- palehorse864, on 06/16/2008, -0/+120For a bunch of ninjas, they certainly are making a lot of noise with their exit.
- Torx, on 06/16/2008, -1/+40Ninjas gotta get paid too.
- conkers209, on 06/16/2008, -0/+23Well Tecmo is really screwed now.
- korvan504521, on 06/15/2008, -6/+23Hopefully most of them will stick together, they've produced some great games.
- untitlednet, on 06/16/2008, -0/+13They should set themselves on fire and work for Bungie.
- johnnliu, on 06/16/2008, -0/+13I'm assuming MGS is Microsoft Game Studios here
Not sure what the PS3 reference came from.
MGS definitely has the money to support good studios on new games, and the advertising to do it right. If they manage a few successful games games with MGS they can buy themselves back out too. - thegreengrunt, on 06/16/2008, -9/+21Itagaki HATES the PS3 so I doubt he would ever dream of working for a PS3 developer. No he will most likely be looked after by Microsoft and Microsoft will set up a studio for them in Japan.

he states it specifically. He loves developing for 360, wii offers a lot of innovation and that the ps3 development environment is just too complex. Never does he state his hatred for the system, sony or it's followers.
people who say itagaki hates ps3 are the same morons who believe kojima was disgusted with how MGS4 turned out. - crazyjake, on 06/16/2008, -1/+11really?? that's all you had to say?
please refrain next time! - JamesMorris, on 06/16/2008, -0/+10Team Ninja? Dugg.
- TimDigg, on 06/16/2008, -0/+9Image...
- logicalnoise, on 06/16/2008, -0/+9well if you remeber "NINJA VANISH!" wasn't all too stealthy but iin reality we still don't know where they are and we have no clue where they are going.
- Zanarkand, on 06/16/2008, -2/+10Is he taking the fish bowl with him too?
- acidbathfan, on 06/16/2008, -1/+8Maybe they will stick together and start a new company or something like what McFarlane did in the comic book world when he left Marvel to start Imagine back in the 90's
- Cybercomet, on 06/16/2008, -1/+7While I really enjoy Ninja Gaiden, II I can't help but feel the first one was ten times better. From a game breaking glitch in chapter 10, to a boss that half the time gets stuck on walls, this game really needed a few more months in development. With MGS4's release just a week after NGII's, I can't help but feel this game was rushed out as quick as possible to (at least try to) steal some of MGS4's hype.
Anyway, hopefully Itagaki and co. can find work somewhere, or start their own independent company. The man's got talent. - Haax, on 06/16/2008, -1/+7Really?! Then why do we care so much about him? NES Ninja Gaiden > newer ones. You guys need to get off his ninja nuts and play the real games :)
- sleepwalkers, on 06/16/2008, -0/+5Microsoft Game Studios... Not Metal Gear Solid.
I dunno why Solid Snake would need game developers... - DavidGX, on 06/16/2008, -2/+7Buy Ninja Gaiden 2 USED. Tecmo ***** Itagaki? Then ***** Tecmo!
- DavidGX, on 06/16/2008, -7/+11No.. he hates the PS3.
- inactive, on 06/16/2008, -1/+5they would've had their money if they really wanted it, and nobody would find out
- smek2, on 06/16/2008, -0/+4Huh? "Three dozen or more" means 36+ people. That's solid math.
- humbled, on 06/16/2008, -0/+4Itagaki didn't have anything to do with the NES Ninja Gaiden games. (at least as far as I can tell)
- smek2, on 06/16/2008, -0/+3I like that. It's time to show those faceless corporations that it's about the people who make the games and not just about a brand. If only that would happen to EA...
- dudefaceguyman, on 06/16/2008, -2/+5I'm really enjoying Ninja Gaiden II. It's a great game and I hope they stick together to rekindle the magic they had in Team Ninja for some new franchises.
