- ahnonamis, on 01/13/2008, -0/+2Anyone who thought the boycott would accomplish anything was fooling themselves. GameSpot got a lot of non game related coverage furthering their name recognition, and the number of people threatening to boycott is a tiny drop in their visitor bucket.
It SHOULD have accomplished something, given the situation. It just couldn't. - sadonomic, on 01/13/2008, -0/+1Thankfully it was something I could prove with just one stat. You would have to see traffic plummet for the "boycott" to have worked and it just didn't. Ultimately there's no reason to visit the site, just news none the less to all the people who actually thought it would work. Just another example of why boycotts don't work.
