- TruthElixirX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15I prefer the term "DiggDugg".
- nphp20, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13slashdot effect = slashdot.com
digg effect = digg.com
Deal. - chad78, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11For those of you who don't know - digg is a *social bookmarking site* - the key word there is bookmark. People can digg a story without reading it with plans to come back and check it out later - maybe after the site comes back up.
Also, just because the site is slashdotted, diggdotted, digg effected, or just plain down, to you - that doesn't mean it's down for everyone. The way traffic works - SOMEBODY *has* to be on the site for it to be down for you. This particular site might have exceeded it's bandwidth for the month or whatever - and therefore is truly down - but usually, it's just the servers can't handle over a certain amount of people on their site at one time. Again, meaning *SOMEBODY IS ON THE SITE*. Do not judge the world's internet experience by your own, And don't try to tell people how they should or should not digg stories. I don't remember asking you. - noob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8The host appears to be angry. Digg effect.
Yet it continues to get diggs... - Sibertank, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Thank you captain obvious
- kefs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8yep.. got it.. it's called 'digg'
- MrShlee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6For first timers - Worth reading http://www.dev-scene.com/Welcome_Message
- kennyvader, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I suspect people do this so that the site enters their Digg history and they can then easily look at it later when it might be working again.
Digg needs to add a "save to check out later" button. - Madh2orat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6"slashdot effect = slashdot.com
digg effect = digg.com
Deal."
But when you add them together, its the bandwith-raped effect
(ok, fine, im not good at making up crap)
Mod down in 3.... - Tanglefuzz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@MrShlee ;
you might want to put that in the footer, as lots of people get annoyed when seeing a rip.
When they know the design/skin is requested properly, they might stay and browse your site like others :) - dafatkid27, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Rock on guys. DS Homebrew is the greatest. Keep up the great work!
- priceless721, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7why are you acting like a bitch? i don't remember asking for your opinion.
- MrShlee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Im going to create a mirror for this page..
dev-Scene.com should always be upto date - Raybdbomb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Something like this is heavily needed.
- MrShlee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2To DIGGERS - I've been working myway over the webpage.
so far I've fixed 5 repeating errors and an issue with zend optimizer in my PHP error_log.
so as of now.. the error logs are clear and the last issue was over an hour ago. :D
The next issue has to deal with the skin and CSS - I'll clear that up asap. - user123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Digg Effect for Digg
Slashdotted for Slashdot
But the real question... Is it enough to argue over? - MrShlee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Consider it done.. once I get home from this shift.........
- StudioXcel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2For any of you interested in being a part of the DS homebrew scene (or lack thereof...), check out http://www.palib.com
The owner of this site has made a library for easy development of games. This is still a project in development itself, but it already proves itself a great asset to beginners and experts alike. I think this is what the public needs to really get into homebrew development! - Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I thought the same thing, only less negatively.
It reminds me of Mozilla's site. Which isn't a bad thing.
Soooo, I click the "Bury" button on your comment... - davr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This looks as if it will be THE #1 resource for DS homebrew, for both end-users and developers. It already has a very nice catalog of available homebrew games/apps, with nice screenshots & descriptions and easy to use download links
- Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1WTF is a morror?
;) - MrShlee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dev-Scene itself is getting "hand writen" a DS programming guide by one of the DSDEV scenes, most skilled programmers. so read everything that has been included on the site so far.. apart from that.
