- cwolves, on 11/06/2007, -0/+10the fact that the character drawings are 400px high instead of 40.

- trigatch4, on 11/07/2007, -1/+10Eh...I'm more excited about Street Fighter 4 which is due out next year. The trailer looks pretty sick... http://www.streetfighter4.org

- smacksaw, on 11/07/2007, -0/+6This stuff always worries me because I never cared about the graphics as long as the controls, timing and gameplay are perfect. It could look like Final Fight or NES Double Dragon for all I care as long as it plays right. That's why I never liked Virtua Fighter or Tekken - it was too herky-jerky and not fluidic, especially the time characters spent on the ground with a short time limit. I always felt ripped off by that.

- Archcoder, on 11/06/2007, -0/+5HD means high definition; more pixels. If you compare the old Ryu sprite with the new hd one while maintaining its pixel aspect ratio, you could probably fit the old one inside the hd Ryu's foot. HD just means they're much bigger and more detailed so they don't appear to be blocky on modern television screens.

MORONS - habbofresh, on 11/07/2007, -0/+4you saw it too?!?!? ok then it's not just me.
- h3llscaper, on 11/06/2007, -2/+6I guess you've never heard of Street Fighter 3 or the recently announced Street Fighter 4. like, whoa.
- blofeld9999, on 11/06/2007, -0/+4Great article, I'm looking forward to this - and I'm glad that Capcom is showing us how much attention to detail they have.
- geekfrom99, on 11/07/2007, -0/+4... The Card Game
- corduroy, on 11/07/2007, -0/+4Unfortunately, I'd sooner be able to find a console port than finding an arcade.
- decker12, on 11/07/2007, -0/+3Holy cow, that's a ton of information about .01% of the total game, considering one tiny scrap of lag in online play will make all this nitpicking about the exact frame position of a 2D sprite completely irrelevant.
- mooninite, on 11/07/2007, -0/+3Last I heard this game was due out Fall 2007. We're currently *in* Fall 2007. Any new news on a release date?
- chuzbox, on 11/07/2007, -0/+3wordpress error? come on Capcom
- gootecks, on 11/07/2007, -0/+3They are redrawing the entire game, not just the backgrounds.
- h3llscaper, on 11/07/2007, -3/+6C'mon CrazedLeper, it's ok to google "Street Fighter 4". Don't be afraid; there are even teaser trailers.
- hollismb, on 11/07/2007, -0/+3I'm Super-Turbo-HD-Remix HYPED for this. Somehow, over the years, I managed to keep my SNES, but stupidly got rid of my copy of Super Street Fighter II, which I'm still sad about. So, this looks freakin' awesome. Not to mention that the last video I saw (probably on youtube or something) looks like it actually has wide-screen backgrounds, not 4:3 with side-bars, which really lives up to the 'HD' part. Awesome.
- Archcoder, on 11/06/2007, -0/+3Yeah, the title is pretty ridiculous. I had to double check it just to be sure.
- Schmapdi, on 11/07/2007, -0/+3Wow - all those little errors they mentioned - I never would have noticed them in a hundred years. Even circled and with explanations I had a hard time seeing what they were talking about. HD Street Fighter is a cool idea - but I think the whole thing kinda falls apart with them not adding any extra frames of animation. What's the point of super high quality characters with the same old crappy frame limit from 1993?
- bjs3171, on 11/06/2007, -1/+4actually...no.
- gootecks, on 11/06/2007, -0/+3High def refers to the amount of pixels shown on the screen, not where the images originated. Like cwolves said, the drawings are 400px high instead of 40 which means that they'll look great on your HDTV, whereas classic games like the Street Fighter II series will look pixellated and dated on your HDTV. The game is completely redrawn with a high enough resolution to look good on an HDTV, that's why it's called HD.
- bradym80, on 11/07/2007, -1/+4Hopefully they redraw all the sprites unlike Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix where they only redrew the backgrounds and antialiased all the sprites.
- bjs3171, on 11/07/2007, -0/+3weird, i always thought Tekken was more fluidic than Street Fighter, which I kind of thought as a knock hockey fighting game.
- bjs3171, on 11/06/2007, -0/+2hmm...the game seems to be some black text on a screen. lame.
- Gerz1219, on 11/07/2007, -0/+2Supposedly this is a frame-for-frame remake, so it will run at exactly the same speed as the original arcade game, and each move will be composed of exactly the same number of frames of animation.
The old Capcom games look like ***** blown up on a large HDTV, so why not keep the gameplay the same and upgrade the graphics? This game isn't exactly going to tax the Xbox 360 as far as processing power, so any concerns over lag should be negligible. And the purists will always have MAME (spikes in bandwidth are always going to cause some barely perceptible bottleneck in online play). I hope this is a success so we can see more of these. - doshindude, on 11/07/2007, -0/+2Part 2.
- MiltyKiss, on 11/07/2007, -0/+2ex plus Alpha.

- davidrools, on 11/07/2007, -0/+2Is there anything else (game or otherwise) with as many versions/editions as the Street Fighter series?
- NecroSexy, on 11/07/2007, -0/+2Marvel vs Capcom 3, do it.
- Ghoztt, on 11/07/2007, -0/+1Higher resolution, but the artists suck. Doesn't look like too much talent was put into those frames.
Sucks. I was hoping they would have used elite anime artists with a full range of shading. Not this, though! Looks like something I can draw :( - Heiliger, on 11/07/2007, -0/+1As many as I will buy... I am still counting.
- hollismb, on 11/07/2007, -0/+1You're not looking at the more 'finished' product, as that's just basic line drawing to get the shapes right. Here's a good example of a more finished frame: http://flickr.com/photos/54404223@N00/1617759407/i ...
- hollismb, on 11/07/2007, -0/+1They can't. Capcom doesn't have the license any more.
- cam18, on 11/07/2007, -0/+1Because those frame limits are an integral part of strategy in the game (timing hadokens using frames, when to throw, etc). Up the frame limit and you throw all of the gameplay elements from the original game out.
