- BugMeNot2, on 10/29/2007, -6/+151It's beyond Halo 3 and Gears of War, my friend.
- crgnetworks, on 10/12/2007, -10/+140You didn't just compare Crysis to HALO 3 and GoW did you? Crysis is in a league of it's own, son.
- catalysis, on 10/12/2007, -11/+81PC is always 1 gen ahead of consoles.
- doomguardian, on 10/12/2007, -1/+63Must watch people, the animations are Killzone 2 CGI quality.
- kamikazecow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+58The sdk tutorial looked *****. I have a feeling were going to see a ton of really good mods for this game
- FullVoltage, on 10/12/2007, -1/+57I think this game is next next-gen. I don't think it's meant to be released for another atleast another 3 years but thanks to Crytek, we'll have it in just a few months :-)
- sbull, on 10/12/2007, -3/+54http://206.51.225.116/(Crysis-Online)GDC2007SandboxDemo.wmv
I just hosted it on my dedicated server. Enjoy! - chris4404, on 10/12/2007, -1/+50This is way beyond the quality You Tube can handle.
- bobcrotch, on 10/12/2007, -8/+55Niko I'm sure if you bother your mom enough she will get you another new one.
- mlkmnz, on 10/12/2007, -4/+48@se1zure: its actually both. It would be suicide to bring out a DX10 only game at this point, so its going to be released to run on both DX9 and DX10 machines. DX10 will obviously run and look a lot better....
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+42When the original Doom came out, I thought, "Wow, a 3D world that actually feels 3-dimensional! Awesome!"
When the original Quake came out, I thought, "Wow, now even the enemies are 3D! Awesome!"
When Quake 3 and all games based on it came out, I thought, "Wow, they can finally put in real-world buildings and stuff in the game, and it looks pretty good! Awesome!"
When the first Crysis trailer was shown, I thought, "Wow, we've officially reached photo-realism! Awesome!"
I can't wait to see what happens next. - coheedcollapse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+39"CryEngine2 isn't just a graphics engine, but rather a complete game engine including physics, sound, artificial intelligence, network code, advanced animation system & you guessed it, plenty more. All this supports both 32-bit & 64-bit processing, DX8, DX9 & DX10 including Xbox360 & PS3, as well as multi-cpu and multi-gpu processing."
Nothing to do with any certain console/platform. We'll see it on both of the power oriented next-gen consoles.
I doubt it'll be able to hit that graphical quality though. - betterth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+38Hey, we're not insulting Halo, you don't need to be so defensive.
And us computer gamers have been there and done that.
We called it "Counter-Strike".

"Minutes played per month (average): 7.308 billion (13,904 years)
Average unique players per month: 3,030,360" - Joga5000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37DX9 cards will be able to play it just fine. If you have a DX10 card you'll get some extra, pretty DX10-only effects, but that's all. And according to the developers, a high-end PC from 3 years ago should be able to play it well. It's good to see developer's optimizing their games so that they can run well even on older machines (Valve does this too).
- ProtonageNet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32@dolemite5005
PC games have graphic settings, you can "dumb down" the quality to meet your standards. - Renton, on 10/12/2007, -4/+35"and three times as expensive"
or about 1.3 times as expensive as the PS3 :P - ahhell, on 10/12/2007, -13/+41Just ***** off and die.
- Sabin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29Dugg for the awesomeness of crysis but the submitter can take his "PIXAR Quality Animations" hyperbole and ***** right off. Saying that any game even approaches the quality of animation/texture detail/modeling that pixar produces shows that you are either simply trying to build hype for your post and/or you don't have a clue what you are talking about.
- spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29How is that even remotely related?
If it's just a general '360 is better than PC' comment, then seriously, go try count the number of games of Counterstrike there have been played over the years. - mlkmnz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26Jeez now I'm digging you down cause you wont shut the hell up. Get over it ya big girl.
- ghostbyte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24Maybe people should setup videos on a bittorrent tracker before posting them. Then we could all help each other get them and stop complaining about download speeds.
- Tikkimann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22PIXAR QUALITY ANIMATIONS?! That's nothing! My PS2 is supposed to do that.
/obscure - Ahnteis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21I share your frustration at Digg's cookie-based tracking of which story you're on. Makes tabbed browsing almost useless.
- spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23Commodore 64
- v0id, on 11/01/2007, -2/+21sounds like a personal problem.
- chris4404, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Not only mods but this has more to do with licencing the engine to other developers.
- Hipple, on 10/12/2007, -10/+29@ psg188
I agree with you, but it's probably safe to say that no one commenting here really knows what Halo 3's graphics are really going to look like. Crysis will undoubtedly look better than Halo 3, but Halo 3 will also undoubtedly be more than one step above Halo 2. I also will not have to buy a $2000 computer to run Halo 3, which will be nice. - SeBBBe, on 10/12/2007, -10/+29Xbox 360 and PS3 are powerful consoles. But they're nowhere near the raw power of gaming rig. Crysis will and does look better than any current gen console game will look. It's math.
- cracker42, on 10/12/2007, -7/+25Simply incredible.
- inkubux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17I was thinking the same, the sdk is just to awesome
- vexter, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20You know what I usually say to people with your 1337 grammar skills? "Ill take a number one with a Diet Coke."
- spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Can't wait to get my hands on this game and saw the jungle in half with a mini-gun, Predator style
- Mosatii, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13A lot of different ones.
The game is optimized to run on older machines (I saw stats the other day of the alpha running @ 30 FPS on a typical upper range machine, emphasis on alpha). - itsburnsie, on 10/12/2007, -32/+44@gorgapor
Watch out man, you have upset the PC Gaming fanboys... - MacSawD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12/CONCUR
The nuclear explosion at the end of the special effects demo gave me chills. So AWESOME. - Supernova36, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Well thats what happens with any graphical breakthrough on PC, you aren't educating anyone here..
I remember when PC Gamer said a negative of Max Payne was that you'd have to buy a whole system upgrade just to play it. - sbull, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Lol, just setting up a website for a client.

I'll up them to rapidshare or something if its needed. - ahhell, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14That's all great and all but what the ***** kind of system are you going to need to play that??
- spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Wrong story mate
- mlkmnz, on 10/12/2007, -7/+17@mrfatalistic - it has everything to do with dating, the XBOX 360s architecture is 2 years old, its not physically capable of performing the same operations as a DX10 card such as the 8800. Software trickery will only get you so far. Case in point the original XBOX which got its ass handed to it graphically by PCs about a year after release.
- fresh27, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12@ Hippie
Halo 3 is coming out this fall or winter, Crysis probably won't be out til at least 2008. Crysis will look far better than Halo 3 or Gears of War or any Xbox 360/PS3 game could ever look, but only when its run on an amazing computer. Half the stuff CryEngine2 is capable of doing would be impossible to do on the consoles without a big performance hit. - LiquidChimera, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Am I the only one that thought of Incredible Crisis? The old PSone game

nearly done? ha, they just entered alpha. iirc, halo 3 is nearing public beta. - mlkmnz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11@mrfatalistic: Calm down dude. Just because people didn't digg your comments up, doesn't mean your a bad person or anything so don't get so upset.
and @byronm: yes the technology is the same. *****, the technology in graphics cards has been pretty same same since the first GeForce card 7 odd years ago. That doesnt mean they all perform the same. Don't confuse your perceived superior knowledge to be factual..... - HunterTV, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9When I saw "Breakable Vegitation" I thought, "Cool, I can finally go ***** on the jungle just like in Predator."
- skyfire1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9A digg down is good but a block is better.
- longboarder543, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Mirror via Rapidshare:
