- SteelFrog, on 11/20/2008, -0/+109Ugh. I wish doctors and quacks would stop treating everything as an addiction or an illness.
"Doctor, my kid is always playing video games."
"He's obvious addicted. Give him these."
Or
"Doctor, my kid won't stop running around and won't listen to me."
"Give him these pills."
It's called discipline. I lack it, but I don't blame others or some stupid addiction/illness.
/nerdrage - Cerialthriller, on 11/20/2008, -2/+72what a ***** quitter
- wizardcombat, on 11/20/2008, -0/+62Parents diagnosed with "Bad Parenting".

- superterrorizer, on 11/20/2008, -0/+37Playstation is a hell of a drug.
- inactive, on 11/20/2008, -0/+28The "article" has less words than a milk container.
- GeeksSpeakFont, on 11/20/2008, -3/+28i was diagnosed years ago!
- kelpee, on 11/20/2008, -0/+24As a gamer and a mother this topic always pisses me off. It's like all other addictions that children are labeled with. Get a grip people. Control your children.

No matter what they say, Self control would never be enough!!.....LOL, OK, enough with the drama. - ksalminen, on 11/20/2008, -0/+17Wow, this "article" is like a paragraph long.

- leerayIG88, on 11/20/2008, -1/+18omg I masturbate too much when I watch tranny porn!!! Does that mean im addicted?!
/s - Phil13, on 11/20/2008, -0/+14andydumi hit the nail on the head. Stuff is seriously over diagnosed by doctors wanting to make money (or don't want to tell parents to do their job) and parents who are too lazy and/or don't care enough to do their job.
- Phil13, on 11/20/2008, -0/+13It's not nerdrage but a very valid point. It's such a sad state of affairs how everything is a condition or an illness and gets treated with pills and therapy.
You can't even look at your kid wrong anymore without being labeled an abusive parent either.
Kids need discipline, period. Anyone who argues otherwise has something wrong in their delusional head. - rsHoratio, on 11/20/2008, -0/+12What movies do you have?
- andydumi, on 11/20/2008, -0/+12No, he is just pointing out the over diagnosis of ADHD and over prescription of drugs.
- garbageday, on 11/20/2008, -1/+12Then, when he is ready to pick up the pieces of his life he can move onto Rehab Hero
- frazw, on 11/20/2008, -2/+13Nah all he needs is a little heroin hero
- Zuke, on 11/20/2008, -0/+10What a weakling. And he calls himself a "gamer"?
- andyb747, on 11/20/2008, -0/+10I predict a rollercoaster life of substance abuse for this little *****
- balliamo, on 11/21/2008, -0/+9tell your dad to throw away your penis
- obers1sr, on 11/20/2008, -0/+8"After leaving the hospital, the boy told his father to throw away the PlayStation for fear of further complications."
Really kid? - Snoosy, on 11/20/2008, -0/+8Good job on copying the first comment on the site and pasting it here.
- KevekKerinth, on 11/20/2008, -0/+8where's the article?
- Surferess, on 11/20/2008, -2/+9Me too, there was a certificate that came in the box w/ the thing. It is on my wall, man! lol
- Fleagleman, on 11/21/2008, -0/+7Italian kid? Playstation addiction? Looks like Mario slipped one past the goalie.
- crushfan, on 11/21/2008, -0/+7NERDMOMRAGE!
- aptanalogy, on 11/20/2008, -0/+6I believe "alcohol" is the recommended treatment for that...
- silophysis, on 11/20/2008, -1/+7this makes me think of this one guy in South Korea who dropped dead a few years ago while playing starcraft for 50 hours
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4137782.stm - cygnus2112, on 11/20/2008, -0/+6Or Dr. Pepper.
- TriNiiTy, on 07/12/2009, -0/+6what, that's an addiction? I call it life and I would sooner throw myself away than my PS3. Try to take it away and I'll tear you to pieces and throw YOU away.
- TheWhiteMice, on 11/20/2008, -0/+6Amy Winehouse edition
- inactive, on 11/20/2008, -2/+7Not nearly as bad as Wii addiction. It's deadly.
- rsHoratio, on 11/20/2008, -1/+6tell that to my trackmarks
- PleaseJustDie, on 11/20/2008, -0/+5Mega Man 9 is more accurately a Capcom game, available from Xbox Marketplace for the 360 and from the PlayStation Network for the PS3 as well.
- lilhelper, on 11/20/2008, -0/+5That lil'guy took one for the team.
Doing what he/we love got the best of him. - inactive, on 11/20/2008, -0/+5The problem is that people are nicer to them when they're really young, and they get into schools, where they're taught that for some reason they're special, before their parents can ever discipline them.
- babaoriley06, on 11/20/2008, -0/+5I'd like to meet the doctor who gave up diagnosis and decided that he'd just settle on "playstation addiction!"
- MisteR2, on 11/20/2008, -0/+5I'm laughing at this on the inside.
/wearing a Nintendo Rehab Clinic T-shirt on the outside... - oblique63, on 11/21/2008, -0/+5I think the poster is trying to prevent digg from fueling our article addiction...
- Dabek, on 11/21/2008, -0/+4I'm 15, never been grounded, and even I agree with that. I was just raised by good parents who taught me to make right decisions at a young age. I remember years ago, when I was younger, I used to wander through a Wal-Mart, happen to see a great toy that looks cool, and I beg my mom for it. She refused it, and I would cry. But a few years later, same thing would happen, and I would understand, I can't have everything I want, otherwise, I'd be a spoiled brat. As a result, I look at stories like this (and girls at my school who are always getting new stuff and say "My parents got it for me!") and am disgusted by the fact that no one looks at the parents to blame.
- lostsymphonies1, on 11/21/2008, -0/+4Buried. The description you gave for the article was 90% of the "article" itself.
- FFXIfrohike, on 11/21/2008, -0/+4sauce plz
- keatonkeaton998, on 11/20/2008, -1/+51) Retarded article. 2) Within the text of the article linked here, is a link to the exact same story on a different website, that they almost ripped off word for word.
- emjaymj, on 11/21/2008, -0/+3I don't want a boss who says "your" when he means "you're."
***** you, I'm finding a different employer. - FFXIfrohike, on 11/21/2008, -0/+3The basis of some addictions are poor choices, fueled by poor discipline. It doesn't mean they're any less of an addiction... But yeah, this case could be cured by a healthy dose of GTFO-and-play.
- Stevethegreat, on 11/20/2008, -0/+3Ever since I was a kid I was book-addicted, I read too many books, I should throw away the stuff..... apparently
(i.e. way TOO many things are named to be addiction these days, it seems like self-control died along with the entrance of pop psychology to the mainstream) - Farmer77, on 11/20/2008, -0/+3He was trying to get past the 3rd elephant on Concrete Man's stage.
- emjaymj, on 11/21/2008, -0/+3Yep, I understand you completely. I'm a bit older now but I was in a similar boat. I always figured Internet socialization was at least somewhat the same thing but the reality is that it's a totally different thing. How you act and feel on the Internet and in real life are two very different things - just look at the e-thugs.
And I really understand about the writing too :) But it's easy to be stuck just living inside your head.
Don't get me wrong though, I wasn't condoning drug use in the least in the post above. But the worst thing you can do for yourself as a teen (an adult too, but especially a teen) is to shy away from new experiences. - norbiu, on 11/21/2008, -0/+3You never go all out!
