- eridius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Title is extremely misleading. Nothing at all on that site about a man devoting his life to this.
- madhaha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13I'm torn. Blatant self promotion/spam vs 3D chess. No Digg, but no bury.
- FalseProphecy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I'm still trying to pronounce that website.
- orientis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Can someone give a brief explanation of how in the hell this is supposed to work? I read the instructions but I still have no clue.
- Fluidity, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7As if normal chess wasn't hard enough already!
- Goosey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I have to give it the dig for the 'Intense man' qualifier. That had me chuckling... Although I did expect the page to have him staring at me while snowboarding off an exploding helicopter into a lava pool filled with crocodiles...
Or would that be Xtreme? I guess intense would just have the staring part. - bergur1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I agree. All it talks about is an "AMAZING" Chess set...all it is is a tower comprised of 8 chess sets and they expect you to play with it.
- asteron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3First you must know about normal chess rules.
Then read the 3d-8L extention here
http://www.hixoxih.com/games/chess/3D8L.htm
This game is a simplification of 3d-8L
I understood it perfectly but think it looks ridiculous - izzykaubaubau, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I can think of several problems with that game, buried. Go waste your life with WoW like the rest of us.
- bobotheking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2White can force mate in six moves...
Yeah, right. Now just find out how. - kasted, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2what a waste of time, nerds like me or any diggers wouldn't even play this
- raindogmx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Click here for pricing and ordering information!
Whew that was intense. Good "article", inaccurate title because it is not about an intense man itself. - Zaggynl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Looking at that gives me a headache D:
- MSTK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Basically, it's like playing regular chess, only instead of using a grid, you're using a cube. So, say, a rook can move in a straight line side-to-side, forwards-and-backwards, and, now, up and down, too.
- coreydoucorey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good. But my mom told me such things don't worth my attention.
- sauved, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I dugg it because it was bizarre
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmm... didn't this come from the original Star Trek series... ok maybe they added some more levels but it certainly looks he expanded on the original game... but didnt make it look cool like this link below shows.
http://www.3dchessfederation.com/tridimensional_chess.htm - IgnatiousReilly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The link and title are from Clifford Pickover's site realitycarnival.com. It's a great site. Check it out.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you're not gonna make it.
- dadioflex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The concept is sound but the shape of the boards is off. I doubt you'd ever be able to effectively play unless the height of the "board" matched the width and length, ie it was a perfect cube. The $400 set you're looking at is like a tower even though it's an 8x8x8 grid for the pieces. Trying to play on it would be like tackling an optical illusion. WIth about 20 bucks of perspex off-cuts, 4 lengths of threaded bar and a handful of nuts you're going to have your board. You can probably buy a complete (2D) set of pieces for under five bucks or less. So, whatever, if this is your idea of fun make your own for next to nothing. But make it a cube...
- 022A, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's an ad.
I find it hard to imagine why anyone would bother to spend time learning the rules to this game much less playing it when you could play Go instead. - topicnation, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Amazing. Who's able to open the link?
- divatri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Not very clever post, but... But I'm not surpised.
- sofakinggosu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This has to be a game that he only plays with himself, "real live game with another person". I love Chess but this ridiculous.
- thep1mp, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1digg, but wtf is that ? i am strangely conflicted.
- Aalenox, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I agree with burying it. Boring, misleading topic, etc.
- androothebear, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i still dont get how to play it....
- verycool, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0if u want to know how to stop runners in Pogo.com Chess then go to http://www.shareware54.com/stop.asp
- deavyin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0That game is nuts and I'll digg any article equating chess with a rule set. If only there were some way to incorporate a roll of 20.
- Cloud7654, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I'm stuck on the same boat as orientis and androothebear. Too confusing for me. No digg, no bury.
- verycool, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0here is a cool way to stop runners on pogo chess. http://www.sharewareisland.com/stop.asp
