- Langford, on 10/12/2007, -6/+110I don't want to see Hillary Clinton and President in the same article anymore. That creepy control-freak has no business running.
Want a Democrat? Pick a different Democrat. Want a woman president? Pick a different woman. - MrMuffMeat, on 10/12/2007, -10/+112And in other news, Hillary Clinton is a stupid bitch.
- borninda818, on 10/12/2007, -1/+92it's a form of entertainment, just like movies and television.
If they get a video game tax, there will be a justification for movie and TV tax.
We pay enough at the movie theater as it is.

I agree, unless "was bitch-slapped by the" comes between them... - Arramol, on 10/12/2007, -2/+69What do you mean, "grow up?" What makes you think there's anything juvenile about video games? Many of them are significantly more sophisticated than the garbage Hollywood is churning out these days. I guarantee I got more mental stimulation out of the time I put into Civilization IV (the PC game equivalent to chess on steroids) today than out of any movie I've seen this summer. Furthermore, I'm completely bored with my DVD collection at the moment because I just played through ChronoTrigger, which has such an outstanding storyline that the only movies I own which can compete are the ones I've already watched over and over again, and I can't think of a movie on the market right now which even comes close. Anyone who thinks video games are nothing but children's toys clearly isn't familiar with the medium.
- cochiseTX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+42Geez.
First of all if you are a "concerned" parent who doesn't want your kid to play violent video games, then don't buy them any. Don't force your goddamn opinion onto other people.
Second of all comparing video games to smoking is ridiculous. Whats next? Some crazy old man will compare the internet to a series of tubes?
:) - zweben, on 10/12/2007, -6/+45Well right now it doesn't appear to be the Republican way either.
- RichPowers, on 10/12/2007, -2/+41She won't win precisely because she comes off as an uppity bitch - one who spends way too much time crying about videogames. How about urging Congress to cut spending instead of taxing us working Americans?
- myxyplik, on 10/12/2007, -2/+40New Yorkers, vote against her in the Senate elections in November. If she loses, it'll be harder to run for President in '08.
- truspector, on 10/12/2007, -17/+47She needs to quit worrying about video games and concentrate more on where her husband is sticking his dick.
- bpwwhirl, on 10/12/2007, -17/+45Cut spending? Why, that's not the Democrat way!
- crazykyle9, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25I don't see how this tax would have any validity, that's just like taxing a DVD or a download off of iTunes, if anything it would to be something more broad such as an entertainment tax, and I really don't see that happening (nor do I want to! )
- MarkCiccone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22Okay guys, so what are you going to do about it? This is the 1000000th story relating to politics on Digg that has sparked outrage, you're a huge group, but do you do anything? No. You sit there and digg the story, post a comment similar to "OMG WTF! That sucks!" and you do nothing else.
If a bill is introduced, write to your congressman/congresswoman. Let them hear your voice, god knows we don't get heard enough anymore. - zweben, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22Nice definition of 'loss' there. = /
- shortkid422, on 10/12/2007, -9/+26Guess who just lost my vote...not that she was getting it before.
- radu79, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21How about NOT chosing between her and a Republican? How about voting for the Libertarian party?
Opps, responded to the wrong comment, digg down. - Cbeck527, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Bittorrent is looking pretty good right now....
- oOLiquidNightOo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17they'll tax my video games when they pry my BFG2000 from my cold dead cyberhands.
- vezquex, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Keep this up and she'll lose the nomination.
- Atlantics, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18***** that bitch.
- TheG2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Politicians have lost touch so badly with the younger generation it isn't even funny.
Tubes, Video games as the devil, net neutraility. Things they know nothing about yet have so much control over our future. We really need to rise up (peacefully) and let them know what we think, not here on Digg, but in letters and through our representitives. We need to stand up and have them understand how the new world works, the world that isn't through the eyes of the lobbiests. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -26/+40"Pick a different woman."
except for that arrogant asshat condoleeeeeeza rice. - suicidal-kid, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18Ew.
- willij, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13don't vote for this yahoo when she runs.
- Frantic1337, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15What a *****
- RFInfection, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Video games offer an industry that allows endless amounts of entertainment and art.
***** HER. - radu79, on 10/12/2007, -8/+20How about NOT chosing between her and a Republican? How about voting for the Libertarian party?