I'm on chapter 8 right now by the way. Hard but fun..and I enjoy ripping enemies to shreds down to their bloody torsos quite a bit.... - Vash3001, on 06/17/2008, -0/+2Confirmed "Ninja Riaden" and "Undead or Alive" in 2009
- logicalnoise, on 06/16/2008, -8/+10he has never said that he hates the PS3. He has stated that he prefers the xbox 360 development kits but has always left he door open to making games on ps3. AT most he's said teh ps3 devlopment kits weren't as advanced in his opinion.
- MrDo, on 06/16/2008, -2/+4Team Ninja: The search bigger boobs.
Coming soon to a console near you. - Traiklin, on 06/17/2008, -0/+2Just kidnap the president and demand a ransom, Just watch out for Bad Dudes coming around.
- maiku00, on 06/16/2008, -0/+2the new president of temco is getting ***** owned
hes getting exactly what he deserves for being a gigantic douchebag
he probably isnt feeling so smart anymore - s0nicfreak, on 06/16/2008, -0/+2We care because of the dead or alive boobs.
- smek2, on 06/16/2008, -0/+2If i would get angry every time i found a terrible sentence on the internet...
- theaceoffire, on 06/16/2008, -0/+2I are be the doing of agreement.
- methos75, on 06/16/2008, -0/+2At first this seem like Itagaki just being a jerkoff, but with everyone pretty much leaving with him, it looks like they have some legit issues with Tecmo. Regardless, looks like MS just might be gtting a new Japanese 1st party soon.
- Dracusis, on 06/17/2008, -0/+1Think of all the baby ninja mouths they need to feed. :(
- Azerael, on 06/16/2008, -7/+8Here's hoping MGS picks these guys up.
- mxmj, on 06/16/2008, -0/+1The 'as many' is the part he is taking issue with. Its basically just a terrible sentence.
- sleepwalkers, on 06/16/2008, -0/+1You could not buy Ninja Gaiden II, as well.
- DavidGX, on 06/17/2008, -0/+1Why? Buying it used gets you the game, but Tecmo makes no money from the transaction. Best of both worlds.
- inactive, on 06/16/2008, -1/+1well you know with the whole goty thing this week and all...
- acidbathfan, on 06/16/2008, -1/+1Yeah Image; my mistake I was having a senior moment :)
- hermes369, on 06/16/2008, -1/+1Some might argue Journey was never the same when Steve Perry joined.
- anonymousT, on 06/16/2008, -1/+1team ninja? more like team bouncing-boobies-physics, amirite?
- VGLegends, on 06/16/2008, -1/+1They should go to Platinum Games(new Clover Studios)and make the new company even better than it is.
- exnoctem, on 06/16/2008, -0/+0I cant say I'm the biggest fan of his work, but you cant knock that the guy has the stuff and gets results.
Its a shame Tecmo Didn't give him what he is due. - caliman87, on 06/19/2008, -0/+0May they go on and start something better.
- djm19, on 06/16/2008, -0/+0Truer words were never spoken.
- sleepwalkers, on 06/16/2008, -3/+2While it's a shame that Itigaki has to part with Tecmo on such terms, I almost wish that most Team Ninja members would stay at Tecmo and see what they could do.
As much as I love Ninja Gaiden, I feel like the series would really benefit from someone coming at it from a new angle. Someone with a fresh perspective, y'know? - luke16, on 06/16/2008, -5/+2I hope the bring out another Dead or Alive. One of the best fighting game series imo.
- ociris, on 06/16/2008, -5/+1I love Ninja Gaiden 2. Im on my second playthrough right now. Gotta love how cool you look on your second playthrough after seeing your super honed skills from 14 chapters of gruesome combat. One of the greatest action games i ever played. I hope MS picks them up and they get the license for Bleach and Naruto with Mature rating...
PS. MGS4 is pretty cool. Still in act 1 though, usually play half an hour to an hour or two of NG2 during the weekday, and MGS4 on the weekends. -
