- seattle98104, on 10/12/2007, -0/+68people use rechargeable alkalines?
- terminalpariah, on 10/12/2007, -2/+68Hey, it's Nintendo. You know there's going to be a Wiimote SP pretty soon. ;)
- theonlyvlad, on 10/12/2007, -2/+53It's a standard console warning message. How is this front page news? Must be a really slow day.
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+40My Wiimote ran out of the supplied batteries after only 4 days of play. It was getting alot of use but still, that seems pretty quick. Maybe in the future they'll sell a rechargeable one with a dock. I would buy it.
- T3rry, on 10/12/2007, -4/+41How are you supposed to check the level in the home menu if your batteries are dead?
- Diseage, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28since the site is getting hammered and the picture is HUGE
http://gonintendo.com.nyud.net:8080/wp-content/photos/IMG_1312.JPG - Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26I just use NiMh rechargeable batteries. 2500mAh batteries can last for a week.
- terminalpariah, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27By the way, the Wiimote HATES rechargeable alkaline batteries. It'll generally only work if they're 100% charged and give up after about 4 hours (when they still have plenty of juice left).
Use non-rechargeable alkalines or, better yet, Ni-MH. - Dust3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24Wow, have they ever heard of resizing a picture???
- sneakerelph, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23yeah, batteries running out. i hate glitches like that. sometimes i have to even go to the store, and buy new batteries. man, back in the good ol days, when nintendo didn't ***** up, i had my gameboy. that didn't have any battery problems. never, EVER ran out of batteries. it wasn't rushed to market.
/sarcasm - TaeBoX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18I've noticed a trend in Digg. People bitching about diggs they don't like. If you don't like it, move on, and spare us your lame ass comment.
- mgainor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Why the hell would anyone post this? Whose life is so uneventful that they thought they should share this?
- ohgoodness, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16I'm just wondering how long it'll take till someone makes a wiicharger, since "wii" seems to be suffering the same fate as apple's "i"
- ayeroxor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Seriously. 2 megapixels for an error message? Stupid.
- Rodalli, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17What in God's name are you droning on about?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Who would know? People only bought the thing to put it up on eBay.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12And Another: http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/4222/img1312dc6.jpg
- NikoKun, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Ni-MH are rechargeable... correct?
- Pests, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Its saying the batteries are running low.
OMG, ITS A NINTENDO WII SPECIFIC GLITCH.
Quick, call the battery companies! Their batteries are running low when they are put into a Wii Remote! - terminalpariah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12http://www.pureenergybattery.com/
They perform great in the Wavebird, but the Wiimote chokes on them. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12...Because they have just enough juice in them to get to the Home menu?
- sven007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11it's because it's massive, and like, impossible to not notice that you're out of batteries. the last time my wireless mouse was out of batteries i just got this annoying blinking red light on the side of the mouse for a week before i realized it meant low battery
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10That picture was gigantic and took forever to load, and it was just a picture saying "The Batteries in the Wii Remote are low". Talk about anti-climactic.
But, I will say that the Wiimote absolutely chews through the supplied batteries. I had to go buy a NiMH battery recharger last night.
I'm really hoping that Nintendo makes some sort of dock to use with the Wii. It would only make sense, with the wiiconnect 24 feature, the system is always on, so why not divert some power to the wiimote? The 360 has the great "play and charge" feature, but this isn't really possible with the wiimote. I just hope something better comes along soon - Damienk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I've gotten this like twice. It happens at the same time the battery meter reaches 1 bar and goes red... What's the point in this post exactly?
- Pests, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11You don't have to read anything: Don't click on it. Scroll down. Its okay, youre fine.
- TheG2, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13I could type sentences proving you wrong, but I'm lazy: you're an idiot.
- distrbnce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+81. The batteries are already dead?
2. It's amazing what people will digg... - nipterink, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6ditto. i have a ton of energizer 2500mah 15 minute charge batteries. even if you don't have any backups just take a nice dump and they will be done charging
- Jerk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Buried as lame. I say this as a Wii owner: who cares? The batteries die, replace them. Why do I need to see a battery low warning on the front page of digg?
- Ashiro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6This is a picture of an error message. Its really not worthy of hitting the Digg front page.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Thats still one long dump!
Personally I'm in and out of the bathroom in as little time as possible, I have no desire to linger for 15 minutes thank you very much. - TheG2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You people already killed batteries? Wow, and I thought I played a lot.
- k7leetha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You must not have small children. At my house, the bathroom is the only place to get away from them. 15 minutes in there is a slice of heaven.... stinky, stinky heaven.
- cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -0/+4NI-CD and NI-MH are both rechargeable. You can get them in flavours up to 2700mAH - enough for about 500 digital camera flashes (give or take). They pack a punch and don't take too long to recharge, just keep a pair charging when you're using the other.
- pbjorge12, on 10/12/2007, -0/+34 days!
It took us 45 minutes to use up the pre-packaged batteries... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"How you REALLY know your Wiimote batteries are low"
How about - When it stops working?
Must be a slow news day. - shit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've noticed that while syncing, the four blue lights also blink the charge of the battery. So if your battery is half-dead, it'll blink 2 lights while syncing.
- SugarRay, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4What is the person doing in the reflection of the TV in the picture?
- elitexero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Why the ***** did this make it to the first page of digg? This happened to me all day. So what?
- IMustBeEmo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I thought the fact that the sensor bar emitted the IR instead of the Wiimote emitting it would help improve battery. Maybe I've got it backwards?
- ayeroxor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2nipter: it kills hosts, you ignorant twit.
- EricJD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Or you could just take the batteries out and hook them up to a battery tester.
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Btw, how long is the battery life on the PS3s?
- billymachine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Rechargeable FTW... I wish that link weren't dead, I'd like to believe they're coming out with this.
- trunkster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah I haven't seen this message either and all mine did was kept turning off. Though I did get like 10 minutes out of it after turning it back on when it turned off. Anyway, I used rechargeable ni-mh but they aren't working correctly, fully charge and they show half bar. I think it may be the batteries though, so before I officially complain I will make sure it's not the batteries.
- icealchemist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2yes... it as something to due with wii.
-_____-;; - LavaHot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I got this notice for the first time today, but it wasn't red.
- Milamber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Okay, managed to find an actual large version of the image. The recharging station is viewable at the bottom left of the image here:
http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/4584/jtechwiiaj0.jpg
Also nice to see is that it looks like it's USB powered. One less thing to plug in!
P.S. Why isn't "USB" in digg's dictionary? - rmacnguyen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That message only comes up when you're playing Wii Sports. The real warning that your batteries are low is when the Wii remote turns off, and when you turn it back on, it turns off again in about 30 seconds.
- whiskerlickins, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Dead link?
