Heres the link for the episode:
http://www.youtube.com/v/_dVAuyn7n7Q - 2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Jeez... they really have done everything on that show.
- CamoChris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12As I was watching the commercial it reminded of that Simpsons bit, my question now is which came first, the Simpsons one or the Honda one?
- yidali, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11American Honda Fit = Euro Jazz.
- CraigJ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8cog, of course.
- ahhell, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9For a car smaller than a dumpster, 30MPG is pretty weak.
- GravyTrain6, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I liked the Simpson's version better
- NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"...Honda had to lengthen the vehicle for the USA."
Ah, so they had to make it Fit. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Okay, but I really don't want my bike to disappear like his did.
Cool car nonetheless... - phej, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm not sure about the Jazz, but the Fit is a relatively new car and I remember seeing that simpson's bit at least 2 or 3 years ago. So the simpson's probably did it first.
- jmzook, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Second-coolest car commercial ever!
- ZennZero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2As an addendum, the fuel tank is actually 10.8 gal and the Fit is rated at 31 / 38. The Sport version (which the OP has since he has the Aux input) is rated slightly lower.
- greenamp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Gonna have to agree with ahhell on this one. My '05 Toyota Corolla S gets 35-38mpg on the highway, and it's bigger and has about 20 more HP [TRD sells a bolt on SuperCharger and Intercooler if you like that sorta thing). (I'm not impressed with the mpg of the Yaris either)
- ZennZero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Your mileage is shockingly low! I have measured my automatic fit at 42mpg - and that was before i really broke the engine in. Of course that was mostly interstate driving, but that is still pretty good. The general consensus seems to be that the Fit gets better mileage than the Yaris or xA, but, quite literally, YMMV.
I have been very pleased with my Fit. There was a great shootout in Car & Driver from around its release comparing it to all the other cars in its segment (including the Yaris, xA, Versa, etc.) and the Fit took the lead in a pretty big way.
I don't know why I haven't seen more of them on the road. Perhaps it is an availability issue, since I have seen lots of other cars from that segment -- especially the Aveo -- those things are everywhere. - mz00m, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Fits's are cute and all, but it bugs me that the Fit gets worse gas mileage than the civic!
- MrRockabilly, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6I have owned a couple of different cars. But I have to say, my Fit is probably the most economical and practical one yet. 300 miles to the tank, 10 gallon tank, so 30 miles per gallon. Honda says 34 or more . . . but I say thats pretty damn accurate. 1.5L v-tec gets you where you gotta go, and then some. Came with AUX port to connect my iPod and the radio is great.
If you're looking to get a new car thats practicle, stylish, and economical . . . I would recommend this car. - SQUIDwarrior, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Ah, right you are. You know, I saw that but when I was writing the headline I had that image in my head and I typed "Fit." :P Oh well, essentially the same car. Thanks for pointing that out though.
- envy860, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thats what I though. Just wondering someone else's opinion!
- bluenova, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Do you work for Honda?
- afex, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3yea, if you've gotta drive an egg i'd rather get a Yaris or an xA, both have better mileage. heck, i get 33 in the tC
- MasteRR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"came with AUX port to connect my iPod and the radio is great."
So your car is an iPod accessory? - dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My '05 civic gets 34-36, on average...
- sk8asd123, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2bad pick-up on the Fit

Wow, your pretty dogmatic for someone who doesn't know what they are talking about!
The lower your tire pressure is, the greater friction against the road. Greater friction means larger amounts of energy needed to cause and maintain motion. But don't take my word for it. Check out these links if your interested in learning something new.

http://cars.about.com/od/helpforcarbuyers/tp/ag_top_fuelsave.htm - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually the tank is 10.8 gallons. I have driven in excess of 350 miles on one tank with A/C on most of the time. In order to increase your gas mileage check the air in your tires. My tires were filled at 32 psi which is way below the suggested 51 psi for the Sport Model 15 Wheels. I usually go a little below the suggested. I filled my to 48 psi and have enjoyed better gas mileage. The higher the pressure in your tires... the less friction against the road so the better the gas mileage.
- RawkBob, on 02/13/2009, -0/+1Haha, i was in Germany on holiday just last week and managed to catch this advert during some rubbish German tv... it was the highlight of all the tv i saw when i was there :D

My vote goes to the egg! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The car sold in america is actually a few inches longer. It would not pass certain safety regulations so Honda had to lengthen the vehicle for the USA.
- sonician, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I bought a Honda Fit here in Canada about three weeks ago, and it's an awesome car. Even as a big guy, I find the interior space more roomy and comfortable than many cars twice the size (and, twice the price).
The Fit has excellent acceleration, stopping and handling.. and the layout and engineering are fantastic. It's awesome to be spoiled like this.. having the car in Europe as the Jazz for a few years now has allowed Honda to release a top notch car with all the kinks already worked out. - Teapots, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Who else thinks the final "score" should have been 1337?
- djpsyber, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I got my Fit about a month ago and love it! I was also looking at the Yaris and xA. I test drove the Fit first and after that the xA and the yaris felt like toys (cheap toys at that, IMO). For being a cheap car, the Fit is really well built. The different configurations of the seats are impressive. You can fold the back seats forward and they lay pretty flat with the trunk, so there's TONS of room in the back. You can also flip the backseats up and I've been able to fit 2 mountain bikes there between the front and back seats. The front seats also lay all the way back, so you can sit in the backseat like a lounge chair. I'm about 6' 4" and the reactions from people usually go something like this:
1) "That car's so tiny, how do you fit in it?"
2) *they sit in it, then* "Wow, there's a lot of leg & head room in here"
3) *show them how the seats work* "OMG, there's TONS of room in here!"
It also handles surprisingly well considering the type of car it is. You aren't going to win any 1/4 mile races with it (it's only a 110hp engine), but it's still fairly zippy because of the power to weight ratio. I've been getting about 34mpg so far with it (about 50/50 highway/street driving). If you're on the fence about it, I'd definitely give it a test drive, as seeing videos and pictures really don't do it justice. - strikerK, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1copy of the simpsons
- kewldude606, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"the less friction against the road so the better the gas mileage."
wow, nice BS. friction is what makes tires go. do you get good gas mileage when hydroplaning? - ABandGeek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I've been thinking about getting one of these over the Yaris, etc., primarily due to the comparatively large storage space. Can anybody who owns one comment on how much there is, and how well those folding seats work?
- monikaa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0alright so ive got just over a year until i can drive, but when i first saw the fit i fell in love. they even had to kick me out of the car-i loved it so much. i have read on other websites about people who didnt like the fit- for numerous reasons-but i havent really read of anything wrong with it. though- i havent seen many on the road- i hope to see many more coming- and i hope to myself get one of these!
- eps3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Daily commute is about 50/50 city/ highway and I'm getting about 37 mpg with a manual transmission.
As for the sport model get less fuel economy I don't know why that would be. Its basically just an options package with bolt on body panels, alloy wheels and some electronic bells and whistles. - ZennZero, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2If your front tire is removable, you can comfortably fit a full size bike upright when the seats are in "tall" mode:

- bobcrotch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Not only is that video awesome I would love to own one of those cars!
