- masterjjx, on 07/30/2008, -0/+21why isn't shining force on that list that was a great game
- Kisama, on 07/30/2008, -3/+15No Radiant Silvergun?! Buried.
- NinjaPig, on 07/30/2008, -0/+11I don't understand why sega can't get its ***** together and put them on the Wii VC.
- NinjaPig, on 07/30/2008, -0/+8They did.....for the wii.
The playstation 2 even has a japan only port of the first one with improved graphics. - gusisfry, on 07/30/2008, -0/+7Sega Rally was a very good racer. I got a term of "steller" grades to prove it too!
- ee52ck, on 07/30/2008, -1/+7i was going to say the exact same thing. The saturn tanked worse than vista
- fakeXsound, on 07/30/2008, -0/+5The Saturn was a hardware disaster. It had three CPUs, making it very difficult to emulate. That's why there aren't and probably won't be any Saturn games as DLC.
What Sega really needs to do is make a Wii Panzer Dragoon. And remake the Phantasy Star games. - Detry, on 07/30/2008, -0/+5Dragon Force = So awesome.
- drnorris, on 07/30/2008, -0/+5Where the ***** is Xmen VS Street Fighter? IGN is *****.
- inactive, on 07/30/2008, -0/+510 player local bomberman... Oh man I'd be so in.. that would be insane
- noahgelman, on 07/30/2008, -0/+5NiGHTS*
And they did remake it, I got it on both the Saturn and the Wii. Both games are badass - TotalHalibut, on 07/30/2008, -0/+4So, when's your 11th birthday party?
- matthew2398, on 07/30/2008, -0/+3Sega's failure with the Saturn meant that the Dreamcast didn't have the funding or developers it needed to be the success it deserved to be.
- dragon76, on 07/30/2008, -0/+3The WIi version was not the same experience, they threw in all this confusing storyline and the controls are horrible even using the classic controller. I would have PREFERRED a remake over this.
- Zanevalon, on 07/30/2008, -0/+3yes there is. SSF is a great emulator. so is Yabause is another great emulator for the Sega Saturn. They both play Dragon Force perfectly.
- noahgelman, on 07/30/2008, -1/+4I still have my Sega Saturn. I got KiGHTS, Virtua Cop1 and 2, Sega Rally Championship, and Virtua FIghter 2. Those were some of the most bad ass games ever
- Riccallo, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2Shining Force III was by far the best Saturn game ever.
- Wolfsoap, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2Saga deserves the top spot, but what about Burning Rangers?
- TotalHalibut, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2You guess incorrectly, Shining Force 3 was by far superior to the other two games. Those willing to purchase the other 2 scenarios in Japanese would have found a lengthy, and epic SRPG, with a great story, trigger-points in the various different scenarios which changed what happened in the other scenarios, and an exceptionally enjoyable battle system. Well worth getting ahold of if you can. Proud owner of all 3 scenarios :)
- Shao00, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2dragon force was probably my all time favorite Saturn game.
- Culyt, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2Sega Rally was the reason I brought the Saturn, unfortunately I ***** up and got an NTSC one in Singapore while on holiday (PAL here) and ended up only being able to play it in Black & White on an old Commodore 64 monitor and I only ever had the 2 games since I couldn't really import stuff back then since it was before I had the internet. My first experience with pointless region codes ☹
A few years back I got a monitor which would allow me to play the games on it and you can now burn the games, but I screwed up which power converter I was supposed to use and blew the fuse. I then got a different converter, thinking it was the right one bridged the fuse with tin foil and tried again. There was some very pretty sparks that shot out of a large green transformer.
While I'm on the subject I also electrocuted my self doing the swap trick on a Dreamcast (prior to the existence of bootdiscs). The system was alright though.
I also got a solderless modchip for my xbox, it died 2 months later. Make sure you get a professional to do them, it will save you pain.
☢ - twiztidsinz, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2Whats amatter?
