually feel like I know all of the game's strengths and flaws. This pretty much confirms all suspicion of backdoor money dealing with the publisher or developer. Shame.
- HappyScrappy, on 12/02/2007, -4/+2Have you actually played it? How do you know he's giving it a fair shake if you haven't?
- largobargo, on 12/02/2007, -0/+7This is no Daikatana.. that's for sure.
- eburetto, on 12/02/2007, -0/+7With all this notoriety he should just start his own blog, I'm sure he can pull in some of his own advertising especially from Eidos competitors.
- tektalk, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1Yeah, and then he'll become biased due to pressures from the advertisers, which in the end, he won't be much different than some other gaming review sites.
- Xanthan, on 12/02/2007, -0/+5Having the dishonesty of Gamespot heads shown so blatantly is sickening. Gamespot was a place I trusted to get reviews on games I was considering purchasing. Now I find out if you grease Gamespot's palms with enough cash you can buy a good review, or atleast not have as bad a bad review in this case. I guess the only saving point for Gamespot is I can still see the user rating beside the Gamespot rating, that is ofcourse unless Gamespot is deleting the worst rating posts. Sigh, who monitors these sites?
- CNSecrest, on 06/02/2008, -14/+1Jeff is an ugly character that is impossible to like.
- Easyoffbam, on 12/02/2007, -4/+1Your moms an ugly character thats impossible to like!
- redthirteen, on 12/02/2007, -2/+10Be Honest = Get Fired. Good review with bad game = Happy customer with bad game. When did America Company run by communist rules?? I support Jeff.
- flux1, on 12/02/2007, -0/+4The review seemed fitting for the game from the videos. The guy deserves credit for saying how he feels about games instead of pushing out high numbers just because companies or fanboys demand it. (The 8.8 burned into so many people's minds that are cheering him being fired says hi.)
- saintgasoline, on 12/02/2007, -6/+5This is just a video game. What's truly sickening is that this is the way politics works, as well, with lobbyists and special interest groups essentially calling the shots as they largely foot the bills for raising money for politicians, creating conflicts of interest like this, as well as ***** like Halliburton's involvement in Iraq.
Of course, real politicians like Mike Gravel are exempt, and yet he gets pulled from debates because he doesn't have enough money raised. And all because he won't be a shill for a corporation.- 01l0, on 12/02/2007, -3/+1Kucinich and Edwards don't take corporate money, and they are both doing all right in fundraising. Gravel didn't raise anything because he was always more of a rabble-rouser than a serious candidate. He may have misread how far the country has swung to the left, we haven't felt the real effects of Bush's ***** yet, maybe in 2012 when our currency collapses and Russia and China are duking it out over Iraq's oil, people will finally see that Gravel 's been right all along.
- meed, on 12/02/2007, -2/+4That was a honest game review if I have ever heard one. Gamespot has now lost all there credibility.
- tektalk, on 12/02/2007, -1/+3"their"
- Funpolice2050, on 12/02/2007, -0/+3Look at the user reviews for Kane and Lynch on gamespot. They have disabled them because they are so bad... hahaha...
- smoger, on 12/02/2007, -0/+4unsubbed from both Gamespot podcasts
- schizogony, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1Jeff *IS* the HotSpot.
- shawn47, on 12/02/2007, -0/+2They didn't have to fire him for doing his job..
- TwoXist, on 12/02/2007, -1/+4Its a very fair review of the game. I just wish i had seen it before i bought the game.
- Progression, on 12/02/2007, -1/+8A bit off topic, but I don't like Gamespot's new rating system either. They replaced all of the numerical breakdowns of the score with funny little emoticons. C'mon, I'm not ***** 10 years old.
- thiviari, on 12/02/2007, -1/+1the gaming industry hasn't really figured out that gamers aren't all 14 year old boys.
- gypsi, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1a lot of sites stick to the 6-10 range anyway, where 6/10 might as well be a 1/10.
- AmICoolNow, on 12/02/2007, -3/+1I think there would've been less of a reaction if he didn't open the review with "this game is ugly and unlikeable in every way". Either way, it seems like a fair review and he shouldn't have gotten fired.
- gypsi, on 12/02/2007, -0/+0agree. there are movies that can be described as ugly (the way he's using the word) that end up being classics. this reviewer is giving his audience a little credit that they will listen to what he has to say and not knee-jerk at the word ugly. sadly, the advertisers have 3rd grade attention/comprehension skills
- glitchbit, on 12/02/2007, -1/+12This just in 98% of all games priced at $50-60+ are not worth buying.
And they wonder why people pirate. If they'd go back to $40 I'd buy more games.- ZenMojo, on 12/02/2007, -1/+4Or you can just NOT buy the game or steal it. I don't go to McDonald's, hop in the back, and demand a Big Mac because their food's bad for me. Granted, information is infinite, but profits aren't.
- Elektriq, on 12/02/2007, -0/+2But that Big Mac would cost McDonald's money, a pirated version of something won't cost the company anything (it doesn't matter if the person would or wouldn't have bought it if he couldn't pirate it).
- wolfofwar, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1except if everybody began to pirate, nobody would buy it, and all the money put into making it doesn't get repaid.
It's not a victimless crime, however you try to swing your false logic, it still costs the people who made it money.
- wolfofwar, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1except if everybody began to pirate, nobody would buy it, and all the money put into making it doesn't get repaid.

- nyrfan444, on 12/02/2007, -1/+0You guys are all morons. You know what would happen if everyone stole games or they cost $40? They'd stop getting made. Quit your wining and pony up, $60 isn't that bad
- sixdust, on 12/02/2007, -0/+2Why should I spend my hard earned $60, if the game is not worth it?
- cablecanuck, on 12/03/2007, -0/+1don't pirate it then why are you entitled to own it if you don't want to buy it
- sixdust, on 12/02/2007, -0/+2Why should I spend my hard earned $60, if the game is not worth it?

- bejayel, on 12/02/2007, -4/+9Heres an idea. Why dont we all just start an ad supported website that produces honest reviews about game and hire people like this guy back on? No unhappy customers and no unfair reviews. Sounds good to me. I was going to rent this game, but based on everything thus far, i dont think its even worthy of that. Maybe i can get my room mate to download it. That might be wasting throughput i guess.