- Naaaaak, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14Taxes FTL. How about we quit providing illegals with benefits and cut back on some other BS programs I don't need or want.
- Recoiler, on 10/12/2007, -9/+19Remember, folks, this is a RUMOR. Hopefully, it's not true.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+21"Oh well sucks to live in the US even more now.
Your country is getting SOOOO totally *****."
right, because wherever you live is better than the united states. however ***** up we are, we're still the best place in the world to live unless you have a ***** of money. and you sir, obviously do not have a ***** of money. - allan17, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14@icefrakker
Exactly. There are a lot of countries much worse than the US will ever be, but some people still go around acting like the US is Nazi Germany. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Hillary Clinton should get taxed for her cottage cheese ass... on a per kurd basis...
- zeldafan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Hillary Clinton is not something you just dump something on. It's not a big truck.
It's a series of tubes.
Sorry, but I think it just gets funnier and funnier.
Down with the bitch! - Neurofiend, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Do you have any real proof of that Viktro? I don't see you saying the same thing about tv, mindless board games (roll the dice and do what the card says), or school systems that target the dumbest kid in class.
- Nobi-Wan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9It's a rehash of a cycle that occurs every decade or so. Blues is evil, Rock and Roll is evil, Television is evil, computers are evil, video games are evil, Hillary Clinton is the antichrist...oh wait, that last one is true.
- ryogahibiki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Oh God, I think Hillary DOESN'T WANT to be the next president, and is doing everything in her power to make her as unappealing as possible.
Think about it, there's way more people that play video games than the small "morally upright" conservative "family values" people that believe games are the root of all evil. If she pushes this agenda, for every positive vote she gets, she's going to get 50 negative votes.
And as a liberal, this pisses me off even more since if she does run for president, this just increases the chance of another crazy neocon getting the office for another 4 years... - allan17, on 10/12/2007, -15/+24>I don't want to see Hillary Clinton and President in the same article anymore.
Seconded. If I lived in the US, I'd rather vote a retarded monkey in.
Oh, wait... - moondog, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Everything starts as rumor....squash it while its a rumor.
- cin669, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Everyone needs to stop voting for either of the 2 big parties.. they are virtually the same.. old fat rich people.. who only look after what keeps them rich.. doesn't matter which party they both suck IMHO and unfortunately not enough people will vote for the other parties because they just aren't big enough since then it's considered a waste of a vote and one of two evils inherits ala Bush.
- BTime, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9We need a great senator in New York. Check out John Tessini and learn about how little you really knew about Hillary. I used to be a supporter of hers (back when I was ignorant), now I know she really is just a canniving bitch,.
http://www.tasinifornewyork.org/
I seriously want this guy to run for President someday. - d00ley, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Where are you from, Zoids? Found it within the 60 second edit time. London. You should be concerned just like us. The police state is rolling out fast in England.
- albinoMithos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Why is our political system so messed up that the same damn nutjobs can stay in office almost unopposed for decades and nobody can say or do anything about it? I mean it's not like I want these people in office they don't ever listen to any of our desires unless it becomes a real threat to their office position. This country isn't just their little plaything to do whatever they want with. If the government really needs more money then instead of taxing they should cut back on all those pork barrel projects and they need to do something about the bureaucracy. I know it seems simple when you say it like that and I do realize that it'll probably be hard to do but this ***** has to stop. I'm tired of video games being the scapegoat for every little bad thing that happens to kids and of course they'll try to stop them by taxing us which in the long run won't work which is the exact reason they do it. We really need more then two major political parties because the Douchebags and Douchebags of America are screwing up big time in all areas.
- Vector713, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Hillary never would have gotten my vote anyway, but stupid stuff like this definately doesn't help her case.
- rincebrain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9This is true.
- rgov, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Yeah! Like, say, shortkid422!
- Bobski, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9@Langford
Well, it seems that's *something* conservatives and liberals can agree on! - JonForTheWin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7That bitch needs to get cancer and die for the good of the country.
- oyourmom, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9I push pretty far to the left but this is just stupid. People need to lay off on trying to destory video games. If anything tax porn, i can atleast get that online for free. ;)
- Computer_Kid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I'm now embarrassed to live in NY, again. If Hillery runs for president and wins, somebody is going to be the next Lee Harvey Oswald.
- wes121593, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9And we thought Mr. Tube Man was bad. (Ted Stevens)
