- LR2_, on 10/12/2007, -4/+45From their site: "BBspot is a satirical news and comedy source and meant to be funny. If you are easily offended, gullible or don't have a sense of humor we suggest you go elsewhere."
Why are people so determined to submit an article that they do not do enough research on what they are submitting? - dankoleary, on 10/12/2007, -0/+29As an alternative to super-gluing and duct tape, Nintendo has begun offering gamers a shatterproof cage to stand in while they are playing games. The Wii Cage is available for $299.
- skellingtonjr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Dugg just for the Pope bubble/Nintendo Cage.
- honavery, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Yes, plus the wii doesn't come out in Japan till Saturday.
- majordannyboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14@neonic
You won't get chemical burns from super glue (cyanoacrylate), though it does get hot when applied to the skin. It was used during the Vietnam war to help close wounds and is still used in the operating room as sutures (2-octyl cyanoacrylate). - jacen6678, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13And look at the name of the kid they quoted...
"I like the Wii controller permanently on my hand. I never have to search for it, and the other kids think it is cool," said Yugi Tamagotchi of Tokyo. - NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Ugh... Why do people continue to think their own opinions of what should hit the digg front page elicit any concern from anyone else?
Why not digg satire? If it's worth a read, be it for real information or entertainment value, why shouldn't it be dugg? - NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I've never gotten chemical burns from superglue on my skin.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+15Can't jerk off with a Wiimote stuck to your hands, kids.
- dvddesign, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Then your arm becomes the ultimate Power Glove.
"Now You're Playing With Power!" - hipstershaun, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Super glue? Duct tape? A $299 Pope cage? I suppose a sane solution like a lightweight fingerless glove with Velcro on the palm, and a Velcro strip down the side of the remote is just not cool enough for kids these days.
Dugg for the believability of this fake news story. - f3l1x, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7tongue --> cheek
- redneckblues, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Meh, Nintendo's better than sex anyway. Oh, wait...
- mrchikken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Those Japanese kids have lost their grip."
Haha! - dvddesign, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Actually, the controller vibrates, so yes you can.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Not only that, but it'd be impossible to change the batteries when you've run through the whole 20hr battery life at 3 AM when you're in the middle of the fire temple boss in Zelda and none of your housemates have any batteries so you're forced to find the nearest open store because you didn't think to save right before the boss.
Last night was rough. - DreadPirateWes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah it should be there. Maybe the submitter thought it was real ;)
- DreadPirateWes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2And yet you felt the need to click on the article when it clearly states "(via www.bbspot.com)".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_%28Internet%29 - DreadPirateWes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2OR they could put all of the controls on a glove that you wear...oh wait.
- Kent767, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You can burn yourself with CA glue.. if you apply kicker spray before it cures.... It can get very hot but cools quickly. (I found this out hte hard way while repairing my RC plane.)
- PaulOwen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4@hbweb500
Read after me.
"There is no such Japanese name as Tamagotchi"
You dolt. - ecksdeE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yugi Tamigotch of Tokyo? Ahahaha. A Wii Cage? AhAHHAH.
Oh man, this article is entertainment at its finest. Props to the author, love the satire. - NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@Moopy
...Hence why I said I've never gotten chemical burns from super glue on my skin. Read the buried comment above mine. - adolfojp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"amen! a poor man's onion at best."
Except for the fact that
1. The Onion never fools anyone
2. BBspot is dedicated to technology
3. BBspot is actually funny half of the time - tarmithius, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4The funny thing is that before I noticed it was from BB I thought it might be real. I lived in Japan for 4 years and am married to one (not that anyone here cares) and they do really odd stuff all the time (like High School girls gluing their socks to their legs) so this would have been credible.
- toshipaine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well at least he won't be playing with his other Wii.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is a fake article. The damn kid is named after a toy.
- spacegurl65, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You know you're Nintendo's slave when you're playing in a CAGE.
- Moopy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Or maybe people not swinging the remotes around wildly when they know they can't control it while not wearing a wristband. Although the breaking wristbands are also a problem, maybe they should make a jet propulsion system to reduce any impacts when it goes flying...
- DreadPirateWes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You guys are both morons. BBSpot is a satire website. You'll probably make it to the BBelievers section next week ;)
- hbweb500, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4@PaulOwen
"Strange, because there's no such Japanese family name as "Tamagotchi". However ..."
In Japanese, the family name comes before what we call the "first name". His family name is Yugi.
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2271.html - r00ts, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I believe the phrase "don't knock it 'till you've tried it" comes without saying.
- SmokeChiba, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Some doctors have said that Wii fanatics have approached them about surgically implanting the Wii controller on their hands, but said while "technically feasible, would be ethically murky."
"Most concede, though, that it's only a matter of time before this happens."
Say what?! - squash1978, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What a ridiculously stupid story...
- Moopy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@NSMike:
You don't get chemical burns from superglue (cyanoacrelate). What happens is, super glue instantly bonds to water molecules, including those on your hand. A chemical burn would simply be anything that reduces (binds with and takes electrons) molecules of your body and/or cause enough heat to cause other reactions. - kassaralzabadi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Exactly! Launch date in Japan is Dec 02!
- jfujita, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Wii is not even out in Japan yet. This is stupid.
- ultrasonoro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0What we need is Wii surgical implants, direct into your hands. Hmm... only problem is replacing the battery. Maybe you could use some sort of electrical induction to recharge it.
- thiagoleon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yeah PaulOwen,
I would also talk about the strange name and the fact that the wii haven't launched yet in Japan... but the rest of the story is so ridiculous that I don't even need to say that it's fake. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3/// This isn't fark
//// Moran. - bothra, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3good lord I hate bbspot
- Manguskahn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Cool! Now I can throw my controller at my brother without actually meaning to! It's freaking fool-proof! I get my laugh and no blame to follow!
- polarbeast, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0amen! a poor man's onion at best.
- scratched, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2What happens when they want to play an NES game on the VC?
- Mrstupid7, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1The one about the PS3 copying the 360's launch is sadly hilarious.
- mandarin, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3Velcro straps might be better. Or something like those bowling wristbands.
- Ub3rg33k, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3n/m digg down
- saladtossser, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2how about a wii closet with a tough tv lol
you guys know how ps2 has this webcam thingy that you can control a game with? be cool if wii used that BUT you do hand gestures as buttons - mattacheck, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Spotlite: I hear you can also get porn on the internet. Also, they have this new thing called a search engine you might want to check out too. Wikipedia "Ric Romero" when you get a chance.
