What Nintendo really should do is do a firmware upgrade allowing HCSD cards (and use SD cards as their storage solution) but since that's not happening I have a 2GB card waiting to be used to download songs with GHWT comes out.

Not everyone's exposed to the same forms of media as you and maybe myself are. 30% of this country does or HAS smoked in the past, so that means nothing either. Bongs point more towards Marley than Hendrix as well. I live in Houston, 4th largest city in the U.S., and he's heard on one station in this city, 93.7 the arrow (classic rock). He doesn't get jack for airtime like he used to. Not to mention the countless other countries in this world that will have access to this game and hear what Hendrix is really about. You think 12-year-olds have the same access in france to Hendrix music that we do without a medium such as video games? Think about guitar hero 3 and all the extra songs that were on there from different countries, spanish bands, french, german bands, completely unknown until that game came out. Yes, he's dead, but so is Elvis, Tupac, and Johnny Cash, and they're makin just as much now dead as they were living, albeit MAYBE Tupac now. Exposure is exposure, don't double standard this forum like you've never *****-ed somebody over for a profit or done something selfish to advance yourself to someone else's expense. I doubt they only play him on ONE station in Houston, we have over 3 stations in our medium size city that he has songs on. He is played just as much now as ever, not to mention they are using songs from his entire catalog vs. what single was out at the time.

        He is only one of the TOP GUITARISTS OF ALL TIME. You think he is going to fade away?

        If you think that 12 year olds know ***** about ANY music, you are mistaken. They will have to find out about Hendrix like everyone else has for the last 40 years.

        I also don't give a ***** if they listen to it or not, I like it, my friends like it, my kids will hear it through me...if some 12 year old kid in france doesn't get exposed to it, ***** him.

I may actually get the Activision product if they have good songs. I love Harmonix and their employees but I don't have much love lost for either Activision or MTV/EA.

Then they defend Guitar Hero 3 on the Wii... when its sound WAS IN ***** MONO when it was first released. Get your ***** heads out of your asses.

    I own a Wii but at least I realize what it can and cannot do.

      Not because of the music, not because of graphics, not because of the sound, and not because of the rhythms.

      It is better because the GH3 guitar is SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER than the RB guitar.

      Both games have the same potential to be fun, but only one is. The guitar controller for RB is so abysmal that it sucks all fun out of playing. Sure, GH3 tracks might get hard wicked fast, and might not be as "musical" as the RB tracks, but at least when I strum the note, the game registers it.

      Nothing is more frustrating than poor controller design, and as such, Rock Band Wii fails miserably.

I had Guitar Hero 2 on 360 so I had that guitar. I received Rock Band (Just the game) as a Christmas gift. So I got the drum set separate and used my GH guitar. I wanted a 2nd guitar, so I bought the RB guitar when it finally sold separately. Motion Sensor didn't work. Returned it. Repeat that process 4 times. No lie. 4 times!!!! So I gave up and bought GH3 with the wireless guitar and use that.

        I love Rock Band (as much as I love Guitar Hero) but hate their controllers. I hope Rock Band 2 guitars work better.

        My angry rant was more about the ones who compare their version of of the game to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions and say they were ripped off.

    It can't hurt to add that this deal only hurts Rock band consumers because the estate LET Activision buy exclusivity. Blame his sister for taking over and his father for cutting Leon out completely.

  • turboblake, on 07/22/2008, -1/+2I have no issue with a few of his songs being in the game, what I have issue with is actually having Hendrix as a playable character in the game. There is no way in heaven or hell that Hendrix would have ever gone for something like that. If you read up a little bit about his posthumous commercial rights you'll see that his family was snuffed out and that a record label "owns" him and they have no issue using his image to sell video games or play guitar around the new Nissan Sinada. I think its sad to see Hendrix disrespected like this, that's all.

    ... oh and the only reason slash was in the last game is because he's washed up, broke as hell, and needs to pay for his alcohol and drug addictions.