Someone lose at the interwebs and is now all bitter? - datdamonfoo, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2Actually, there are Saturn emulators for the PC and you can play Dragon Force on one of them, presumably. Not sure why Darkangel was lying like that...
- LordoftheLoo, on 07/30/2008, -1/+3Clockwork Knight deserves to be in the top 10, not just a honorable mention
- helikopter, on 07/30/2008, -1/+3sounds like you should stop playing video games
- LemmingJesus, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2No Revolution X? My friend and I played that all the time!
- GuitarHeroDenn, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2Umm...
Grandia? - onlynameicanget, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2I wonder if we'll ever get a remake of (or even a sequel to) Panzer Dragoon Saga...
- baboonraf, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1where is mr. bones?
- twyphoon, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1searching desperately for an emulator just for dragon force, but no one cares enough...
- frepnog, on 07/30/2008, -1/+2I dunno, the Wii game kinda sucks. I LOVED NIghts on saturn, but i dont know what it is, i just cant get into the Wii game.
- DukeLeto2, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1I'm in the crib

Playing a game of that street fighter, street fighter, street fighter - inactive, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1I like how they added a Joker picture at the bottom of the page. Nice touch!
- 1807, on 07/30/2008, -1/+2If you were unable to sift through the ***** on any of those systems, other than Genesis, that's your own fault and Sega should be commended for convincing you to buy a steaming pile of crap. Personally, I learned my lesson with the Genesis and never went back. By any chance, do you own an HD-DVD player?
- gordmoo, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1sounds more like a 'these are the 10 games we could remember/actually get to review', there are a lot of fantastic games missing from this list, anyone thinking about getting into saturn gaming might want to checkout racketboy's posts on saturn games.
- inactive, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1That #2 "Ice Cream Babes" is full of win!
- noahgelman, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1I still have it. Its a fun racer
- HeroDreamerCS, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1I'm guessing they didn't go for the japan only stuff. And you know...they were released on other systems later.
- noahgelman, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1Yes, KiGHTS
- TwoQuestions, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1Does anyone know how you can play this game anymore? Is there a PC emulator or something you can use?
- lelux, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.
http://www.racketboy.com/guide/sega-saturn - Donarudo, on 08/05/2008, -0/+1"Top 10 Sega Saturn Games"... aka The only Sega Saturn games.
- Iggins, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1No D2?
Fail. - TotalHalibut, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1And how does one fit more than 10 games into a top 10 exactly? Everything on that list was a triple-A title for the system and your opinions are entirely subjective.
- caddyalan, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1Some Saturn-exclusive games have been ported to other systems, but those are few and far between. Likewise, only a few have shown up on the Gametap network. The system had quality software, but it caused programmers headaches.
- zeeshansyed, on 08/03/2008, -0/+1SEGA was THE BEST!!! I wish they come back some day!
- GB570, on 07/30/2008, -1/+1Shining Force 2 is an all time favorite of mine. Never got to play 3
- twiztidsinz, on 07/30/2008, -1/+1I never owned a Sega Saturn (was always too worried it'd go the way of SegaCD) but my guess would be that the first two Shining Force games were better.
- helikopter, on 07/30/2008, -1/+1there's emulators out there, but last i looked (a year or so ago) none were really totally playable. at least, with panzer dragoon: saga, the one game i wanted but never got for my saturn. this list reminds me, maybe i should take a glance, that's still the only panzer dragoon game i never got to play...
- chinaboyintexas, on 07/30/2008, -0/+0In my opinion, the game was good enough that it may have just saved the Saturn had it not been released so late in the Saturn's short life. Also, SEGA only released a 1/3 of the story.. which, I'm sure, didn't help things.
The gameplay was more or less true to the first two with new features like alliances and neat things of the sort thrown in there, and the 3D graphics would've been popular amongst the whole mob of FFVII fans out there if FFVII hadn't already been out for a year...
If you've still got that Saturn, I say give it a chance if you can find (and afford) a copy. -
