- UNL1M1T3D, on 10/12/2007, -4/+345Everybody knows guns don't kill people, kids who play violent video games kill people.
"Mr. Gates, pull the plug on Counterstrike today, or do we need more dead to convince you? "
Yes, because Bill Gates has control over Valve. - WarpFox, on 10/12/2007, -2/+225Counterstrike was the best selling video game in history. You have equalliy solid evidence that nitrogen was to blame.
THIS JUST IN, it is reported that the shooter liked to breathe AIR- and did so on almost a daily basis. COINCDENCE?? We report, YOU DECIDE! - guitarh3ro, on 10/12/2007, -4/+219I'm beginning to question if it's physically possible to hate Jack Thompson even more than I already do.
Games will not make a person kill people, emotions will. Cho obviously had some issues going on in his life, and he just snapped. Games *might* make someone temporarily upset, especially if they are stuck at a certain point in a game and can't get past it, but that's the worst it gets.
It's sickening that Jack is taking advantage of this sitution the way he is, trying to gain as much attention as he can. - edilclyde, on 10/12/2007, -0/+185maybe i should write Alexey Pajitnov a letter saying that his tetris game is why I keep throwing polygons on the floor....
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+172Last I checked, Microsoft didn't publish Counter-Strike.
- TroubleInMind, on 10/12/2007, -1/+150This just in: Jack Thompson sues the makers of water. Says Thompson, "Every murderer in the last twenty years is a water drinker, there is a one hundred percent correlation."
- Sneakernets, on 10/12/2007, -0/+131Bill Gates is responsible for:
Columbine : Doom ran on DOS with a 4GW extender, which would run best on MS-DOS.
Foley Scandal, since the chatlogs were saved using a Windows OS,
Rove scandal, because I bet you anything they used Outlook,
Traffic accidents, because Bill Gates rolled that stop sign once back in high school.
See? I can make baseless accusations too! - bfaulk04, on 10/12/2007, -2/+122In what twisted dimension is Counter-Strike published by Microsoft?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+96Wait until he finds out Counter-Strike was developed by an asian male years ago. His head will pop off.
- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+98"Someone should totally make a web game where the object is to beat the crap out of this guy."
Yeah, that wouldn't add any fuel to the fire. Oh, and Jack *definitely* wouldn't sue. - Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+93Jack should sue schools, because a lot of these horrible shootings have taken place in schools.
Clearly schools are to blame. - Mousedrt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+91A Mayor??
- fpssledge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+81Next up is Jack Thompson sending letters to ATI and Nvidia for creating realistic looking graphics for violent video games?
- SiRwhilms, on 10/12/2007, -5/+86The inaccuracy here is just confounding: Counter-Strike has NOTHING to do with Microsoft at all. It was originally made as a mod for Half-Life by VALVe Software, which later acquired the mod, released a retail version, and later ported it to their Source Engine to make Counter-Strike: Source.
The only thing that brings it remotely close to Microsoft is the fact that Gabe Newell (co-founder of VALVe) worked at Microsoft for many years prior to founding the company. - Arramol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+80If we can blame CS for training killers, can drivers ed students get credit for playing Need for Speed?
- Eivo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+57Hopefully Mr. Gates will use his legal might and sue this turd for harassment or slander or something. If Gates puts this guy out of commission I would buy an Xbox 360. An Elite one at that. Go Gates, Go!
- ZennZero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+57"Is this a great Internet, or what?"
My greatest fear is that JT joins forces with Sen Ted Stevens. Their cumulative lack of understanding of the modern world would likely impact the space-time continuum with such force that a Black Hole of Stupid would form and consume the earth. - Braingoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+54Also sends similar letter to Santa telling him he is to blame global warming for not bringing him his red choo choo when he was 5.
- DanteDefiance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+53Did someone shove a Nintendo cartridge up his ass when he was a kid? What's his ***** deal anyway? Get a ***** real job already.
- hlynch1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+47i run around with a knife, it makes me run faster
- chucksmooth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+47depends if you used to ruin your cities with natural disasters just to watch it crumble. we'll then have to place you on potential genocide watch
- civperc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+44CHO DID THE SHOOTINGS AND IT'S HIS FAULT, NO-ONE ELSE'S!! F you Thompson!!!!!
- ConfusedONE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+42I am guessing it is the XBOX version. Still, doesn't justify Jacky-boy's bitchery.
- LordSkippy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+39That's "murder simulators", in Thompsonese.
- NeoCortex, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38That ridiculous. Everybody knows that global warming is a result of the decline in pirate activity in the world.
- rstarr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+33Millions of XBL customers fragging 24/7, not to mention millions more on PC and PS.
Maybe 5 killers even remotely linked to a video gaming past ever.
I would say the odds are not in his favor. - DarkDragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32It was Pong: San Andres

>.> - englishganxta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+32A terrorist, they used the program to build a western city and find different ways to destroy it.
- chucksmooth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+32@jcsaint
wouldn't that be exactly what this guy wants?.. it would be more ammunition to be a douche bag - tlarkin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31What were all those video games Ganghis Kahn played? What were the games that Hitler distributed to the nazis to make them kill everyone? What video games did Charles manson play again? I mean I know that video games are like the root and cause of all violence, but I can't seem to remember what games these people played?
Anyone? - fourcylthrill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27So can we also blame 9/11 on Microsoft too? Obviously Microsoft Flight Simulator is to blame for the attacks.
- liah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27The best part about it was he didn't play any videogames.
- NanoStuff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27Flight Simulator killed my dog and raped my sister.
- alarion, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27I was thinking VT was to blame. Cause I mean, the kid went to VT. But then I thought, maybe McDonald's was responsible, because reportedly the kid ate fast food at one point in his life. The I thought about the clothing manufacturers! I mean, he always wore a hat right?! That *must* be the reason for this violence.
How about we blame this on Christianity? I mean hell, the shooter, in his own writings, blames them (along with many other things). But that would mean Jack Thompson partakes of one of the supposed root causes of this tragedy.
This is guy is a such an idiot. - Gareshra, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27Guess he got AWPed one too many times.
- LordSkippy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24"I don't see how he can blame Microsoft?"
Jack Thompson uses his super powers to blame Microsoft. The particular super power in question is "complete lack of logic and reason." - Wilddigi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Bill Gates will kick his ass.
- knodi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23-_-
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25@matt174e: "Video Games don't kill people. Guns kill people."
Really? Guns just walk around on their own, randomly shooting people?
Get down off the high horse. Neither video games nor guns kill people. _People_ kill people. - leftfoot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22He didn't have any games in his possession at all. Jack Thompson is still a whiney little bitch who wants everything his way, and he can't.
The best way to get rid of Jack Thompson, is to ignore Jack Thompson. - fivestarsoul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20MS PAINT IS A GRAFFITI ENCOURAGING TERRORIST TOOL
- TIEpilot501, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Is this "gamealmighty.com" a reliable source?
- aerogant, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20It was for the XBox, but Microsoft published it in Nov 2003 time frame, Cho Seung would have been 19 years old (2 months from 20), and he graduated in 2003 which was more likely before summer 2003. So if he was playing the game in high school, it was not the xbox version that microsoft published, so I don't see how he can blame Microsoft?

- skunkit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Only in Jack Thompson's big adventure!
- iKurisu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17valve produced counterstrike... Jack Thompson is a ***** retard
- CheezeMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17oh jack, is there anything you won't blame?
(besides actual contributing factors?) - themonkman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16I'm getting royally tired and pissed off that people must always blame something else for their problems. Cho was crazy. Counterstrike didn't make him crazy. Hell, it didn't even teach him how to really use a gun either.
This world won't get any better until we can accept that regardless of outside influences of any sort, the person most responsible for their actions is themselves. Cho made a conscience decision to buy a Glock and kill 30 people. No one made him do it. He wasn't hypnotized to do it. I've played a lot of violent games in my life and as a kid. A LOT. I've seen a lot of movies that I certainly should've not seen, yet I have no propensity or want at all to go gunning down people. I sometimes still have that childish desire to egg a house, though. The chickens made me do it! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17I used to play SimCity fanatically. What does that make me?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16DIPSHIP LOL!!
