Even if it turns out to be a bland RPG/love simulation fusion, it might be better than the stuff that's currently available. I want to see something better than low-budget, no-name, by-the-numbers porn games. Something more distinctive than Sims clones. Something which doesn't require purchasing out-of-print games from Yahoo Auction Japan in order to use fan translation patches (Tsukihime, Gadget Trial, and Wind -a breath of heart-). And even though I'm not sure if there will ever be English editions, I'd like to see something like For Symphony, or the Harukanaru series, or the Sakura Taisen games, or...
Sadly, there are a lot of game fans who say things such as "ZOMG! it is all dirty lol" and then go back to alien-zapping games. I know... I was like that once. I'm a dork. Also, the "another gem" video is a lot like the one in English, but obviously longer and more detailed. The wide one down there you can enter text into. When you type something and hit enter, it adds a timestamp to your comment in accordance with where you are in the video.
So, say you are at the 2:15 mark and enter, "HOLY MOLEY IS THAT A NIPPLE?" then everybody else, when they get to the 2:15 mark will see scrolling across the screen, "HOLY MOLEY IS THAT A NIPPLE?"
It is both hilarious and quite ripe for abuse.
The system itself seems to only store the 100 most recent comments. When I visited earlier, the comments started with some Japanese people talking, followed by a huge surge of Digg and 4chan users. (I was unaware that these groups overlapped... creepy.) Thus, all of a sudden, various Digg comments and 4chan memes started flying and we had a group of Japanese people who were probably thinking, "What in the hells just happened?"
Still, I must admit, if Youtube had a feature like this, I would definitely be spending more time on Youtube. It is quite clever and could result in quite a bit of hilarity.
